2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 KJV - King James Version

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, ...

Privately, I believe we are experiencing "great falling away", and are are approaching the end. Part of my thinking comes from what I have seen with my own eyes in American culture. When I was very young, females could not leave the farm in pants. I was so young that it did not matter. These days, we wear anything we want. Women can own property and have our own Bank accounts. I believe that this has gone too far. We should be modest, reverent to God and winsome and supportive of the men in our lives.

I'm not extremely intelligent but am very curious, and love the study of Biblical Archeology. It seems that it all started around Southern Iraq, Persia and the Levant and there is still lots to learn about God by the study of what those people left behind. We talk about the return of Jesus the Christ, and I think that includes a 'Heavenly Host".

The Day spoken of here is the Day of the Lord. Literally and clearly what is spoken of cannot happen till after mid-way thru the tribulation. Dan 9:27. This one who we call the beast or antichrist will deceive Israel, but he will also be diplomatic and military man blessed by Satan himself. He will allow Israel to build the temple, bring the jews home to Israel, they will be prosperous for 3 1/2 years like in the days of Noah and Lot without fear of what is happening in the other nations.

The falling away happens by deceiving the leaders and people of Israel, he will be looked upon as a hero, keeping them safe from the troubles in the outside world.

The word, Armageddon, is taken from the Plain of Megiddo. On the plain of Megiddo there was a tel or mound wich was the remnant of what was the city of Megiddow.
When excavated by archeologists it was discovered there ewere many foundations of many rebuilt cities, twenty-four to be exact.
No this does not say much to me, but it sure is facinating.

I was in a Tribulationist church for many years. Seeing their reaction to the fallen and those in need of help and compassion turned me off to it.

Yes indeed, there's a great falling away. Those caught up in it don't see it, but those looking to God's word can see it plainly.

I'm a big Biblical archeology fan myself. So many amazing discoveries being made!

In 2001 I was in Israel for almost a week after spending time in Kenya as a missionary in training. We climbed that tel. The whole thing was inspiring and fascinating. We toured as much of Israel as we could in that time. I hoped to come home and work at going to Bible College, but then the attack happened and I was so disappointed in the Christian response to it that by 2003 I was no longer Christian. In 2005 I had read much of the Qur'an in an effort to understand why they would attack us. Many years later, I understand that it was not Muslims in general but a small radical group that did it. Their funds came from radical Wahabbis. In my depth of lack of understanding, I became Muslim and to this day still study it. In this difficult position, I believe that Jesus the Christ is the Son of God, and wonder why Muslims see him simply as the best Prophet. It is confusing. Please do not try to straighten me out.

Privately, I am sort of expecting the visitors of the OT to return with Jesus the Christ. The ruins of the Samarians in Southern Iraq, and those in modern day Iran predate Judaism. I don't make any assumptions about them being the fallen Angels. Biblically we know of around 6,000 years of history but Archeologically we think that man has been around for about 200,000 years plus or minus. We actually know so little.

I am studying the writings of the first men of the church like ignatius, Polycarp, Clement, and Origen tell of what the people of the first churches after Christ believed and lived. It was a very different church, then. People looked down on them because they lived differently than people of the world lived but it was often commented "look how they love each other". They united in their core beliefs but accepted many differences in doctrine among them like what day the Sabbath was.

I am finding that they were truer to scripture than we are, and it is always something man has added to scripture that makes the difference. Man added fighting over doctrine that is not core doctrine like salvation.. Man added that it is church councils that determine questions and not the apostles. Man often looks to culture and the world for answers rather than to the Lord.

You can take that literally. It is confusing to me that Muhammad PBUH could have been around early Christians and Jews and still have a radically different view about Isa PBUH (Jesus) from them. I was deeply immersed in Arab/Muslim culture for years and can see that they think differently due to their culture.

Sadly, those who claim to have the answers don't seem to agree on much. So, I wait and worship, praying for answers.

Amen, and amen. I try to find the ideas of that early church, and to not dwell on false doctrine. I'm not sure at all about the "kill and eat" passage in Acts. Eating Pork makes me really uneasy, so I eschew it as much as possible. I observe the Sabbath on Sunday but don't actually feel like that matters much as long as we choose the day we want. For many years I worked both Saturday and Sunday. Lately it seems right to act like every day is Sabbath. My circumstances make that possible. One can come to accept being completely alone, choosing to use that time in pleasing God. With Covid still killing people, it will remain that way.

Islam is clear: God has no sons.

The Living God is clear: Jesus is the son of God. We can only accept the Father is we accept the Son.

Today, the natural sons of Ishmael (the Arabs) are being called into the kingdom of God before the Jews. I believe this will be the catalyst that makes the Jews jealous: their wild half-brother receives the promises of the kingdom. Christians like to pray for the Jews but they should also pray for the Arabs.

P.S. For clarity: "Arabs" is not synonymous with "Muslims". A Muslim is one who follows the tenants of Islam. Muslims worship a different god who has no sons.

I politely disagree with what you say about Muslims. They worship the same God as us but their culture has prevented the proper education. I was deeply immersed in it for several years and could see it.

Islam created their culture.

I've studied the Haddith and Koran. Their god is not the Living God of the Bible. In the areas they are similar, Muhammad acquiesced to appease the multi-faith population. As Islam grew in influence and numbers, the writings of the Haddith and practices of Muslims became less accepting of others outside the religion. Historically there is no room for debate.

I would to talk with you more about this if you wish.

Wa Alaikum Salaam.

Practically speaking, I study three religions, Judaism, Christianity, and Sunni Islam. I don't condemn Shia Muslims.

From my apartment in Covid isolation, I have lots of time to study and meditate. Denominationalists discourage me. You can be assured that my differences would put you off. I have repented as much as possible of that which did not please God. Reading in the OT, just lots of things were prohibited by God, but somehow since the book of Acts, many think there are no rules, and I can not accept that.

Hoping to go ride my bike to ward off the blood clots soon.

This post is a clear example of the falling away. Nothing stated here is according to Scripture.
This post rejects the truth clearly taught in Scripture for the teaching of men.
