sad. so horrible that this country has become like some of the banana republics we read about in school.

never thought we would see that here.

never say never.
I was just thinking today of the cities that would qualify as 'little (socialist nation)' or 'new (communist country)' and how 'progressive' doesn't automatically indicate any sort of ideal hope. For example, it is the nature of things, such as atrophy or cancer, to progress, so... there's that.

Texas
Parts of Texas will experience a total eclipse of the sun on April 8th. Since I live in Texas, I will be able to experience this event first hand.
On the news they are saying that so many people are booking flights to come here, that it may cause scheduling problems for airlines.
I have never witnessed such an event. I have seen several partial eclipse, but that can be a disappointment because it does not really get dark. Therefore, it is my prediction that on that day we will have heavy thunder storms which will totally block the view of this event. The only way we will see it is to hire a private plane to fly us above the storm clouds!
Well what can I say! I was wrong! At approx 1:45 pm today, North Texas did receive a total eclipse of the sun! It was mostly cloudy, but the sun would come out occasionally. It was a remarkable experience! This is the 1st time that I have been able to see a total eclipse and I am thankful to God that He allowed me to witness the event:love:

on some things, yes, on others, no.

during 2015, 16, he made of a lot of good sounding promises about draining the swamp/

then , he got in office, realized that most of d.c. would not work with him, and began to compromise with the swamp, and most of the what he said he did not do.

so, if i see him really going against the swamp, then he gets my vote, if not, in neither him nor biden get my approaval.

too soon to tell right now if he is going positive or negative..

just log on and say " i do not like trump"

we get it. you don't like him.
This is why they call it "TDS". The hatred is irrational, and it shows in the extremity of their reactions to the man. I believe Biden is evil. But, I do not have "BDS", simply because I do not obsess over him, and do not feel the need to continually start conversations bashing the man.

The people who call Trump supporters 'cult members' are the ones suffering from an almost cult-like hatred of the man. They all need to take a long, hard look in a mirror.

i don't know of a "vacation" thread so i'm posting here. Jesus has allowed my wife & i to avail ourselves a 12 day vacation in the Caribbean. after years of caring for her parents & me caring for others, we became free for holiday time. we visited the Bahama's, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Antigua, St Kitts & Nevis & Tortolla. we enjoyed a super time at a time where we needed to get away mentally & spiritually. thank you Jesus!

Well, today is 100 years exactly for this iconic station. I listened to it in my Jeep on the way home tonight.

And I heard the old ABC news jingle and that in itself brought back a lot of memories.

on Monday, our daughter came for a visit with her 4 children. it was a delightful day of bike riding, watching the ducks at the pond (we also saw a terrifying snapping turtle that was just huge! lol), playing games, and reading books.

at one point, i was trying to read a book to my two and a half year old grandson. i say trying, because he just really wanted to talk about the letters and what sounds they make. then he transitioned to punctuation marks. apparently, he's been doing this for a few weeks... he listens to his sister's homeschool lessons in reading.

he asked about commas and periods. i pointed to a question mark and said, Jack, do you know what that one is called?

he beamed up at me, and said, "that one is called a mystery."

Trying to decide a menu for the senior pastor when I invite him over to dinner....

I think I got it almost figured out....

Filet with thyme-tomatoe sauce, fresh angel hair pasta with Alfredo sauce? (Maybe just herbed garlic cream and butter) and some tossed broccoli, asparagus or whatever I can find fresh.

Of course fresh bread sourdough and brioche....(butter, herbed olive oil, and cinnamon honey butter)
And I'm drawing a blank at dessert....
Yeast cake? (Almost like a daiquiri in taste)
Chocolate mousse tart with Strawberry sauce.
Tira mi sue....
(Coffee of course)
Dunno.....my muse seems to have stepped out for a bit.

Maybe a salad too....maybe not. Dudnt matter....just wondering where my muse has run off to.

In a way - it is nice to see someone use the word 'muse' - and, [I think] people-at-large do not realize that 'amuse' means "[to] not think"... :geek:

People who define words according to their own whims do not amuse me .

There are even websites devoted to exposing that specific deception...

http://postavista.blogspot.com/2014/03/amuse-is-not-to-not-think.html
What? Sorry, I was obviously still amused.

Actually, amuse as not thinking makes sense. A muse is someone or something that is considered in great detail. If "a" means without, it makes sense. And Gary is the source and he's usually a little OCD about such things. He probably couldn't function for a couple of days after purposely misspelling words and using poor syntax.
