Great shot!View attachment 286806
Shot from about 70 yardsaway. 400mm full out lens plus stacked extenders 1.4x plus a 2x
effective lens length just under 1400mm
Great shot! Does your camera have a shake stabilizer? With that much magnification on a fast moving object, even a tripod wouldn't be enough to get the resolution you're getting on these IMHO. I'm speaking from the limited perspective of a wildlife and special events photographer, so my knowledge of your advanced equipment is only an educated guess
The stabilizer is inside the lens. Pushung the shutter halfway down activates it. Downside is that stabilizer pulls energy from the battery - not really a big deal as I carried extra batteries.View attachment 286806

That really took a lot of creativity and knowledge! The stabilizer is inside the lens. Pushung the shutter halfway down activates it. Downside is that stabilizer pulls energy from the battery - not really a big deal as I carried extra batteries.
I carried a monopod as a tripod was way to bulky to drag around the infield. I also used a homemade thing to hold steady. A 6 foot dog leash. I screwed a 3/8 in eye bolt into the camera body tripod mount. Also cut the leash and sewed in an adjuster like the ones on a back pack so I could adjust the length to my eye level height. The eye bolt hooked to the snap on the leash. This allowed much camera movement of the camera with hand shake not much of a problem. I put my right foot in the hand hold on the leash and used gentle upward pressure under the camera body also.
oh yeah - a rubber washer contacts the camera body to avoid scratching same. And a metal washer contacting the rubber. Both washer were held in place with a wind bolt.
I went from about 40% keepers without this contraption to around 75% keepers with it.
When I found that I could not even break even financially doing this I sold most of my better equipment.
The aderalin addication carried over after I stopped covering the races so I started hunting venomous snakes. state parks.
There should be more people doing that. They all serve a purpose.water moccasian, coral, copperhead and 3 types of rattlers. eastern diamondback, canebreak, and pymgy are the only available venomous types. I found pymgy rattlers 3 or 4 times but never tried to pick them up as I only wanted their photos. Around the house we rarely see them but they're here - black, southern black, garter and corn.
It's sad but most folks think that the only good snake is a dead snake. I do what I can to educate them.
thank for helping the youtubers. hope you keep going with that.
