For those of you backsliders who occasionally enjoy a good neat whisky, might I suggest you try Tincup? Blended in Colorado, made somewhere in the Midwest....
It's rapidly becoming my "go-to" adult beverage. Very nice, smooth, with an almost vanilla-like aroma/flavor.
avg price about $23.... definitely affordable.
You may now resume normal programming.
Maybe we need a dedicated liquor thread?
Well anyway, you got me started.
I'm a whiskey guy who takes time off in the summer to be a tequila
guy, and recently found out by accident I'm also a vodka guy.
If I weren't a budget drinker, I'd try more of these "craft" boozes.
What I buy mostly is called Idaho Gold Canadian at about $18-a-handle.
For that price you'd think it'd be rot-gut, but it's not.
It's very good mixed with 7-Up and a lime wedge.
Another bargain I've recently discovered is Seagram's vodka.
When it goes on sale it's less than $20-a-handle and is excellent in juice.
Concerning tequila, one should only drink
it if it says "100% agave" on the label.
Anything else is what's known as a "mixto",
and those are what give tequila a bad reputation.
Hornitos and Herradura are our brands of choice, but they're
kind of expensive, so only purchased very occasionally.
Best bang for the buck seems to be Lunazul.
I must sound like a raging drunkard, but it's not the case.
We just enjoy drinks on occasion,
and won't justify buying top-shelf booze when
there are mouths to feed and bills to pay.
Salud!
