Agreed and the New Testament companion verses after fulfillment

“For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2:21-25‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Dear Pilgrimshope, thank you for your powerful scripture. Upon reading it, I became transfixed by a sense of pity for Jesus Christ's sufferings on the cross. God bless you, brother.

Jesus said on the Cross, "IT IS FINISHED." John 19:228-30

This term in Greek signifies that a Debt has been paid. All Past, Present, and Future debt has been paid. Jesus paid the debt so that we can believe in Him and receive salvation, as Jesus said in John 3:16.

Firstly, you can't say that a person can't be saved on their deathbed. The devil is a liar.

You tell people they are going to hell if they have not been baptized in Jesus' name; now you say those who called out to Jesus in forgiveness will not be forgiven if they repent for a life of sin before they die.

What a lying, foolish, imbecilic thing to say and unbiblical. Do you think you are God now?

Thank God for Obedient, Real Christians who go to Hospitals and minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who may have never heard of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I will provide you with one great example of a Deathbed conversation that God had with a man on his dying bed.

Charlie McCoy, 78 years old, living in Shenandoah, Iowa. I live in California. My old navy Buddy Tom Duab, who will gladly testify to this testimony, who I led to the lord.
He called me at 8 am his time, which was 6 am my time. He asked me to pray for his friend Charlie, who had pneumonia and was in the hospital. I asked two questions. I asked Charlie, "Has anyone ever told you that Jesus loves you." He said to me, "I don't believe anyone has ever told me that ever. " Imedieley, I said to Charlie, Let me be the first to do so and tell that Jesus Loves you. The second question is: Has anyone ever told you that Jesus has a plan for your life? He said, "No."

I have begun to tell him about Jesus, how He saved me and forgave my sins, and how no day is promised to us. I read to him Romans chapter 10, verses 8-11, and John 3:16-19, which explain how all have sinned and fallen short of God's holy standard of righteousness.

I asked Charles, 'Do you have any regrets and things you are sorry for?' He said to many. I explained what Jesus did for us on the cross and how he took the sins of the world onto Himself.

I told Charlie his sins, too. Charlie repented of his sins and asked Jesus to come into his life and wept greatly there in that hospital bed as Tom was with him. Charlie received Jesus as his Lord and Savior. I asked Charlie to raise his hands to the Lord and thank God for what he had done. Charlie did something he had never done before that day: he prayed, thanked God, and worshiped Him.

I hung up the phone a little after 7am. 5:30 PM Iowa time Charlie did not leave the hospital. His heart gave, and he died just about 8 1/2 hours later from my phone call.

Are you saying Charlie is in hell because he was not baptized in Jesus' name, and there is no bedside conversion?
No one knows the fate of anyone and that includes ourselves.

Regardless of how sincere, personal testimonies or claims of salvation are not proof-texts.

As a person who claims to be a pastor you should know this.

OK, here we go.

1. Show me where ANYONE told someone to get baptized in the name of the father, the son and the Holy Ghost.

2. Have you received the Holy Ghost like JESUS gave HIS DISCIPLES in Acts 2:3-4?

Thank you.

1. OK, Jesus said in MATTHEW 28:19

19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

2. No, I did not see any cloven tongues of fire, nor did I hear a rushing mighty wind. Did you?

FYI, NObody can no the heart of man, but GOD, your point is mute. The word of God says In Roan chapter 10:9-10

9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Do you think you can tell a person they're not saved when the word of God tells us we have overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and The Word of our Testimony? What a buffoon.

Water baptism signifies being buried with Christ in death and raised to walk in newness of life. Baptism is a symbol of salvation
in that it pictures Christ's death, burial and resurrection and our identification with Him as our Savior. In reality, believers are
literally saved by what baptism symbolizes, the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. (Romans 1:16; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4)

“Water baptism signifies being buried with Christ in death and raised to walk in newness of life. Baptism is a symbol of salvation in that it pictures Christ's death, burial and resurrection and our identification with Him as our Savior”

First How many baptisms are there ?

“There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:4-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

cant we just call baptism baptism and acknowledge it’s something they did in water when someone believed ?

“And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭8:36-38‬ ‭KJV‬‬

thats baptism it’s done in water there’s no reason for us to say “ water “ baptism. There’s just one, it’s something they did in water.

The Bible never says “ water baptism “ but it tells us clearly baptism was done in water

just like it tells us it’s done in the name of the one who died for our sins and rose up again.

Just as it tells us why it’s done for remission of sins.

My one question is why do you consider something we’re taught so much about what it means , symbolism ?

“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, ( is this the right reason for baptism in Jesus name ?)

and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:38-40‬ ‭KJV‬‬

why do you consider this Jesus commanding his disciples to carry out symbolism ?

“And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: in whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2:10-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

don’t you believe what Paul’s teaching here and how baptism fits into it ?

“putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.”

people here talk about how Gods gonna circumcise thoer flesh for them and his word tells them he’s already provided the way to circumcise the flesh

people here talk about dying to the old sinful nature how gods gonna do that for us and how he’s gonna make us new …..his word tells us he’s already provided a way to accomplish this

“Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:3-7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

people here say “ we’re dead to the law “ gods word continues on with Paul’s teaching there about dying with Jesus in baptism and tells us

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death……

Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. ( before the corcumcision of Christ taught m Colossians 2 concerning baptism )

But now we are delivered from the law, ( we died with Jesus to the law when baptized o to his death for our sins ) that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭7:4-6‬ ‭

If it’s just symbolic to get baptized into Christ Jesus ….why is there so much doctrine taught about how important it is and what it means ?

I believe it’s an act of faith that we do because we believe what they preached and has immense meaning

people talk about being clothed with Christ , being children of God and his hiers the hiers together with Christ

“For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:26-29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

But we never seem to tie the doctrine they are teaching to anything we want to sort of teach our own thing .

Jesus didn’t command symbolism he and his apostles taught doctrine , soul saving doctrine

People don’t act right because they don’t believe right if we believed the things the Bible teaches about baptism every believer would want to joyfully get baptized understanding why they are doing it

symbolism isn’t why brother study the doctrine about baptism in the scriptures just listening to what they are teaching about it

and I bet your thought about it may change a little bit

Yes, Jesus said people will be judged for rejecting Him as well as rejecting His words. And He said those who believe and are baptised shall be saved. (Mark 16:15-16)

John 12:48
He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
When Jesus tells Nicodemus, "Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God," he is describing the spiritual transformation necessary for salvation. The phrase does not simply mean "born of the Holy Spirit," but combines two images—water and Spirit—that together point to the need for both spiritual cleansing and renewal.
Dear Wansvic, I hope this message helps you understand that Jesus is everything and all that we need to be saved and enter into heaven.
Interpretations of "Water and the Spirit":

  • Spiritual Cleansing and Renewal:
  • The most widely supported interpretation among biblical scholars is that "water and the Spirit" refers to the spiritual cleansing from sin and the inward renewal brought by the Holy Spirit. This is rooted in Old Testament imagery, especially Ezekiel 36:25-27, where God promises to "sprinkle clean water" (symbolising purification) and "put a new spirit" within his people (symbolising transformation). Jesus' words would have reminded Nicodemus, a teacher of the law, of this prophetic promise of a new birth involving both cleansing (water) and the Spirit's renewing power.

  • Not a Reference to Baptism:
  • While some traditions link "water" to Christian baptism, the immediate context does not mention baptism, and Jesus' emphasis is on internal transformation rather than ritual action. Baptism is viewed elsewhere as an outward sign of inward faith, rather than a requirement for salvation itself.
God bless you, brother.

Dear Pilgrimshope, thank you for your powerful scripture. Upon reading it, I became transfixed by a sense of pity for Jesus Christ's sufferings on the cross. God bless you, brother.
Yes Peter was really great at expressing the gospel as we’re the other apostles .

It works well and has more sense of power when we have the witness you provided ( which the Ethiopian in acts chapter 8 was reading ) in the prophets

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53:5-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

and then we listen to the witness Jesus sent forth with his chosen and annointed apostles , after he had fulfilled the prophets and law

For ye were as ( now it’s past tense ) sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.” ( reconciled)
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2:21-25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

One of most important points the lord has ever shown me in his word is the correlation between the prophets witness of Christ and the gospel and the apostles witness of Christ and the gospel it’s really powerful realizing they were all preaching Christ just from different perspectives in time as Gods plan was unfolding

Verses like this changed how I study the Bible

“But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; and he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

….Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭3:18-21, 24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

that gave the Old Testament life in my view and the correlation began to be so apparent and powerful whenever the ot and new witness together it’s really wonderful and strong doctrine

“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
‭‭John‬ ‭3:5KJV‬‬

a son is born of water and spirit

“And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:

and there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:9-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Water and spirit

“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, ( water )

and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. ( spirit )

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:38-39‬ ‭KJV‬‬

spirit and water

“And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. ( spirit )

For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. ( water in his name for remission of sins ) Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:42-44, 46-48‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Gods children are Born of water and spirit because they believe the gospel of Jesus Christ and act upon his word of faith

This is my thread, and I want everyone to know those who said there is no bedside conversion and those of you who have been to hospitals to pray for lost loved ones. Some here would leave you with no Hope because of not having been water-baptized before they died. I want you to know that water baptism in Jesus named or in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are both valid. Yet

They would also tell you it is useless to provide hope in Christ before you die or be given a death sentence by a doctor or maybe a Court system death penalty. There is no hope for your family. Some would tell you here if they have not been water-baptized before they die.
They would have you believe the Power of God through the Gospel of Jesus Christ is ill-effect without water baptism.

Those who defy the power of GOD, which Paul said he was not ashamed of, is the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord. Roman chapter 10:9-11.

These modern-day Phrieeses and false teachers would have you tell your loved ones contrary to the word of GOD, there is no hope for them. This is a demonic and false teaching that the Living God would not accept repentance even if it was before death.
