No, thats false, in fact Jesus kept all requirements for them.
This is false ?
“If ye love me,
keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but
ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and
we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and
the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.”
John 14:15-21, 23-24 KJV
Your saying Jesus taught them falsely that if they kept his commandments they would receive the holy spirit ?
They coupd have responded to Jesus “ no lord you’ve already done all that for us but it wouldn’t have been faith but simply rejecting what he said to them but instead they followed his word and were baptized with the Holy Spirit at pentocost as he told them they would be
If say Jesus was sent to the world to teach the truth not fallacy
““You are a king, then!” said Pilate. Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.””
John 18:37 NIV
So for instance if Jesus taught this
“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
Matthew 6:14-15 KJV
“And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.”
Mark 11:25-26
It’s not the right response to call it false and reject it and then insist on other things . The right response is to hear it and believe and th en of course when you do you would begin practicing it because you believe it’s true
but to be frank some beer Jesus word about things and reject it and then insist upon other truths and means of salvation but look what they are rejecting when they do that
“Verily, verily, I say unto you,
He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
John 5:24 KJV
and look at the result of rejecting Jesus and his words
“
He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that
his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.”
John 12:48-50 KJV
the only thing that can condemn us is rejecting the judges words and judgements but saying it’s false and doesn’t apply is a form of rejecting it subtly of course but either way it’s still rejected , only with an excuse and explaination.
““
Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?
As for
everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck
that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.
But the one who
hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck
that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.””
Luke 6:46-49 NIV
ultimately we all have to do this it should change our course but often we simply refuse to hear it in wich case we walk on in bliss but we’re walking towards a cliff refusing all the warning signs about repentance and obeying the things Jesus taught us
“For we must all appear before the
judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.”
2 Corinthians 5:10-11 KJV
If we can’t acknowledge and agree with Jesus teachings we’re really off track
