Hmm... Bisquick has uses. Mom makes a killer deeeeeeeep dish pizza with a bisquick crust. It doesn't make real biscuits though.

And canned biscuits are not fit for anything. Don't get me started.

I'd have a heart attack if someone told me to use canned biscuits. I've made so many scratch biscuits in my life, it's just second nature to me at this point in my life.

One of my favorite dishes is homemade gravy over homemade biscuits.

LoL 😆

Here's my banana pudding with meringue. I'll bring it to the potluck! No proposal necessary. I might should bring more than one though 🤔

HOLY CHAMOLY!!!

Move over Lynx...

If you don't propose marriage, I JUST MIGHT!! 🥸 (Just kidding, everyone!)

Seriously.

I LOVE meringue, but usually on lemon desserts... I'm not so big on banana, but I would try ANYTHING made by @CarriePie at least once.

HOW do you get the peaks so evenly and perfectly browned???

I went through a phase of trying to make things just to see if I could (such as meringue,) and let's just say...

I found out I couldn't! 😂

Rachel Green off Friends tv sitcom

So what happens is she followed a recipe in a magazine or cookbook that had the pages stuck together. She was never a good cook like Monica (a professional chef) was.

The episode is hilarious. She made it for Thanksgiving. All the friends save Joey were pretending they liked it so as not to hurt her feelings.

Joey loved it! lol.

That's a pretty funny story!!!

And wasn't Rachel like the rich, bougie one? So it's kind of funny to think of her competing with Monica over cooking skills... (Not that a wealthy person can't cook, it's just that I thought that was one of the staples of the show -- that Rachel was used to having everything done for her, and couldn't do much on her own.)

I remember when Friends was all the rage. I was in grad school, and people said watching Friends every week was one of the things helping them get through all the stress.

I'm not sure why I didn't get into it.

I guess I just couldn't relate to any of the characters?

That dessert that Rachel made was utterly horrifying -- and hilarious!! 😂

Thanks very much for sharing it!! :D

It is amazing! Sour cream is an essential ingredient. So is colby cheese. A touch of garlic, but not enough to notice it has garlic in it. A bit of onion powder, the slightest bit of red pepper...

Ok, now you have me curious as to what Tater Tot Casserole would taste like with real sour cream...

I might have to look up a recipe for someone's next birthday or something.

OH NO HE DIDN'T!!!

Lynx just trash-talked my beloved canned biscuits!!!

Nnnnoooo!!

But, but...

What OTHER food packaging is going to make me jump out of my skin every. single. time. I open it -- because it makes me afraid of losing a finger in the process???

 💐

I've made a good many types of meringue desserts. I can certainly make you a lemon meringue dessert!

I went through a phase of trying to make things just to see if I could (such as meringue,) and let's just say...

I found out I couldn't! 😂

After I prepare the meringue, I gently smooth it out onto the pudding. Then I use a spatula (a scraper/silicon spatula) to tap all over the meringue to create peaks. I do this while the oven is preheating. Once it's in the oven, I keep a careful eye on it so that the meringue is baked just right.

Taste buds prepare for incredible smashingness!

When I was in my "trying to cook" phase, I TRIED making buttermilk biscuits...

They were neither light nor fluffy -- game of hockey (pucks), anyone?

But I don't eat biscuits very often, so (hangs head) I stick to the canned.

Yup, yup.

That's it!!

I'm definitely contemplating marriage!!! 😎🤩😍

(Just kidding everyone!)

But seriously.

Who WOULDN'T want to marry Carrie's cooking??!! 😂

During a conversation whilst in a relationship, I was told something along the lines of "you kinda scare me" lol. I was kinda baffled by this because I don't think I'm a scary person. So I asked, "What do you mean? Do I intimidate you?" His response, "Yes. Yes you do!" The reason I was given is because I'm smart, but maybe he meant smart alec 🤣 But anyway, it just goes to show that some guys prefer other assets over cooking abilities. I used to often hear that "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach." I think we're in a new age now 😅😆

I'm a country boy, that's all I can remember growing up. I can do a mean breakfast.

Lasagna attempt one - fail

I need to go buy a dish to bake the lasagna in!

I thought I had all the ingredients ready but forgot this part. Oh well at least I got the mince and tomato sauce done.
