I was thinking the other day about how e-mail has kind of gone the way of snail mail and how very few people use it for personal communications anymore. Most of my e-mails come from mailing lists or are notices about online purchases or e-bills or something. There are a few friends I still e-mail, but plenty of people that having their e-mail address just isn't very valuable.

Agreed. I text the people I used to send e-mails to. And I love technology with the best of them, I love to text. But I definitely miss snail mail. I was reminded of this 2 weeks ago when I got a REAL hand written letter in the mail. 2 pages, even. It made me grin for the entire day, and it's still making me happy. I haven't received a hand written letter in years. Years!! I wish people did it more. Maybe I should start that and send one to someone this week.

Should be happening here soon too. I love Fall, I have love hate relationship with Winter. I love watching the snow but not driving in it.

It gets dangerously cold here in winter, and we do get abundant snow most years. I don't mind the cold though... I haven't yet had to shovel cold.

That said, it is a gorgeous fall day here... sunny and windy.

I miss the comfortable warmth of a wood-burning stove. Forced air heat just isn't the same. There is an antique sheep herder's stove in my garage that needs a set of legs but is otherwise perfect and I like to daydream about when I can finally get it installed in my little hermitage cabin.

Must be nice...

How are things with the new house? Hope y'all are set up for winter.
No, it's not nice. I'm freaking out. I just didn't want to say anything because it was negative.

We still haven't done anything to get the septic system or the water put in. Those are the two main concerns right now, but if something happens, it will have to wait until this weekend, when we only have a few days before it freezes. We still have to get paint and mud on the walls, and carpet on the floors.
Electricity and propane aren't something I'm overly concerned about, because I have those in the bag, but before I can do anything with it, I have to have a place to put them.
I don't have a stove or a fridge in my house, but I suppose, with winter coming, who needs a fridge, right?
Usually, I LOVE LOVE LOVE autumn. It's my favorite time of year. Right now, I'm just scared of it.
Still praying my heart out though, God will make something pull through.... I hope....

I have a new wood burning stove, a new rocking chair, a few books I want to read, and hot chocolate. I'm just waiting on the moment I actually get to sit and enjoy those things...

I really suck at making friends. My Little Pony makes it look so easy. Like hey, you also enjoy eating apples and busting out into random song as a means to express your feelings? That's so great. Let's be forever friends and fend off our enemies with our magical friendship powers.

Yeah, not so charming when I try it.

I agree a handwritten letter is such a magical novelty. I decided a little over a year ago to start sending letters to a few close friends once a quarter. I havent met the quarterly goal but I have come close. Im still working on it.

Fall is my favorite also and have been anxiously/impatiently waiting its arrival since 9/1. :-( I have my down comforter sitting on my hope chest sadly waiting to be thrown over my bed. I cannot wait!!!!
