Through the revealed written Word of God (the Bible), He graciously allows us to know some of what He has done for us, that we might have not just life, but life more abundantly. Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.

When I read it, he heals my heart.

I found out why 99% of christians dont know how the bible was put together. When I say put together, I mean how the 66 books were chosen out of 180+ books, letters,etc., and how they were orderred from Genisis to Revelations as well. The answer is so demoralizing. Why would God choose the Pope to be in charge of this project, and why didnt they show their work on why they felt God told them to pic this book and put it here? Can anyone help?
Well, back in 325AD there was a "Council of Nicaea" made up of bishops who put together the first canon of the Bible. There's been many changes since then. Anyways, here's a chart showing the changes in the Bible over time. I've researched this and found it to be very interesting. I don't know if it'll help you, or answer some of your questions, but maybe you'll find it interesting too.

Its one of those topics for some reason we dont talk about on Sundays or Wed nights. Old testament says dont set up for yourselves a king cuz kingdoms divide creation, and it says that all of Israel is Gods firstborn son, and then after Athanasius gets a hold of all the books, scrolls, letters, etc. from all the other religions from all over the world, we get a New Testament where there's a king of kings and Lord of lords and every knee will bow and every tongue will confess, which sounds demanding and not loving. If love does not demand its own way and in the beginning the Word was God and God is love which means the word is the spirit of love then how can the beginning of wisdom the fear of itself? Syncretism was widely used by the world's leading Empire. In order for a new Empire to take place the leader must think the people together. And how he would do that was to sync the religions together so that the people's minds would be submissive to the new ruling Empire. Like slaves obey your masters, and obey the government because God put them in their place. Its not very loving. A father who would knowingly sacrifice his own son sounds like a pagan worship of the god Marduk. Because in Hosea 8 it says that love is greater than sacrifice. In Revelations it says the stories of Jesus are from the spirit of prophecy and how do we know that revelations is at the very end and that Genesis is at the beginning? We accept the 66 books as the Word of God because we've been told that our whole lives but when we seek for ourselves we find that it is hard to believe that God would use the Pope of Alexandria and the leader of the whole world to put his words together. And if that was true I'm sure that they would have shown their work on how the spirit told them to pick and choose which book goes here or there, you know what I mean?

Jesus is in all 66 books of the bible. God is love and Jesus is God so we must come to the conclusion that the 66 book library is one long "love letter"
That's what the book says right? Would a loving father knowingly sacrifice his own son? Is the beginning of wisdom really fear of itself? Didn't God say in the Old Testament that all of Israel is his first born son? Would love tell slaves to obey their master? Would love they obey the government because God put the government in control? Syncretism, is needed when a new ruling Empire takes over a group of other people with different religions. Constantine, was a pagan ruler, who ruled the whole world at one point. He decided to make a decree to all of the religions of the world to bring their books and to the Council of Nicea. And after that council we have the 66 books we call today with the New Testament added. The old religions of the world also had several stories of a savior being born of a virgin and dying and being resurrected on the third day and thus becoming God. Remember love does not demand its own way. And love would never set itself up as a king. And nothing in all creation will ever be separated from love forever.
That whoever believes in Him will never die, but have eternal life? Yes. Our loving Father did. Would your father, the devil, do that? No. And he didn't.

Wow, sorry for asking those?'s. I would hope if someoe else ever has ?'s about these things, that you might be a little less harsh and more loving to them. If it was you and you were me, would I say the same things to you? I hope i would encourage you, and back up the evidence with loving words to you. I can discern that your questions did not come from a spirit of openness and genuine, innocent curiosity. You've shown that all over this site. You simply failed to pull one over on me, and now you're sour grapes and want to call it quits. I've have seen many a you around here. You don't know what love is, yet you have the arrogance to claim to know anything about the love in my thoughts. Hint: Love does not rejoice in iniquity. You purport yourself to know the Bible. All that I've said is Biblical. There's the evidence right there. Read my answer again and seek Jesus, who is Truth.
You have several obvious misconceptions about God.
Jesus did not become God as a result of being born a man, dying on the cross, and being resurrected. Jesus was, is and always will be God.
Sin separates Gods creation from Him the creator. To be reconciled back to God one must have an atonement made for one's sin. Jesus Christ is that atonement. His blood satisfies Gods demand for justice.
All of creation is placed under subjection to God the Creator.
Love for the creation, man, is what drove Jesus Christ to the cross of Calvary. Jesus saw the eternal condemnation that awaited man and intervened to rescue man from eternal destruction.

The Holy Bible is divided into OLD TESTAMENT books, written by the prophets; and the NEW TESTAMENT books were written by Christ's Apostles/Disciples. I am using the King James or Authorized Version of 1611. Again, thank you LOLOkGal,

To understand this better, you'd have to understand that Jesus and God are one. Jesus said, I and my Father are one. Also, scripture tells us that Jesus was the Word. The plan of salvation happened at the very fall of man. So, being that Jesus was the Word and He and the Father are one, Jesus was in on this plan from the very beginning. We see Him in human form throughout the gospels with human needs, human desires, and human feelings. After experiencing what it is like to be human, He knew the pain that He was getting ready to endure when He was ready to give Himself to us. Even though He had a moment of asking God the Father to take this cup (task) away from Him, He was still willing to go through it. Jesus said that no greater love has no man than this that he lay down his life for another. It is because of God's love for us, both the Father and the Son was willing to go through this sacrifice so that we (God's creation) can, someday, return to what we were in the Garden of Eden and be with Him for all eternity.
You've got that backwards. "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding." Prov 9:10
This kind of fear is a reverence fear. Like a child would have with their parents. Not the kind of fear that brings terror.
Yes, God said in Exodus 4:22 says, "Israel is my son, even my firstborn" However, God declared Jesus His only begotten son in John 1:18, "No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him." Out of Israel, Jesus was born. The genealogy of Jesus starts out as; Abraham, Israel (aka Isaac), Jacob, & Judah... (Jesus is refereed to as the "Lion of Judah") You see, the Bible explains to us, that when we are saved, we are adopted into God's family. We become a descendant of Abraham. We become a child of God - one of His "firstborn". We are God's firstborn, because we were created. Jesus was God's first begotten, because He was born from God and human. Now, because of God's begotten Son, we also become Join-heirs with Christ when we are saved.
Eph 6:5 & Col 3:22 states this. If you were a slave, it was said to do this so that your master can see Jesus in you. In both verses it goes on to say that you will be rewarded for doing this.
Yes, Romans 13 talks about submission to governing authorities. In Acts 5 though, we see where Peter and the other apostles disobeyed because they were told to go against God. Peter's response in verse 29 is, "“We must obey God rather than human beings!" So, as long as it doesn't go against God, then obey.
