The Defense and Confirmation of the Gospel (part 4)

If we summarize this chapter we can see four churches that are described in Revelation. The Catholic church claims their authority comes from God as the first Pope was Peter and this authority has been handed down by the laying on of hands ever since. However, we also see that this church is not going to willingly greet Jesus as the Messiah, rather some will be broken and others ground to powder. They have built their own little kingdom and do not want to hand it over. In revelation we discover that the overcomers in this church will be given a rod of iron signifying authority.

The second church we see is Sardis. This represents the big denominations. They have FreeMasons on the board and have cut a deal with the government in exchange for their tax exempt status. The 501(c)3 churches. This is like the rich young ruler who is told to sell all that he has and come follow the Lord. As long as you let the Board of directors pull the strings and tell you what you can and cannot speak you can't follow the Lord's leading in your spirit. If you belong to the Lord, if you have his image and superscription on your heart then He should be the only one who has the final say on what you can and cannot say.

The third church is Laodicea, they are depicted by the Sadducees, those who worship the Lord according to their own opinion and not according to the truth in the word of God.

The fourth church is Philadelphia, much harder to see but clearly there. At the conclusion Jesus speaks directly to His disciples to beware of the hypocritical worship of those who love the long robes, the best seats, but who secretly devour widow's houses and make a big show of their spirituality. In the church of Philadelphia they are told that they will not have to go out anymore indicating that they were in one of these other churches but eventually were forced out, either by Jezebel, or excommunicated from Sardis (blotted out of their book) or locked out of Laodicea along with Jesus.

How does the Lord build an unshakeable kingdom

21:1 And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury. 2 And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites. 3 And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all: 4 For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.

This word balances us to have a different perspective. A rich man donates $1 million dollars to a charity and that may seem to us like a lot, and the Lord doesn't deny that the quantity is a lot, but it does not reflect that they are giving of themselves. They have an abundance, it is like leaving a tip for the waiter. Instead of looking at how much money was given, look at how much of the person was given. The poor widow gave more of herself than the rich men. A rich man might be able to give $1 million without it having any impact on his personal life. It is a nice gift, but it isn't a sacrificial gift. This is a chapter on a great shaking, and that is what most people focus on, but a more important question is how do you build up your faith so that it is unshakeable? The only way is to spend time with the Lord and let Him fill you with faith and that requires a sacrifice of all your living. If church is something I do Sunday morning and the rest of the time I am off doing my own thing you cannot possibly build up an unshakeable faith.

5 And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said, 6 As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

It is very likely that those rich men did have a form of a faith. Why give money to the temple if you don't believe in the Lord? Yes, you can give money to charity as a way to polish your image, but it doesn't have to be the temple. You can give scholarships to kids to go to school if you think that will help, you can build libraries if you think access to books will help or you can give money to doctors to find a cure for cancer. There are many charitable opportunities, all of which will polish your image. So let's assume that all of these ones are representing believers in the Lord. For many, what they give to the church is "extra", it is out of their abundance. But to one poor widow it is all the living that she has. This is what Paul said "for me to live is Christ". Ask someone what they like to do in their free time. If they say they watch some sports team, or play golf, or do many other things then is it true for them to say "for me to live is Christ"? We are not to judge others, simply examine yourself. That is the first question I would use to examine myself. The second is this, I am a living stone, but is my faith resting on the faith of another living stone, or is my faith resting on the rock of my salvation? Jesus did not say the pillars which sit upon the foundation rock, which is the revelation of Jesus, He didn't say they get cast down. He only said that every stone that is upon another stone will be cast down. If I say that the Bible does not ever say that you cannot know who the Antichrist is prior to the rapture, do you respond "no, brother so and so says you can't"? If so then your faith is resting upon another stone. However, if you go to the word and say "see, the man of sin is revealed after the restrainer steps aside". That is after the rapture. OK, so then I would ask "who was restraining the man of sin?" It was the saints who were filled with the Holy Spirit. OK, how could they restrain the man of sin if they couldn't see him? The verse actually says that he will be revealed to those left behind, it never says that those who were raptured did not see him prior to being raptured. Now how do you respond to that, do you start to shake and shut down because you have always trusted in others to tell you what the Bible says? Well then, you are a stone that is resting on another stone. Or do you say "I never heard this before, I am going to pray about this and study the word"? That is what it means to have your faith on the rock, the revelation of Jesus Christ.

How does the Lord build an unshakeable kingdom, part 2

7 And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?

This is typical, this is what everyone wants to know. But this is not the most important question, the most important question is how do you build an unshakeable faith so that when it does happen you do not become part of the rubble?

8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

Already, the fact that you are even asking these questions indicates you will be easy to deceive. This is what people are looking for, when will it be, and what will be the sign. If I know the day that the twin towers will be hit by the terrorist attack I can stay home that day. That is a terrible strategy. Instead, if I know how to discern when an attack is coming I can help thwart it and save thousands of lives. So know this, many will come in the name of the Lord, they will claim to have a special anointing, they will point to the events happening around you, and their goal is to get you to follow them so they can make merchandise of you. There are many channels on Youtube that are monetized. That means they make money when you watch them. That may not seem like a cause for concern, but listen to them talk. You will hear what is in their heart. Perhaps their focus is on their sound system, perhaps it is on their graphics, perhaps they want you to share what they are speaking to help advertise their channel, maybe they want you to comment and help the algorithm. Now you have a second motivation into every video, one may be their desire to speak the truth and have the Lord shine light on the situation, but the other is to make more money. They can argue that this is not true, they want the truth going out to more people. OK, but if the truth goes out to more people they make more money. Then they discover that the titles that get the most clicks are vague threats of impending doom. Words like "unprecedented", "a stark warning", "Deadly tornadoes", "Is this volcano about to blow?", etc. Hey, its only the title. But my question is, who is the Lord that they are one with in their speaking? Is Jesus the one giving them the title or is the goal of getting more clicks the goal? Jesus could just as easily have warned about click bait saying "don't go after them".

How does the Lord build an unshakeable kingdom, part 3

In the previous chapter we saw three examples of churches that missed the mark in one way or the other -- Thyatira, Sardis and Laodicea. We saw the underlying issue and we saw that the disciples of the Lord that He was speaking to specifically represented Philadelphia. They were warned to beware of certain hypocritical religious figures, in Thyatira you have Jezebel, in Sardis you have those who claim to be a live but are dead, and in Laodicea the church is run by the laity and have locked Jesus, the incarnated word of God out of the church. However, this chapter begins with us seeing this poor widow who for her to live is Christ. She represents the raptured saints. She does not simply represent Philadelphia because there are saints who are overcomers in Thyatira, and in Sardis, and if they leave Laodicea they also might be overcomers.

Passing through Jericho on the way to the Rapture

Luke 19 gives us a vivid picture concerning what it will be like prior to the rapture and it looks like it all began with the Pandemic in 2020 and all the censorship at that time.

This is based on what is shared already on this blog, however, if you would rather have it spoken so you can listen on headphones while you wash dishes or something, also I go into greater detail when I talk about this rather than what is written.

How does the Lord build an unshakeable kingdom, part 4

9 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.

This is a good test. If we have unshakeable faith then we will also have peace that passeth all understanding. If you are terrified then you don't have peace from the Lord.

10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: 11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

These are things you can see on the news that is pushing "fear porn". It is a warning to all Christians, if you are fearful then you do not have unshakeable faith.

12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. 13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.

Unshakeable faith and peace that passeth all understanding is a powerful testimony to others. To have a testimony is far more important than knowing when the day of the Lord is. Even if you know when it is that doesn't guarantee you have a testimony and it certainly doesn't guarantee you have unshakeable faith or peace that passeth all understanding.

14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: 15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

This is much more important than knowing when the rapture is. Pray that the Lord give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay.

16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.

This is what you need to be forewarned by. If you are caught by surprise it would be far worse. The fact that you know and yet you continued to love and pray for your friends and family is a powerful testimony to them.

17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.

No one ever curses using Allah, or Mohammed, or Buddha, or any other name. It is a powerful testimony that 2,000 years later the one name they either love or hate is Jesus Christ.

18 But there shall not an hair of your head perish.

This is the Lord's promise to us, this is why we have peace that passes all understanding. This is the word we need to make sure we have unshakeable faith in.

19 In your patience possess ye your souls.

This is also a promise to us that we should embrace and put our faith in.

20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

This is the sign! In the previous chapter we passed through Jericho. That was the censorship we saw at the time of the Pandemic and vaccine mandate. That sign told us the Day of the Lord is nigh (next door). We saw that in 2020 and 2021. Then in 2023 and 2024 we saw Jerusalem compassed with armies on seven sides. Therefore we know that their desolation is nigh.

21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.

Jerusalem can be used both literally and figuratively. We can talk about the church being a city set on a hill. But "Judea" is a very clear reference. You can say this was fulfilled in 70 AD, that is fine, but in 2023 and 2024 Jerusalem was also compassed by armies and now we are much closer to the day of the Lord than simply "next door". Think of the Day of the Lord being a big estate and in 2023 we entered the gate to the property. We are now on the "property" of the Day of the Lord. You are told to flee because you did not have unshakeable faith.

22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

Take a look at what is happening in Gaza, it is the days of vengeance. Look at what Trump did with the Tariffs, it is the days of vengeance. People should take the Lord's advice, right now anyone can flee out of Jerusalem, no problem. But shortly it will be like what happened to the Jews in the Ghettos of Germany and France. We are saved by faith, if you had faith you would not be going through the days of vengeance.

23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.

Does this not sound like the seven years of tribulation described in the book of Revelation? We are not appointed to wrath and that is because we have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

There you go. He is clearly referring to 70 AD as the start of the times of the Gentiles and He is also calling the "Times of the Gentiles" as "the days of vengeance". But we also learn the times of the Gentiles comes to an end when Jerusalem is no longer trodden under foot of the Gentiles. In 2017 for the first time the US and two other countries officially recognized Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel. From that point we have been in this transition zone with the Writing on the Wall sign from 2017 to 2024, and with the Global Pandemic, Election fraud, Mass Censorship, and Jerusalem compassed with armies.

How does the Lord build an unshakeable kingdom, part 5

25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

When the nations see these things they are filled with perplexity. But when we see them we are filled with faith because the Lord told us we would see them.

26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

This is where we see who has unshakeable faith and who doesn't. Myocarditis is a side effect of the Covid vaccine and we are seeing men's hearts failing them on an unprecedented scale, but it is about to become much, much worse when we get the three days of darkness and everything else that takes place during this seven year tribulation.

27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

This is the end. One reason it is so glorious is because people went through so much suffering for the Lord's name, and they lived by faith, and they were mocked and ridiculed.

28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

When everyone else is hanging their head in shame, when everyone else is terrified and their heart is failing, lift up your head, the salvation which you have been preaching is drawing nigh.

How does the Lord build up an unshakeable kingdom, part 6

29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; 30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. 31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. 32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. 33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Our faith must believe that heaven and earth will pass away but the Lord's words will not pass away. That is what makes our faith unshakeable. What gives us peace that passeth all understanding is that we understand what is going on while everyone else is perplexed and terrified. In verse 28 we are told to look up when we see these things begin to pass and in verse 29 the signal that these things are beginning to come to pass is when the UN was formed in 1945 and then established a bunch of countries (trees) in the Middle East including Israel in 1948. That was the signal to us to look up and know that our redemption draws near. We are also given the time range which is one generation. In Psalm 91 we are told that this is 70 to 80 years in length. When you are speaking in decades you are talking about a ten year period. So 70 = 65-74, and 80 = 75-84. The generation that is most willing to repent and follow the Lord passes away 74 years after they were formed. For the UN that would be 2019 the year Covid19 was released in China. For Israel that would be 2022, prior to the invasion by Hamas in 2023.

34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. 35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

Think about the term "binge watching", that is to be overcharged with surfeiting. During the Covid lockdown it gave me lots of extra time. I saved close to two hours a day because I didn't need to commute, and it was even easier than that for me since I had already created a complete online curriculum for my students. I used the extra time to dive into the word of God and journal what I was discovering on a blog which ultimately became this blog. But that is not what others did. They binge watched TV. They were overcharged with drunkenness as extra money was given to people during the pandemic and then when the reality of the inflation hit they were overcharged with the cares of this life.

The day of the Lord comes as a snare on all them that dwell on the earth. You don't see a snare, you are walking along the path and by surprise you trip a snare and get caught. This is how it will come on the earth.

36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

We should be extra vigilant. I saw a documentary of people who were the first to take the Covid vaccine in the US and who are now sick with many symptoms. They explain why they did that and why they were unsuspecting. But the truth is they were unsuspecting because they were not listening to the word of God. Because I had dived into the word during the Pandemic I had realized that the Day of the Lord was at hand, this was something the Bible prophesied. I also realized that Fauci was a liar. So when they announced they were mandating the vaccine I immediately knew something was not right and don't trust them. I was extra vigilant because of my time in the word and that is why I did not get snared by the vaccine. This is all part of what it means to have an unshakeable faith, you need the word of God to be a light to your path so that you can avoid the snares.

Jesus' ascension to heaven was not 40 days after the resurrection.

I have no idea why God a Minute is saying this (he says this 3:20 seconds into his video on Jesus not fulfilling Shavuot) because he has clearly been shown from the Bible that this is not true. So let's break this down, it is traditional teaching in Christianity that is easy to debunk.

Acts 1: 3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

This verse says very clearly that Jesus appeared to the disciples 40 days or more accurately 40 times. However, it is perfectly reasonable to interpret this as 40 times on 40 different days.

The first time was on the day of resurrection.

The Second time was eight days later: 26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.

So then, if Jesus appeared to them 40 days, then at the very least we are talking about 46 days after the resurrection.

The third time: John 21:14 This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead.

But the third time is when Peter went fishing on the Sea of Tiberius. They said they fished all night. So do you really think that as soon as Jesus appeared to Thomas Peter said I'm going fishing and everyone followed him? It could easily have been a few days later.

So it is perfectly reasonable to say it was 47-50 days after the resurrection, but it is definitely not Biblical to say it was 40 days.

Acts 1:4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

But this verse absolutely confirms when Jesus ascended. They are all in Jerusalem because everyone must go to Jerusalem for Shavuot. Jesus tells them not to depart from Jerusalem. They aren't going to depart until after Shavuot so this is telling you it is Shavuot. If this was before Shavuot, say everyone got there a day or two before the festival and Pentecost was on Shavuot then Jesus does not need to say this. They are definitely going to remain and not depart from Jerusalem.

Acts 1:13 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James. 14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

To abide in the upper room means you are sleeping and eating there as well as holding prayer meetings.

15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)

"Those days" means plural. They are abiding there for a number of days. One of the things they did was choose a replacement for Judas. They had prayer meetings, and they had a selection for another apostle.

Acts 2:8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? 9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, 10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God. 12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?

This indicates strongly this took place during a festival that people from all over came to Jerusalem for.

13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

The feast of new wine is listed in the Dead Sea scrolls, it takes place 50 days after the Feast of first fruits for wheat. That is 50 days after Shavuot. You can look at the harvest schedule for Barley, wheat and grapes in Israel and this will all make perfect sense. Now this is a very specific reference, they didn't say they were drunk, or that they were drunk on wine. They are saying they are drunk on new wine. Why the specific reference? That would make no sense unless this is the feast of new wine. Not only so but if New wine is made fifty days after Shavuot why would you assume they were drinking new wine 50 days before it is made? That makes no sense at all.

14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: 15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

This also would make no sense unless this is the feast of new wine. Why would the fact that it is 9am be proof they aren't drunk? However if you are saying that they are drunk on "New" wine the fact that it is 9 am would prove that this was not the case on one day of the year which is the feast of new wine. No one drinks the new wine until the priest blesses it, and he does that at 9 am.

I have no idea why Aaron at God A Minute wants to keep pushing the idea that Jesus ascended 40 days after the resurrection, this has been fully explained to him, the Bible is crystal clear and we have been warned by the Lord Jesus to beware of the traditional doctrine of the religious leaders.

Pentecost is considered the birth of the church. Jesus referred to the church in the gospels when He said this:

Matthew 9:17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

The church is the bottle, the Holy Spirit is the new wine. This was fulfilled on Pentecost which is fifty days after Shavuot.

Jesus ascended the mountain on Shavuot, just as Moses ascended the mountain on Shavuot.

He shares news about the UN saying that Israel must be divided into two states, that is a major prophetic fulfillment that takes place prior to Armageddon.

A very credible interpretation of Daniel 9:27 is that the Antichrist enforces this agreement, which would indicate that they will pass this agreement prior to the Antichrist being revealed to the world.

Luke 22:1 Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.

The Feast of unleavened bread is equated with Passover. It is a seven day feast. It indicates that the church during the entire church age will clean house and remove all the old leaven. Technically the leaven is the traditional teaching of the Jews. However, in 1 Corinthians Paul refers to old leaven of malice and wickedness, and unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. The only way we can get rid of the old leaven of malice and wickedness is by the cross of Christ.

We are told that the feasts of the Lord are "Holy Convocations", that means dress rehearsals. In the New Testament Paul told us they were a shadow of things to come. They are prophetic. Key events in Jesus life all happened on the Holy Days of the Lord. He was conceived, born, circumcised, crucified, resurrected and ascended all on Holy days of the Lord. Every one of those days are in the book of Leviticus and it is an important confirmation that Jesus is the Messiah. Because of this many look at the feasts of the Lord to see which ones might be a shadow of the rapture. I agree with this approach being sound scripturally, but think they should be looking at the New Testament since that is our covenant. Accordingly we have two days, two feasts that we are to keep. You could say "Passover" but that is not really true, what was "Passover" in the OT becomes the Lord's table in the New Testament. We have been charged to keep the Lord's table and that is certainly one of our Holy feasts of the Lord. But we are also told to keep Baptism, and that would include the second Holy day of the Lord in the New Testament, Pentecost, when the church was baptized in the Holy Spirit. Baptism includes both the idea of being buried with the Lord and being raised with the Lord. If the church age began on Pentecost and ends with the rapture it is reasonable to think that the rapture will be at Pentecost (not the day that the Catholic church celebrates it, that is bogus, true Pentecost is in August). However, the only ones who are desperately trying to figure out the day of the rapture are those looking for some shortcut in the Christian life. There is no shortcut, no cheat code. We all must take up our cross and follow the Lord and be buried in the likeness of His death. If you are buried in the likeness of His death you will be resting, in peace, until the rapture.

2 And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.

The chief priests and scribes are acting with malice and wickedness. They are like snakes in the grass. They fear getting trampled by the people so they have to strike in the dark when no one is watching.

3 Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.

The false prophet plays a prominent role in the Lord's crucifixion and also in the seventieth week in Revelation. He is almost invisible in the rest of the gospels until we come to the crucifixion and his betrayal. At the end of the age I believe the betrayal is when they make the covenant to split Israel and give the Palestinians a state for the sake of peace.

4 And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them.

Judas is talking to religious leaders, not to the Romans. So I think this is a reference to the ecumenical movement trying to betray the Evangelical Christians. There are two eternal covenants that are being resolved here. One is with Israel and one is with Christians.

5 And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.

Do you realize they just covenanted with Trump to give him money ($1 trillion in contracts) if he forces Israel to accept this Saudi peace deal splitting Israel and giving the Palestinians a state.

6 And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.

This is a hard job, in the absence of the multitude means at night.

7 Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.

These dates are very confusing, Jesus celebrates the Passover with His disciples and yet He is the Passover lamb that is slain the next day. This is why the dates on the calendar are so confusing, I believe it is very likely we will not be able to reconcile all of our questions until after we get to heaven.

Lord, where wilt thou that we should be preparing for your coming?

8 And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.

It wasn't simply the feast of unleavened bread that was a dress rehearsal. We all can view Peter as a reference to the Catholic church and John to the New Life movement. The entire church age can be summarized in its simplest form to these two.

9 And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare?

This is a big prayer that we should all be praying. Lord, where wilt thou that we should be preparing for your coming?

10 And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.

It seems everyone is using this as a sign of "when" as this describes one of the 12 constellations, but they weren't asking when, they were asking where. We should be preparing for the Lord's coming where there is a man bearing a pitcher of water. This is what we should be looking for, the meeting place should have water and it should have men who bear the burden to serve the Lord. Every church, every congregation will have women bearing the burden, the question is are there men. Not self important men, but men doing the menial tasks.

11 And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guest chamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?

Again, this reminds many of Isaiah 26, but we aren't talking about when, we are talking about where. The church needs a guest chamber, by that I mean they need to be open and welcoming to the new ones. If you come to insular church, or one in which the men are elevated treating the women as those who are to do menial tasks, or one in which the only ones who bear the burden are the women, or to a church that is dry without any water, well those are not the right places to be to prepare.

12 And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.

But let's say you do find such a church, they have the large upper room and it is furnished. Well then you need to roll up your shirt sleeves and help to prepare.

13 And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.

Behold, the hand of him that betrayeth the Lord is at the table

14 And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.

Once again, this is a perfect reference to the rapture, but not to when, rather it is answering the question "where". Everyone asks the wrong question. The right question is where will the rapture be, and the answer is "where the Lord is sitting with His apostles". Jesus is the incarnated word, and the apostles were the writers of this word. Just because a church claims to be a church doesn't mean they have the Lord and the apostles sitting with them. Think of Laodicea with the Lord locked out of the church. Think of Thyatira who has Jezebel pretending to be a prophetess. Think of Sardis which is pretending to be alive but is dead.

15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer: 16 For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.

This is very clear, the church age begins with this meal and it will end with us eating with the Lord at the marriage feast. This is why I look at this portion and the book of Acts as book ends mirroring what will happen at the end of the age.

17 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves: 18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.

This is a very interesting verse because in Mark it says drinking it "New" and in Matthew it says drink it "New". This seemed to be a hint as "New wine" is made in August. The other thing that stands out is this word "divide". This is not the same word that is used by Matthew and Mark concerning a house divided. Instead it is the word that Matthew uses which says "they parted the Lord's garments" and it is also the word that Luke uses in Acts for Pentecost saying "cloven tongues". This word is only used here and not in the other gospels. We speak the gospel in many different tongues, the churches have many different issues they are dealing with, but for all of us what makes us one is that it is the same wine that we are drinking.

19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. 20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.

There is a very clear distinction here, the first time they divide the cup it is the Passover feast, the second time it is the Lord's table.

21 But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.

This is enlightening, even in a proper church with brothers and sisters serving the Lord, washing one another's feet, preparing for the Lord's coming with the word of God, even in such a church you will have a Judas. Think of bacteria, your skin is covered with bacteria, it doesn't harm you because you are healthy, but the minute you are not healthy it will act. You will get Jezebel, you will get people pretending to be a live, and ultimately you will see a church that locks Jesus out of the church. If we are healthy, drinking pure water, eating the pure word, fellowshipping with all, and serving the Lord even though the hand of him that betrayeth the Lord is there, he will be powerless. So we should pray knowing that this "bacteria" is always with us, just the slightest hint of pride will let this bacteria strike.

22 And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!

Yes, let's look closely at that man by whom Jesus is betrayed.

23 And they began to enquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing. 24 And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.

Which of them? The part of them that desires to be accounted greatest. These kind of lustful thoughts bring forth sin. The question we should all be asking is how to get that sin out of our life. You will never fully get it out, just like the bacteria on your skin. So really the focus is on how to stay healthy with the Lord.

25 And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. 26 But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.

Being a servant is not the "cure" to sin. No, for us to have the same mind as Christ who humbled Himself, became a servant even dying on the cross, that is the best indication that you are healthy with the Lord. On the other hand if you are worrying about who is accounted the greatest that is the first sign of sickness creeping in.

27 For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.

Isn't that something! Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Don't just behold Judas, he is the one sitting at meat, behold those who are with you serving.

28 Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations.

Look at those who have persevered with the Lord through temptations to leave Him.

29 And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;

We have a saying, if you want to be champion you must defeat the champion. Sin, flesh, covetousness, pride, arrogance, this is the champion of the flesh. If you want to rule and reign with Jesus you must put the flesh to death on the cross of Christ.

30 That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

When we have no choice but to contend for the faith

Luke 22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

This happens to every believer who has a ministry. You will be sifted, your faith will fail not, and then when you come out of this trial on the other side you will have a ministry. Paul said that with what comfort we have been comforted with we should comfort others. A few days ago I was talking to a sister who was recently divorced and now her ex is trying to poison her children against her so that they won't spend time with her. Others had shared with her that in the end the truth will come out. But she realizes that four or five years in a child's life is a very long time and even if the truth does eventually come out she knows those kids need her now. So I shared with her my experience which I refer to as a paper tiger. I was active in the church speaking at the meetings (our church meeting had a time for everyone to share testimonies after the message). One night everything turned and brother after brother stood up to attack me. They didn't use my name but it was obvious to all who they were talking about. After the meeting I am standing alone, awkwardly trying to figure out what just happened. At that time a boy about ten to twelve years old came up to me and shared with me a song they sing in the children's meeting "you can talk about me just as much as you please, I'll talk about you down on my knees". So I took that as a word from the Lord about what I should do. I went home, got on my knees and prayed and the verse I was led to was in Galatians where Paul said he didn't give place to them for five minutes. So the very next meeting when they opened it for testimonies I was the first to jump up and speak. They were all in shock, one brother even stuck out his hand trying to prevent me from standing up. But it was clear, if you have something against me then the elders should tell me to sit down. The fact that they didn't exposed the entire thing as a "paper tiger" (if you aren't familiar with this term think of a football game where the home team has made a big paper banner of the opponents mascot and then they run through that banner ripping it apart). I also learned that the "they" who were behind this represented a minority of the saints and perhaps as much as 80% of the saints had been praying for me. I shared this with the sister to let her know you don't have to wait four years for the truth to come out, don't give place to them for even five minutes.

33 And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.

We have to have these experiences before we are ready. Jesus had been running interference for the last 42 months and He is letting Peter know the minute he gets in there as quarterback he is going to be sacked. When you watch a pro like Tom Brady play quarterback it can look easy. However, if you know what it is to actually play quarterback in the NFL you can appreciate much more all the little things he is doing. You'll appreciate his training and his skill. Now you take another person who was a great quarterback in college, put him in to replace Brady and then it will really be obvious. When Tom Brady went to Tampa Bay Buccaneers he was replaced by Cam Newton. Cam was a first overall draft pick in 2011. That is eleven years after Brady who was drafted 199th overall. By all estimations he was younger, stronger, and more talented. But I had a cousin from Boston and he was lamenting that Cam Newton was trash. Sometimes you need to make that change to fully appreciate someone. Peter is following Jesus, he doesn't fully appreciate how spectacular Jesus is until He is gone. He thinks he can simply step in and fill His shoes.

34 And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.

Is this where we get the expression "cocky". To be cocky is to express Satan thinking he has put some Christian to shame.

35 And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing. 36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

Do you understand? This word blows my mind. When Jesus was with us we were champions, we lacked nothing. But once He is gone everything changes. I have a very hard time seeing the rapture in Shavuot. That was a picture of Jesus ascending the mountain. If that is the shadow of the rapture it would make the number of raptured saints very small (like 1 in a million) and it would equate the raptured saints to the Lord Jesus in His ascension. That blows my mind. It is much easier for me to see the event where Moses descends from the mountain, breaks the tablets and calls the Levites up as a shadow of the rapture. But this verse here is equating what happens to Christians after the rapture compared to before. And it is likened to what happens to Peter after Jesus leaves!

37 For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.

The word that stands out to me is "must". I don't think many appreciate the need for this to happen or understand. If Jesus is not reckoned among the transgressors He will not be in a position to judge the world. Righteous judgement says "as you have done it will be done unto you" and "with what judgement you judge you shall be judged". If people are apathetic about Jesus there is no basis to judge them. Either they must embrace or reject Him and treat him unrighteously. This is a prerequisite to the judgement of Christ.

38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.

The word sword is a reference to the number seven. So two swords is a reference to 77. Interestingly Israel just turned 77 last week.

39 And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.

Learn from Jesus, we need to build up healthy practices of time in the word and prayer. He didn't simply go out to pray, it says "as he was wont" indicating this was His habit.

40 And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.

The Lord will guide us in our prayer. The word of God is a lamp unto our feet. At this moment they needed to be praying that they enter not into temptation. What temptation? The temptation to deny the Lord in the face of persecution. When I was attacked in that church that was the temptation, curl up in a ball. I used to sail in the ocean and when a big storm comes your way you have to face it head on. If the boat is turned to the side the waves can flip the boat over. If you try to run with the wind behind you the storm will run you onto the rocks. It may look scary but the boat is designed to hit those waves head on.

41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, 42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

Jesus knew exactly what time it was and what was coming. Jesus is a master general, He has all the intelligence of the battlefield, He is praying about the best strategy. If it is possible we are to be at peace with all men. They can insult you, that is fine, but they can't violate the items of the faith. If they do that we have no choice but to stand firm and hit them head on. We could go into a very long message explaining how rejecting Jesus as the Messiah is going against all the items of the faith. But that is not necessary. They are denying that Jesus is Lord, that alone is sufficient reason for us to contend for the faith. Hence that cup could not be taken away.

43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.

That is a clear answer. Jesus is praying is there any way to avoid a fight and instead God sends an angel to help him tape up his hands and lace up the gloves.

44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. 45 And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,

One response to what is coming is sorrow. A billion people will die. I am reminded of the movie Cinderella Man where his wife was terrified of him going to fight the championship fight with a fighter who had killed several other fighters in the ring.

46 And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.

In Luke we only see this charge once. In Mark we see it twice and in Matthew we see it three times. I think Luke refers to those that are raptured prior to the seven year tribulation, this word is spoken to believers who are asleep. In Mark it is referring to those who are left behind so this word is spoken to them twice, they didn't wake up the first time. In Matthew it is spoken three times to the Jews who are saved at the end of the seven year tribulation. It took hearing this three times before they woke up.

Luke 21:1 And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury. 2 And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites. 3 And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all: 4 For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.

Think of Ruth as an example of a poor widow who has cast in all the living that she hath. Boaz noticed her just as Jesus noticed this woman. Also think of Esther as this poor widow who has cast in all that she hath as well. She was a Jew that was slated for extermination. She knew she could be put to death if the King did not receive her petition to speak to Him. What more do you have to offer other than your life. You can argue that she was the queen and therefore was not "poor". However, to have nothing and cast in everything is often easier than to have everything and cast in everything. Either way they are risking all that they have.

The Great and Terrible day of the Lord

Joel 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come.

We are told in Paul's epistles that the things which happened in the Old Testament are an example for us and that the feasts and other appointed days are a shadow of things to come. In fact the term the Bible uses is "holy convocation" which means a dress rehearsal. What I want to know is if there is a day in the Bible, either old Testament or New Testament that is both a great and terrible day, foreshadowing the day of the rapture.

The most terrible day in the OT was definitely, without any dispute, the 17th day of the second month. That was the day that the flood began. It is clearly a picture of the rapture because the Lord told us it would be as the days of Noah. That impacted the whole globe and all animals. The greatest day in the New Testament was the day of resurrection and the most terrible day was the day of crucifixion. So imagine we had a day that encompasses both the day of the flood and the day of the crucifixion!

According to this prophecy in Joel we need one day that is both great and terrible. Since God tells us the end from the beginning I want to see a shadow or dress rehearsal for the coming of the day of the Lord. Only God can do this.

May 14th 1948 was the day that Israel walked out of the graves of the Holocaust and into the land. That is a picture of the day of resurrection, but is certainly a month after Passover. But like the story of Exodus this becomes the first day of the month to Israel. It is their birthday. So even though it is the second month we can view this as Nisan 1, but it is the second month because Israel is getting a second chance.

May 14, 2018 was also the day that the US moved the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. That was when Israel turned 70, another indication that May 14th is the first day of the year for Israel. Those are two witnesses.

In the old testament in the second month you can participate in 2nd Passover if you missed 1st Passover. Since the Jews missed 1st Passover this is a second chance for them. Guess what! That means that 2/17 on the Jewish calendar is just like 2/17 when Noah's flood happened (however the calendar for the Jews is off by six months relative to the calendar Noah was using).

The Lord prophesied it the day of the Lord would be like the days of Noah. He didn't say it would be exact, rather it would be like. The flood began on the seventeenth day of the second month in Noah's time and so it is reasonable to see the flood of the Lord's judgement to begin on the seventeenth day of the second month today. But it is even more amazing since the fourteenth and fifteenth day of the fifth month "5/15) is the day that the curse ended on the Jewish calendar, and is also the day they got up out of the graves and were able to enter the land of Israel. That is the 15th of Av. So on this one day we can see references to all three days. It is the great day of the 15th of Av, and it is the terrible day of the Lord's crucifixion, just like Noah's flood.

Now here is where it goes from freaky coincidence to God is telling us something. According to the Prophecy of Saint Malachy after the 112th Pope judgement comes. Pope Francis death was the death of the 112th Pope and so we have a prophecy that his death will bring the judgment. At the time of Noah we had the exact same prophecy concerning Methuselah. But it is even stranger, he died on Resurrection day according to the apostate church (true it was no longer resurrection day in Rome, but it still was resurrection day for about 20% of the earth). The death of Methuselah signaled when Noah and his family entered the ark, imagine if this prophecy of the Pope's is similar to that prophecy indicating when the tribulation is to begin.

In conclusion it is a great and terrible day. The odds of this being one giant coincidence is astronomical.

Shining a light on the powers of darkness

Luke 22:47 And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him. 48 But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?

Traitors often feel unloved or undervalued. This may be the case with Judas and why he betrayed the Lord with a kiss. We are told he is a thief, but after betraying the Lord he throws the money back to the priests so I don't think it was about money and I certainly don't think it was ideological. Judas was the only apostle from Judea, and he was older than the others. Whenever he is mentioned he is listed last and almost completely ignored by the other apostles. Apparently this word of the Lord about him betraying Him with a kiss may have exposed the hypocrisy that it wasn't that he was unloved but rather was false about loving others. Right now we are watching Trump, the UN, and other world leaders compelling Israel to take this deal to split Israel into two states with the Palestinians. I think it is safe to expect the false prophet to be involved in betraying Israel.

49 When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword? 50 And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear. 51 And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.

This is the only gospel that has this account. In Mark the ear is cut off. No mention of Jesus touching it and healing it. Same thing in Matthew. In John we are told that it was Peter who cut off the ear. The crucifixion helps us get our ears healed. Think of Luke as the first time you go through the cross, you can get healed. Mark and Matthew refer to the second and third time for the left behind and the nation of Israel. If after the first time seeing the cross you are still one with the soldiers to crucify Jesus then the problem is worse. Instead of healed you lose an ear, and if you still persist with Israel you lose the other ear. It is one, two, three strikes you are out.

52 Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves? 53 When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.

The Lord's speaking here is not a defense of himself or an appeal for justice. His speaking is light shining on the darkness to help all those involved to see and maybe repent. I could be a guard and have no knowledge of why they want Jesus arrested. But I hear this word and it is very helpful to me to realize I'm working for evil powers. Perhaps I thought the priests represented God, but now I realize they represent the powers of darkness.
