Local Baptist preachers family sitting at my table at an event at the local Bible camp, Holy spirit manifested, he came over and spoke of how it doesn't happen anymore, I was able to share, "your whole family just experienced what you say God isn't doing anymore".

Teaching as doctrines the traditions of men is how they become fossilized. Forsaking the word of God is how they become empty and devoid of the Holy Spirit.

They have a denomination for that. It's called non-denominational. There's a few of those in EVERY area.

And as far as the SBC.....the difference is in the "C".....its a convention.....meaning each church is unique to themselves and COMPLETELY INDEPENDENT. No one tells them what to believe or preach or how to conduct their church duties. You join the Convention because you agree with crucial key doctrines and want to support missions and missionaries who need support.
An SBC church doesn't have to preach OSAS or TULIP or even have never divorced deacons. The deacons can have various duties that may have nothing to do with church administration....some churches have a board of directors or executive council....again all are unique and different.

Individual churches....even denominational churches with specific, unique doctrines are more about community than specific doctrines they may or may not give lip service to....and they may hold to doctrines that are NEVER breathed out loud.

I've lived coast to coast....WATCH and listen to what they really do....not so much to what some founder said and did 200 years ago

What I think about the Catholic church?

1. I think Jesus refers to them in Revelation 2 as the church in Thyatira. I think they suffer the woman Jezebel who calls herself a prophetess but teaches the children of God to eat things sacrificed to idols and to commit fornication.

2. However, I think there are also people in the Catholic church who have not known the deep things of Satan and they can overcome.

As for Jezebel, the deep things of Satan and the Vatican, I don't care, Jesus will take care of them.
 
Seems we went about a generation after an initial revelation before straying from the original inspiration and walk.

RCC of course is a totally different situation, the blending of pagan beliefs with His Church was way overboard.
