Some people believe that the 7 Churches were in the first century but they were not.
They are Church ages which at that time were a popular influence among the people.

For in the first century without technology how can all the world be tempted with the same temptation at the same time when they did not know what each was doing with distances between them.

And the last Church where there are many hypocrites who love money and material things.
This can only happen at the time of technology.
Which the Bible says the last generation will devour the poor from off the earth and the needy from among men.
Which technology allows money to flow like a raging river and people can make heap more money to themselves because they can branch out farther and reach more people and creates a lot of jobs.
Which we see millions of dollars and billions of dollars is not enough for them and people in general seek money and material things not caring too much about other people.
The saints could not heap so much money and material things to themselves unless there is technology.
Which it is a popular influence at this time with millions of Christians involved which there is no way the Christians could be heaping and keeping in the first century.
But today it can happen because of technology.

In short, today's organized religious institutions are the synagogue of satan as they teach his deceptions and wrap it all up in religious garb to try and make it sound like it's teaching from the Lord. Most fall for it which is why Jesus said few are saved - Matthew 7:13,14
Which does not mean they were following the law of Moses and living under the old covenant law as some claim in their ongoing error.

You obviously did not take any notice of what Scott said. I'm no fan of organised religion, but your concept of salvation is false. It has nothing to do with the church people attend. It has everything to do with accepting Christ, confessing Him as Lord and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead.
Could have been Jewish people rejecting fully against Jesus Christ.. that would be them. So today .. the same kind of thing to all.. if they are not for me they are against me. It seems some are getting stuck on a word synagogue. You should not

So I guess Peter (before he was baptized with the Holy Spirit) would’ve been one of those “fake Christians”?

No, He was an Apostle.
The only times he was a fake Christian was when He denied Christ and when he was trying to live as an OT Jew and had to be corrected by Paul but both times Peter repented and turned back to the Lord
Jesus taught there would be tares among us who are actually servants of the devil sent to corrupt Christians to trick them in to turning away from the Lord. As always He was right and today we see a lot of false brethren trying to draw Christians in to false doctrine.

Jesus said we SHOULD judge. He tells us to judge righteously
John 7:24 - Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
The only way to judge righteously is to compare what people do and say to what God's Word teaches.
He also warns that we will be judged with the judgement that we judge with (reap what we sow - Gal 6:7,8)
Matthew 7:2 - For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
So, if someone is believing or doing something that is obviously in opposition to what God's Word teaches... it's not "judging" them to point out what they believe or do is in opposition to what God's Word teaches
By the same token, we should apply God's Word to ourselves and we should actually judge ourselves
1 Corinthians 11:31 - For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
The purpose of this is to submit ourselves to the Lord so that He does not have to judge us as spoken of in 1 Corinthians 11:32.... the Lord would much rather have us come to Him in submission and ask / believe for His leading / teaching so we can keep ourselves on the path that leads to life and not get off on the path that leads to death (separation from God)
