I would like to see these buttons separated a little. Or maybe even on opposite sides. That way dummies like me wouldn't hit the wrong one prematurely

If you submit a post prematurely, and you do not think you can edit and fix it well within the allotted 5 minutes:
1. Edit the post with the 'Advanced' editor.
2. Select all of the contents in the editor window. ( Ctrl-A )
3. Copy or Cut the contents into the 'clipboard'. ( Ctrl-C or Ctrl-X )
4. Delete the post.
5. Start new post.
6. Paste the contents into the editor window. ( Ctrl-V )
7. Continue editing.

No, the ultimate answer is to take an extra half second and think about what you're doing, rather than have a person need to go in and go through the hassle of changing the site around to cater to one person who is willing to pay attention to their actions and be responsible for themselves.

I'm willing to bet I'm not the only one. And that a good web designer wouldn't have much trouble separating them. And that I should pay more attention before I click. And that your name really should be grumpy not ugly.

Just in case what Rick said doesn't translate well in the Philippines -- Benjamins are our $100 bills. He used a plural, so he's offering $200 or more.
I couldn't learn how to code for a web page, but I think this really wouldn't take long and you're getting paid good money up front. I'd go for it, if given that offer.
I'm no web designer either, and it may be that easy if the design is yours to modify, but our forums run on vBulletin (one of the most popular commercially available forum programs) and as a result there are a lot of limits to what is modifiable by the licensee.

RoboOp could do virtually-anything-he-wanted-to-do if the site was based on some 100% open-source software like phpBB.

It is not my intent to make any insult about the current site; he has done a fine job with it so far...
Only -- with regard to 'customization' -- he could do "a whole lot more" with 100% open-source software.
( I would be "more than happy to help him all I could" if the site were 100% open-source. However, I "don't do" [ commercially available ] 'proprietary' systems. )

Maybe he could, but I really did try to learn coding (.html, because .css was just becoming popular while I was struggling with .html) for two years and couldn't get anywhere. I'd learn one thing, but when I tried to learn the next, the first thing fell out of my brain.Exactly!

He'd have to learn how to, from scratch, before he could Open Source this site. I suspect with such a small operation that's one too few hands to do too much.
