Our son is a weed smoker, has been for most of his adult life. It seems to help him with his ADD, or whatever he has.
He says that you can buy chocolate candies in Colorado that are made with some form of cannabis. He told me "if you ever try one, don't eat a whole piece. Only eat about half of one... they will 'kick your ass' " He said his mother and father in law split one, and they laughed nearly all night.
I've never really enjoyed what little weed smoking I tried, back in my wilder days. I prefer alcohol for relaxation.... and it only takes one or two drinks to relax. Anything beyond that is getting into "buzzed" territory for me.
You should talk to a doctor about whether a cannabis type of thing would help you. I think it would be vastly preferable to any of the mood altering drugs they are prescribing like candy these days... Those are usually some sort of amphetamine kind of thing, IIRC.
I also believe that any kind of drug taken for depression should only be taken for a limited amount of time, just to take the edge off, so that you can process whatever grief or other issue you have. I don't like the idea of people living on those drugs, year after year.
Hey, I'm glad it helps him.
That's great. I have P.T.S.D and D.I.D. While it's entirely possible that I
could have a negative reaction to cannabis and become paranoid, it's a risk I'm willing to take. Alcohol has become a blight in my life. I tend to drink too much of it because I want so desperately to escape certain levels of emotional turmoil that I live with on a regular basis. Addiction seems to be a pattern for people with P.T.S.D and personally, I don't want to feed it.
The neat thing about cannabis is that you get some level of tolerance to it, I think, so that after you feel the intense euphoria, you get this steady-sort of high that keeps you stable. This is what I am hoping for and working towards maintaining. If I can get into this sort of routine, after receiving my medical marijuana card, then I think it may make my life far, far more livable.
I'm wholeheartedly
against any sort of pharmaceuticals. I'm far more against psychiatric drugs than anything. As far as I'm concerned, I don't even call them 'medicine', but rather, "drugs". I think that anything you take that is generally for your well-being, but ultimately makes you sicker in the long-run isn't really a medicine, but rather, only a poison. Just my take on it. A lot of people are gung-ho on any type of drug their doctor gives them.
Me, I don't even see medical doctors. I prefer naturopaths
only. If I can't survive beyond the aid of a naturopath, so be it. I'm leaving the rest in God's hands, not that I care very much for this world, anyway.
Thanks for sharing what your son said about cannabis.
I find it very helpful.
