I feel we react differently when we are hurt though. I feel we pull back and withdraw from a situation - as opposed perhaps to a Woman's general reaction, which I am not sure what is.

Thoughts?

That is my observation. I will burn inside, before making mention of it. Then again, I think it is probably a sin to take offense. I should not have feelings of being hurt "oh, poor little me."

My Heart leaps into action when there is a woman in distress, I have never been stronger than when I am helping a Lady who needs my help. But thats me, Men are different.

I think I would agree with two things above - Men's natural instinct is to protect a woman. (I think that he knows)

In addition to this, men are problem solvers, we like solving problems and it frustrates us if we can't.

Other than that hmmm, men are different, I think I am quite sensitive compared to most guys. My heart is fragile... I feel we react differently when we are hurt though. I feel we pull back and withdraw from a situation - as opposed perhaps to a Woman's general reaction, which I am not sure what is.

just a thank you to the two of you, and to gentlemen everywhere, for this lovely sentiment (and reality) of being our protectors and defenders. ♥

à propos de problem solving...sometimes a woman will pour her heart out to you, and you will want to 'fix' the problem.
i know it's natural for you to do so (and again, thank you!), but often the lady in question just needs to have a sounding board, and perhaps hear, 'you poor thing!
', or something similar indicating understanding.

we do mostly realize not all things are immediately fixable, and Christian ladies also place their trust in the Lord, Who sometimes brings problems our way so we will grow.

but men...you all are just wonderful. :)

So a while ago I asked if there was a mens forum and why not. That has now been clarified. Thank you.

There probably isn't a men's forum because we probably wouldn't have a clue what to do with it. :p

As exemplified by the number of women that have already responded to this thread and the limited number of men who have faced up to the question so far? (to be the pot, calling the kettle... I'm waiting to answer till later, myself)

Hmm...I DID learn something!! I always thought the way to a man's heart was straight through the sternum with something very sharp or high velocity. :D

As I posted on another thread, I used to date a girl that would always say that the way to a man's heart is not through his stomach, unless you have the right knife.

break time is over for me... back to work.

Exactly my point.

I seem to just be posting nonsense in this thread, sorry about that Jullianna. Let me think...

What I once told a female friend, was that men are like half of an arch. Lean against it, and it will hold you up. But if you pull away, it'll crumble. (maybe not the best simile, but I'm an architecture nerd. She should be glad I didn't go all flying buttresses on her.)

This might be a little off topic but this reminded me of something I thought of last night. I realized that when it comes to personalities women are sort of like cats and men are kind of like dogs. I mean women are sort of mysterious and independent, and men usually can't hide their feelings very well and sort of live moment-to-moment.

I think women on average are more social than cats and men are less social than dogs. On average though...because I'm not that social, haha. :)

I have NEVER seen two cats that haven't seen each other in years do the cat equivalent of "Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeey, how are yoooooooooou? *cheery tone and hug*"

;)

If this were accurate... than the flying buttress could only be stable with God as the engineer... pretty good analogy.

Your turn, gentlemen. Tell us what we don't know about the heart of a man.

Hi Jullianna,
An interesting question indeed. Well, people come from different walks of life. What we need to know is does a man know Jesus? If not, you know what capabilities a raw human's heart can do. When a person ,confesses, repents, believes, and then turns away from his sinful habits, he is gifted with God's spirit. As he continues to obey the Word of God in his actions, he develops more into being mature in the steps God originally designed for a human. A real man is a fool in man's sight, but wise in the eyes of God. What we do not know in a man is even though he performs Godly actions, is he doing it with unconditional ( agape) love and the right intentions? It takes more time to know for sure what is in a man's heart, than a woman, at least as per personal experience.
What a woman needs to understand is that she needs to be confident to trust her husband. A man expects that too. Trust from his mate and that she trusts him! A woman can best follow the example of an eagle who would not allow herself to mate with him until he catches a twig which she throws from the highest point of a cliff. This is done since eaglets are kicked out of their nest during their flying training session and that daddy eagle can swoop down quickly and grab the eaglet before it reaches the ground. It shows a man's commitment and dedication. There are other factors also where female eagles test their potential mate.
Men occassionaly need a spank from loved ones ( some feel good about it, wonder why) as to which they develop more maturely. What women do not know many times is that she expected a guy like an eagle only to end up with a vulture, much worse a vampire bat. So, bottomline is, careful women... And hey, don't expect a man to catch a twig in case you decide to throw it from a cliff ( unless he has angelic wings) !
