Ever since I was delivered from the whole Left Behind worldview, I've honestly just taken the stance of "What does it matter?" when it comes to end times doctrines, While I don't believe in any form of rapture teaching, I find the debate of the timeline of tribulation a trivial matter. Until I meet with my Savior in whatever way He sees fit, should I care about how bad any tribulation is and when it occurs, as long as I'm walking as closely to Him as possible all the time?

So to those who find this topic important, with all respect and humility, I'm curious as to why?

That's actually an attitude set for disaster.

The reason is because God's Word warns us many times about the coming of a false-Messiah that will exalt himself as God with the power of miracles to fool the whole world into thinking he is God.

So if you didn't listen to Lord Jesus and His Apostle's warnings about that future event for the very end of this world, then it means you will have set yourself up for disaster in possibly getting tricked into thinking that false-Messiah that comes first is actually our Lord Jesus Christ. It would mean Jesus warned you, but you didn't listen to Him. How do you think He will feel about you treating Him that way when He appears?

This is the very matter of why Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 11 said he wants to present us to Christ, our True Husband, as "a chaste virgin", that being meant in the spiritual sense. What's the opposite of that? not being found spiritually chaste waiting on Jesus, but instead as a spiritual harlot having fallen away in deception to the false-Messiah that comes first.

That was a very foolish reply. I have been a student of Holy Scripture for thirty plus years... you don't think I know what is taught by our Lord as recorded in Matthew or Mark? Really brother, you should desire to listen (read) as well as talk (type).
I don't care if you claim to have been born with a Bible in your hands, you reveal that you actually don't know what The Bible teaches by what Jesus Himself showed with His coming to gather His Church AFTER... the tribulation, like He said...

Matt 24:29-31
29
Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31
And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
KJV

Therefore, the "foolish" reply is definitely yours!

Easy, there's no need to stretch it.
I don't like being called "foolish", especially when I quoted a Bible Scripture given directly by Lord Jesus Christ. Those in Christ need to stand up for theirselves instead of trying to soothsay to keep from offending those who need correcting.

Jesus commanded the church to teach all things.
All things are in the Scripture, from Gen. to Rev.
If it is not important, not necessary, not to be studied and known, why is it there?
NO SCRIPTURE IS TRIVIAL!!!
No Scripture is trivial. But the endless debate of something that is going to happen in one form or another, and is a moot point if we're living in obedience to the Holy Spirit, seems trivial to me. Instead of pursuing when something will happen, I find it more useful to the Kingdom to teach others how to overcome, whenever and however it happens.

Your attitude is not a good one. Do you come into this chat to discuss views or to simply spout what you believe?

I am trying to be helpful and give you reasons to possibly reconsider your stand. Such as the following points:
1.) Christ was speaking to Jews on Jewish ground in Matthew 24 and not to His church exclusively.
2.) Many of the things mentioned in Matthew 24:27-31, are not even alluded to in 1 Thes. 4:13-18.
3.) Is verse 31 talking about the church or the ingathering of the Jews from the four corners of the world?

The great commentator John Gill, made this observation about this verse:
The Jews (h) say, that "in the after redemption (i.e. by the Messiah) all Israel shall be gathered together by the sound of a trumpet, from the four parts of the world.

(h) Zohar in Lev. fol. 47. 1.

And we must remember, God has elect Jews as well. Rom 11:5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

What say ye?

This particular section of the forums can get people upset very quickly. But it is also a good place to practice the self-control the Holy Spirit gives us. After a while, you'll learn how to defend the Word and not get emotional about it if you go into this with His help.

If it makes you feel any better, you DO have the truth on your side in regard to when the Lord collects us - which is AFTER the great tribulation. You will be ready for the severe persecution that will come upon all Christians when the antichrist is revealed. On the other hand, all the people here being smug against you won't be. So we need to pray for them that they stop loving the lie or else be deluded with all its terrible consequences.

It's surprising how many of my Christian brethren follow a bunch of men of what the future "great tribulation" will be about instead of actually understanding about it per God's written Word.

There is so much sensationalism just dreamed up about it, that it almost reminds me of how some of God's people also love to celebrate things like Halloween with imagining evil spirits, devils, ghosts, etc., dressing up their homes and front yard with such representations, like some sporting gala.

Men's doctrine of a Pre-tribulational Rapture theory is especially responsible for much of this speculative sensationalism about the coming "great tribulation", as it is used as a scare tactic to aid the deceived into accepting their false pre-trib rapture idea, which is nowhere written in God's Word. As a matter of fact, Lord Jesus in Matthew 24:29-31 and Mark 13:24-27 revealed that His coming to gather His saints will be AFTER... the tribulation, not prior to it. Even what Apostle Paul showed in 1 Thessalonians 4 about Christ's future coming and gathering of His Church reveals it happens on the last day of this world when the future resurrection will happen.

One of the earliest pop pre-trib rapture propaganda was the 1970 book, The Late Great Planet Earth, by pre-trib author Hal Lindsay. A movie was even done in 1978 based on the book, and narrated by Hollywood actor Orson Welles.

Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins wrote the Left Behind book series starting in 1995, which continued to 2007 for a total of 13 books. Movies were made taken from the book series.

All that work by those pre-trib rapture authors sounds fantastic, and very successful, doesn't? Others on that pre-trib rapture doctrine have tried to have similar success with their books and films, but Lindsay and LaHaye's books top them all in popularity and success, generating millions of dollars!

The problem with that is, their stories are mostly fiction, and not truly Bible based.

There is no pre-tribulational rapture idea written in God's Word. Like I stated before, Lord Jesus Christ showed us that His coming to gather His saints will be AFTER... the tribulation (per Matthew 24:29-31 and Mark 13:24-27).

Even at the end of Luke 17 about the first ones 'taken', Jesus' disciples asked Him "Where, Lord?" about where those 'taken' would be taken to, and Jesus showed those are taken to where the fowls eat on a dead carcase. That's not those who remain faithful waiting on Jesus to come that are actually left-behind. The first ones 'taken' per Jesus are those who will be deceived, taken in deception to wheresoever the fowls are. (see Luke 17:37 and compare with what Jesus said in Matthew 24:28). Authors like Tim LaHaye and Hal LIndsay simply failed to read that Luke 17 Scripture closely. They instead just followed a group of religious men who represent a false interpretation of the event of Jesus' future coming and gathering of His Church.

Yet the whole Tim LaHaye series of 13 books is based on the false idea that Christ's servants will be 'taken', and not left-behind.

It's great sensationalism, and sells good, but it is based on a fictional account of Christ's future coming. Just as with Jesus' Messages in the Book of Revelation to the seven Churches in Asia, only two of those seven Churches actually kept Jesus' Word, and He thus had no rebuke for those two Churches of Smyrna and Philadelphia. But five out of the seven Churches Jesus rebuked because of what was going on within them (see Revelation 2 & 3).
Why is Satan (aka abomination of desolation) setting up shop in antichrist land? Satan has come to deceive. Those people over there in Jerusalem land are already deceived.

My attitude is not the matter here, what God's Word actually teaches vs. what man teaches IS... the matter, and whether or not fellow-brethren are going to heed His Word.

So any attempt to claim I am teaching my own word when I quote easy to understand Bible Scripture, is simply the actual bad attitude, and it often comes from those who have NOT been listening to God in His written Word.

I understand, but what is better, to be shown, or not to be shown? I can about guarantee that most here have never even been taught by their Church about the coming pseudo-Christ for the end of this world. But at least from one like me, because I read and study God's Word myself, and rely on no man (as I have done in the past), they will at least hear about it, whether they believe it or not. Likewise with what Jesus showed for the time of His coming to gather His faithful.

Why is Satan (aka abomination of desolation) setting up shop in antichrist land? Satan has come to deceive. Those people over there in Jerusalem land are already deceived.
Firstly, the "abomination of desolation" to be setup in Jerusalem, that Jesus quoted as a sign for the end from the Book of Daniel, is about an IDOL abomination setup at the future 3rd temple which today's orthodox Jews in Jerusalem plan to build. It will be that "image of the beast" mentioned at the end of Revelation 13.

Some Christian Churches support the Orthodox Jews in Jerusalem with their plans to build their 3rd temple in Jerusalem. Some Christians in America, like in Texas, have even sent red heifers for sacrifice to those Jews in the nation of Israel. That is essentially a supporting of the religion of Judaism which still rejects Lord Jesus Christ as Messiah.

https://worshipleader.com/podcasts/red-heifers-israel-byron-stinson/

Some of them claim by helping the Jews in Jerusalem with their future temple, that it will usher in Christ's coming that much sooner. But that is a falsehood, and a vain excuse, because what God has said will come to pass per His written Word is how things will happen. Man cannot speed God up by what man does.

Should we as Christians support the religion of Judaism, specifically with the Jew's prep for building their 3rd temple and re-establishing old covenant worship with sacrifices again? NO! No Christian should ever support that, not even sends funds in support of that. A Christian supporting the Jew's doing animal sacrifices again per Judaism is close to committing blasphemy against Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit.

But we in the Christian West should... always support the nation of Israel with their ability to protect theirselves from their enemies that want to destroy Israel. And if their enemies become too much for them to handle by themselves, then the Christian West also should send aid to them, as the U.S. was prepared to do during the 1973 war when Israel was almost overrun by its enemies. Helping to protect Israel militarily is necessary, and an act that pleases God, but supporting and aiding their religion of Judaism with building a new temple and doing old covenant worship again should not... be something the Christian West should support.

Per Romans 11 by Apostle Paul, those Christians of us that are descended from the migrations to the West of the ten tribe "house of Israel", are not to be conceited about the fact that God had spiritually blinded the majority of the "house of Judah" (Jews) so The Gospel would go to the Gentiles. When Lord Jesus returns, that 'blindness' will be removed from the unbelieving Jews, and many of them will then believe on Jesus Christ as Messiah.

But until then, the scattered ten tribe "house of Israel" to the West under Ephraim have the duty to help protect the Jews of the "house of Judah" in today's nation of Israel.

Deut 33:16-17
16 And for the precious things of the earth and fulness thereof, and for the good will of Him That dwelt in the bush: let the blessing come upon the head of Joseph, and upon the top of the head of him that was separated from his brethren.
17 His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of unicorns:
with them He shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.
KJV

Ps 60:7
7 Gilead is Mine, and Manasseh is Mine;
Ephraim also is the strength of Mine head; Judah is My lawgiver;
KJV

What this duty has to do with, is Christ's future joining back of the two symbolic sticks of those two 'houses' at His coming, per the Ezekiel 37 prophecy. Per 1 Kings 11 thru 2 Kings 17, God scattered the northern ten tribe kingdom "house of Israel" first, and they migrated mainly westward to Asia Minor and Europe and the Isles. But God kept a small remnant of them and of the three tribe "house of Judah" (Jews) at Jerusalem-Judea, and that "house of Judah" is actually who the unbelieving Jews represent today, both in the nation of Israel, and while scattered in the countries.

^ @DavyP (in view of your Post #57 ^ ), I have a few questions:

--Do you believe Zechariah 14 (quoted below) refers to what will take place yet *future* to us (i.e. in the MK age)?;

--Who do you believe it pertains to (where it says of them that they are "TO KEEP THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES"... and "from year to year"); and

--What do you think that will look like? IOW, what will that entail? What does it mean for them "TO KEEP THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES" ?

Zechariah 14 -
Zec 14:8
And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.

God Will Be King over All

Zec 14:9
And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.
Zec 14:10
All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses.
Zec 14:11
And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.

[...]
Zec 14:16
And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
Zec 14:17
And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
Zec 14:18
And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
Zec 14:19
This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

[Feast of Tabernacles... referred to in the following passages]

(Num 29:12–40; Deu 16:13–17 [ <--SEE THESE passages also] )

Lev 23:33
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Lev 23:34
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD.
Lev 23:35
On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.
Lev 23:36
Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein.

Ezr 3:4
They kept also the feast of tabernacles [7 days], as it is written, and offered the daily burnt offerings by number, according to the custom, as the duty of every day required;

[/QUOTE]
You are not correct about Matthew chapter 24. There is a threefold message: Christ is answering the questions asked of Him.
The context is not one but three subjects. The lord is providing.
Matt 24:3 “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?"

1. “Tell us, when will these things be? the destruction of the temple
2. what will be the sign of Your coming,
3. and of the end of the age?

Jesus is speaking of what is to come soon here after his resurrection and ascension and what is to come in the last days.
Remember, Jesus had not yet suffered the cross. The context is not fully understood until Jesus opens up the understanding of the Disciples, and then they remember. After he rose again.
For those who mock the pretrib rapture:
Did God take Enoch ?
Did God take Elijah?
This understanding of what God can do has been done already and seen in scripture.
Now, Matthew 24 has a parallel scriptures. Found in the Gospel of Luke chapter 21:7-

7 So they asked Him, saying, “Teacher, but when will these things be? And what sign will there be when these things are about to take place?”
The Coming of the Son of Man
25 “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26 men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
The Parable of the Fig Tree
29 Then He spoke to them a parable: “Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. 30 When they are already budding, you see and know for yourselves that summer is now near. 31 So you also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near. 32 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all things take place. 33 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
The Importance of Watching
34 “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with [h]carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
Pray that YOU MAYBE able to ESCAPE ALL THESE THINGS THAT WILL COME TO PASS!
What things ? Those things he spoke about in context to the temple destruction, the end of the age, and the coming of the Lord.
Matthew 24 is saying the same thing.

The Parable of the Fig Tree
32 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors! 34 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
No One Knows the Day or Hour
36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.
37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,
39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away,
so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
40 Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left.
41 Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left.
42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.
43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

Listen, what does one have to make themselves ready for if you are going to be killed and suffer the judgment of GOD.

Noah was protected from God's judgment, and Moses, with the blood on the doorpost, was protected from death.

The Church of the living God is not subject to the wrath of God as God PUT Noah inside the Ark and Closed the DOOR of the Ark
Genesis 7:17
16 So those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded him; and the Lord shut him in.

This is what Paul was talking about in 1Thessalonians

13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.

15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.
And thus, we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.
1cor chapter 15

51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”

55 “O Death, where is your sting?
O Hades, where is your victory?”
56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

4 After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.”

2 Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. 3 And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald. 4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had crowns of gold on their heads. 5 And from the throne proceeded lightnings, thunderings, and voices. Seven lamps of fire were burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.

6 Before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back. 7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature like a calf, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle. 8 The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying:

“Holy, holy, holy,
Lord God Almighty,
Who was and is and is to come!”
9 Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying:

11 “You are worthy, O Lord,
To receive glory and honor and power;
For You created all things,
And by Your will they exist and were created.”

The resurrected King will call forth HIS Bride when the Father says Go and get your Bride. We are to be ready and be not as the foolish virgins but the wise ones. The wise virgin kept watch and listened to the trumpet and the sound of HIS Coming. She has full HER Lamp with oil and is going to be carried out to Meet HIm in the air .

The church, the Body of Christ is currently in Great Tribulation Acts 14 22

Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much/great tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

The word much here is the greek word polys and it translated geat 59 x
God is never going to be able to use you as greatly as he would like with that kind of doctrine.

And you'll never be going to be able to feed the sheep with anything but milk with that kind of doctrine.

And you added the word great to your sentence the Great Tribulation. please be careful. by adding words to the book God may add the plagues that are in in the book to you

15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
