Christians in the news?
What's the topic?
1.Abortion
2.Gay Marriage
3.Prayer/10 commandments in public places
4.insert current republican economic issue
These are what we are known for.
The actual reason for my post lol is because I feel like ranting... The christian talk/sermon station with the best reception in my town has like a 1 or 2 hour show everyday in rush hour primetime, american's for civil justice I believe is the political groups name who airs the show it seems. The topic is always political from what I can tell and our christian banner for this current time is Healthcare. I suppose that social healthcare is sinful, now a main talking point I concede is public funding for banner #1 Abortion, which I am against ofcourse. The thing is I'm pretty sure with all possibility of that being funded excluded they would still be trying to excite the 'christian base' to fight public healthcare funding. If I wanted to listen to this stuff I could flip on rush or something.
I suppose that Jesus is against high taxes, regulations of just about any sort, socialism, and the entire liberal agenda.
Just to cover 1 through 3 a bit so things aren't assumed.
1. Abortion- It's bad, it's a sin, at what point a soul is in a baby doesn't even need to be considered to consider it that. That being said, christians on the news at abortion clinics with posters of how bad it is, sometimes with looks of rage screaming and carrying on, not to mention bombings or anything doesn't help matters I think. Much less show the character of our savoir.
2.Gay marriage- I think it's the man laying with a man that's the sin, so making the big deal on the marriage part tends to just look biggoted when no mention is made of the rampant fornication that takes place in the heterosexual community. Ever try witnessing to a gay person? All that they hear about from us is that they are going to hell BECAUSE they are gay. We all should know there are so many sins on the most moral of men's heads that the gay part is just a piece of the pie. Now the matter INSIDE of the church is a whole other issue.
3.Prayer/10 commandments- What ever happened to don't be like the pharisees? Can they stop you from praying? I don't know, but it seems like a bit of this one is people wanting to let everyone know that they are a christian by them praying. Is that supposed to be fruit or something? Secular people are really going over the line lately with all the things they are trying to remove but making a big stand on the 10 commandments seems hypocritical being made by someone who themselves has broke every one and some point in their lives. Remember what you were saved from?
My ranting done, I do believe these 3 should be defended by christians, BUT they should not be our banner, that should always be Christ. He said you will know us by our LOVE.
God Bless
