This reminds me of a story that Billy Gibbons (of ZZ Top fame), related in a "session" recorded for the "Live At Daryl's House" program, regarding a conversation he had with B.B. King (of Lucielle fame), at some show the both of these were in. B.B. had asked to see Billy's guitar. After examining his guitar for a bit, B.B. asks Billy as to why he had such heavy strings on his guitar. To which Billy explained that it was how he got that BIG SOUND out of his guitar. To which (wait for it...here it comes

In your reading of the "Gospels", did ya ever notice the frequency that Our Lord "Lit out by Himself" to pray? And, have you ever took a consideration as to a why, He did this.......AND SO OFTEN?
Was it so He and the Father could "map out" the "plan of attack", for that day's activities?
It would seem that the "plan" had already been mapped out, some time ago.
Tis my thinking, in my pondering/s, that Jesus needed to "excuse" Himself, not only from the masses, but also from His disciples, due to vexation of Spirit, and flesh, in His dealings, so as to keep the "lines of communication free and open, betweenst He, and His Father, who was in Him! Elstwise, He would not have survived to become our Passover Lamb!

if different people read different things into verses then there is no point in citing verses. SHOW WHERE THEY ARE WRONG in their verses. AND IF YOU CAN'T DO THAT PERHAPS YOU SHOULD SHUT UP ?

But I guess that guy was friendly and didn't call you names and force you to look in the mirror. That's what some try to do here. Some pharisaic residal in me? Lol now that would really surprise me. Hahahahaha I've been accused of the opposite. It's really bad this name calling. Some call others pharisees. Others call the non pharisees wolves. There are no wolves nor pharisees and if a wolve creeps in that wants to eat granny we now have Txroads with a loaded gun.
There is actually a wolve here. The devil. Only thing that shoots him away is praise. So let's go praise our brothers and sisters with an emphasis on the Word and those with an emphasis on grace and the Holy Spirit and for a change look at the good things they say and pray for our 'enemies' and we get revival.

Then just look at the things you agree on or praise them because of other things they do. We had a thread on another forum with a lot of fights: compliment the poster above you. It's easy to see what you don't like.
We had one woman. Everyone was mad at her. A Dutch refprmed quite calvinistic forum and she started to teach about the signs in the stars and Jesus going to England when He was 12, such stuff. So I said: what's so nice about her is that she always stays calm, man they were calling her names, and the patience to go on and on and on. Lol she was so happy with it. You can always find something positive. Unity is the most important thing. When we are one the world will know that He sent us.
Same as the Speak Your Mind thread. A lot of good friendly peeps congregate there. It's like one big happy family.

Even if it were true, try explain that to an unbeliever. Oh those are false christians. That's why I treat 'em like that. It's not a good testimony. Even on atheist forums people are kinder to each other and don't do name calling.

Are you sure you're from Texas? Don't be insulted but you sound like some of my family. And they're from Virginia. I think it's the tater gun that messed me up on the accent. Do real Texans use tater guns? Taters just ain't big nuff for Texas, are they?

I've only been here a few days, and what I've seen s far from people is abhorrent and deplorable. There is much worse behavior from people on these forums...CHRISTIAN forums, then I have seen on many other forums. Secular, atheist forums have more polite, more friendly exchanges than what I have seen on these forums right here.
Oh, but don't call anyone out on it because you'll see their fangs come out.
I'm not a Christian and I make no secret of that fact. I'm trying to decide if it's the right choice for me. If becoming a Christian means being haughty and arguing with my fellow Christians while throwing verses of scripture around to make my point for me, while cementing myself in a very narrow box of doctrine...then maybe I don't want to become a Christian.
I was under the mistaken impression that Christians were supposed to act as "Christ-like" as they can, but it appears that a whole lot of them act like petulant children who need a spanking and sent to their room without supper.
