T4Likewise, my brothers, you also have died to the law through the body of Christ, so that you may belong to another, to him who has been raised from the dead, in order that we may bear fruit for God. 5For while we were living in the flesh, our sinful passions, aroused by the law, were at work in our members to bear fruit for death. 6But now we are released from the law, having died to that which held us captive, so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit and not in the old way of the written code.

The commandments are not the qualifier for truth. The LAW was given to expose, to show/illustrate sin. Anyone who keeps nagging on the law over and overe, surely must have a problem with sin?

Those who know Jesus as their Savior, those who have believed in Him, those who understand God's grace and His gift of eternal life through Jesus, understand, we KNOW, we cannot please God with self righteous efforts at law keeping or enumerating everything in scripture about sin/the law. That is ridiculous. No one can actually please God with such manufactured and fleshly human efforts at being 'good' or 'good enough'. These efforts will always fail and the reveal a personality that brags on itself and judges others who understand that on this earth and in this body, we cannot become as Jesus Himself and live a perfect and sinless life.

And that, is the exact reason God sent His only begotten Son to die in our stead.

It's all in the Bible. However the only caveat, is that you must agree with what the Bible says. There are 66 books in the Bible and the Lord Jesus Christ is written about, prophesied and declared throughout all of scripture.

This seems pretty clear to me, but I guess people are free to believe as they wish-

1 John 2:4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Jesus said If you love Me, keep My commandments John14:15 Exo20:6 Jesus is the Truth, the way, the life John14:6 and He would never lead us down the wrong path.

Paul said that the Law of God is the good that he wanted to do in contrast with the law of sin, which was hindering him from doing the good that he wanted to do. The way to become unified with Christ is not by dying to the law that he taught, but by dying to a law that was hindering us from follow what he taught, namely the law of sin. Likewise, the way to bear fruit for God is not by dying to God's instructions for how to bear fruit for him but to a law what was hindering us from doing that, namely the law of sin. Likewise, the a law stirs up sinful passions in order to bear fruit unto death is not the good that Paul wanted to do, but rather that is the role of the law of sin, and a law that holds us captive to sin is not the God that Paul wanted to do, but rather it is the law of sin that he described as holding him captive to sin (Romans 7:23)

The Law of God is truth (Psalms 119!42). If you agree that the Law of God reveals what sin is and that we should refrain from doing what God has revealed to sin, then you should be arguing in favor of obeying it.

Jesus saves us from our sin (Matthew 1:21) and it is by the Law of God that we have knowledge of what sin is (Romans 3:20), so Jesus graciously teaching us to be a doer of it is intrinsically the way that he he giving us his gift of saving us from not being doers of it, which is the way to know him as our Savior, the way to believe in him, and the way to understand God's grace and His gift of eternal life through him. This is also why Jesus said in Matthew 7:23 that he would tell those who are workers of lawlessness to depart from himbecau ehe never knew them. Rather, the way to please God is by obediently submitting to His commands through faith and the way that we can't please God by refusing to submit to His commands. God did not give His law as instructions for how to be good enough to become self-righteous, so that has nothing to do with why we should obey it.

The LORD of the Sabbath is just that. The Sabbath is the seventh day of the LORD Exo20:10 Why anyone would try to tear down what Jesus is LORD of is beyond me, it sadly saying someone else is lording them. This whole idea that Jesus is a different God of the OT is a very sad deception, why Jesus said man is to live by every word of God quoting from the OT Mat4:4 majority of man of courses teaches something very different than what Jesus said. And that's the real issue.

The Lord's Sabbath rest has nothing to do with the seventh day.
It means to become a Christian, interpreting the OT in light of the NT instead of the reverse,
as you do do, resulting in self-deception while thinking yourself to be wise, idolizing a day of the week.

It does mean becoming a Christian but the way God spoke it, not the way man says changing the words of the LORD we are plainly told not to Pro30:5-6

Heb 4:4 For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”

Exo 20:1 And God spoke all these words, saying:

8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

The Lord made the seventh day and the Sabbath day interchangeable from Creation- who gives anyone authority to change what God said- no one. He is in His own Words called it the Sabbath of the LORD- the holy day of the LORD Isa58:13 Jesus who is God is this same God who spoke and wrote all of these words- this is the Sabbath He is LORD of the LORD who made everything Exo20:11 the Sabbath connects to God's Creation and Re-Creation Eze20:11 and the only God we are called to worship Rev14:7 its why the devil hates God's Sabbath and what it stands for and has attacked God's Sabbath in every direction. If we would only listen to what Jesus tells us not to follow man-made traditions over obeying the commandments of God. The 4th commandment is the same as the other 9 commandments- they are the commandments of God Exo20:6 God personally wrote them all Exo31:18 and all of them are under His mercy seat - changing the day to another day that God never blessed or sanctified may seem not like a big deal- but one tree was a big deal to God - its more about the authority and which voice we are going to subject ourselves to- what God said Exo20:8-11 and faithfully follow and join ourselves to Him and serve Him Isa56:6 or the voice behind who changed God's times and laws He warned us about Dan7:25. Man has made an idol out of another day which God related profaning the Sabbath to idol worship Eze20:16 its sad people don't stop to think if what we are teaching is the opposite of what God said - which side of this battle we are on. Its something I would seriously consider in prayer- our time here is short and once He returns our decisions are final Rev22:11

I see you omit part of the SL. The rest says, "Anyone who desecrates it must be put to death; whoever does any work on that day must be cut off from his people." (Exo. 31:14) No thanks, I will stick with NT Christianity, not your pseudo-version.

The is a death penalty for breaking all of the Ten Commandments- Breaking the 1st commandment Exodus 22:20 Breaking the 2nd commandment Exodus 32:27–28 breaking the 3rd commandment Leviticus 24:16 breaking the 4th commandment Exodus 31:14–15. Its not like we can pluck out the commandant we don't like and think it doesn;t apply to us. The wages of sin is death even in the NT Rom6:23 and sin is breaking the law of God 1John3:4 James 2:10-12 why all Ten Commandments is under the mercy seat of God Exo25:21 where justice and mercy will come together soon Rev11:18-19. There is no sin too great for our LORD but the one we don't turn from and seek His help in forsaking Pro28:13NKJV Exo20:6NKJV

We have only in this life to be rid of sin. We cannot enter heaven with sin. Death does not rid us from sin , death is an enemy.
1 Jn 1:7 says the blood of Christ cleanses us from ALL sin. Without holiness no man shall see the Lord. We are delivered from sin in this life or not at all!
Are you SDA? You neglect to include what else John had to say about sin.

"If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." John 1:8 How about this?

"This is a trustworthy saying, worthy of full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the worst."
1 Timothy 1:15.

Paul wrote to Timothy around AD64. This was about four years before he was executed. So he had been serving Lord Jesus for decades and still saw himself a sinner. So either you are better than Paul or you won't be in heaven.

Yes, and the worst forgivable sin is perverting the Gospel regarding the One who paid the penalty/atoned for humanity's sins so that we do not have to die (Gal. 1:6-9). It's not like we can apply the SL or the death penalty for disregarding any OT law when the NT does not apply it.

The only unforgivable sin is apostasy aka blasphemy against the HS (Heb. 6:4-6).

So Jesus basically wasted His time coming here?

People need to understand that your cult does not recognize the fact that Jesus death and resurrection began a new period in history. Jesus is the mediator of a New and better Covenant.

Actual Christianity does not recognize the SDA as a Christian organization. Christians do not follow Ellen your redeemer. We follow the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no death penalty for those in Christ and every time you say that, you dig yourself further into deception. Those who want to follow the law are actually under a curse.

10For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.” 11But that no one isjustified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.” 12Yet the law is not of faith, but “the man who does them shall live by them.”

13Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), 14that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Seems to me she is desecrating it right now.

I agree that Sabbatarianism is heretical akin to the Judaizers and circumcision group Paul opposed,
but perhaps it serves a purpose on CC of giving Christians the opportunity to practice apologetics/witnessing for Christ/the Gospel.

Yes indeed. I settled many of the questions raised about 50 years ago. It's been good to refresh myself on the truth about law vs grace.

Me too, but I have fine-tuned a few understandings and amended where I write what I believe down
(so I won't forget the way I would like to share it) since joining CC. Many amendments were prompted by discussions
with the Sabbatarians, Tulipists and Acts grinders (I just now coined that term for those who stop reading the NT
at Acts 2 and Mark 16 :^).

Well said about the "believers" who reject the epistles. There are many who subscribe to what I call "Christianism". Paul describes it as the form of godliness without the power. They talk about grace but only as a means to obey the law and do "good" works.

No real believer wants to sin. And that is where the legalists get it wrong. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. All they can talk about is sin and law. It's called deflection in psychology. It paints others black to make themselves look white.
