Always, always I think of big romantic things to do
Guys I will give a idea. Women of it happens to you ,you know were your guy got the idea. So in invite your woman over. Put on some casual jeans and a button up that's nice. Cologne. Light some candles and spread rose pedals all over the floor every room. When she arrives greet her with a smile and a sit her pull the chair out for her. Cook a meal and talk to her. Bring a pleasant conversation and make sure you show high interest but in letting her lead the discussion. Serve her food and enjoy. Don't talk with a mouth full. Ask politely if a massage is appropriate? If so don't be grabbing in places uncomfortable. Draw a bubble bath and leave her privacy till she is in. Candles in the bathroom too. Read song of songs as she sits and listens to your voice of love poems. Give her strawberies and sugar to eat as you do this to keep her busy. When she is ready leave the room and let her dress. Turn on the sound bar and dance a slow waltz with her. Don't get all touchy feely. Respect her. Smile and gaze in her eyes as you dance. Give a kind gift as a surprise. Don't do this to seduce. Let her know by actions that's not the case by offering a soft short kiss goodnight. Let her go home in awe. I have other ideas to but I'm not saying. Been called a hopeless romantic many times and I sure am.

Lol!.I shocked too!!
No dude, seriously, I'm married and turning different shades reading that.

If my daughter were of age, and came home talking bout a date like that, well let's just say Daddy would be unlocking that gun case and mommy wouldn't be ohing and awing 'tell me more!' Mama bear would be telling her RUN! Don't get involved with that guy!

Romantic? Sure.
But for 2 singles alone at his place?
Recipe for trouble.

It's not a immediately thing..later when ya know each other. Knock me if ya wanr. Run no one's chasing

Hi @Mwestton,

Welcome to CC! I think I've read that you're a newer member and also new to Christianity? Welcome to the fold!

I'm not sure what kind of church background you have or what kind of church you're attending now?

It might be helpful to know that on this particular site, the majority here are from conservative Christian backgrounds, meaning, no sexual or intimate contact before marriage -- so to most people here, things like drawing a bath for someone would be considered only for those who are married.

Part of becoming a Christian is often having to unlearn a whole bunch of things that are "ok" to the rest of the world -- but not ok to God.

We're all learning, and trying to stay within bounds, together.

I hope you'll keep posting so we can get to know you, and you can keep getting to know us. :)

No worries -- I totally understand.

I had a feeling that maybe you were unfamiliar of some of the beliefs most hold here when you mentioned being a new Christian. I was pretty much born/adopted into Christianity from the start, so for some of us, it's second nature (but we're all still learning, trying, and growing, because NONE of us are perfect, and ALL fall short of the glory of God.)

But for others, it's all something new and to be learned over time. I've made a lot of friends with people who became Christians later in life, and it's an ongoing process for all of us, no matter how seasoned or how new we are. Sometimes those of us who've been in church a long time forget, or have never experienced, what it must be like for someone just starting out with their faith in Christ.

I've had co-workers who became believers and it was quite a shock to them to have to learn and adjust to so many things (drugs, alcohol, living together) that had been "normal" in their life before Jesus.

This is why the Bible says our faith in Him is a lifelong journey.

We're glad to have you here and learning right along with us. :)

No worries @Mwestton!

Many people here have similar stories, believe me, and I've met many in real life as well.

It's always miraculous that God calls people out of their former lives, and into His family. I've also known many seasoned Christians who fell into "straight crazy" or chose to go that way, too, so NO ONE is immune.

I don't want you to feel like you have to apologize for being who you are at this point in your life! I just wanted to explain the general atmosphere here -- very conservative -- and hope you won't be discouraged.

I'm glad you shared with us and this is how we all learn together. :)

This is so sweet and romantic but I have to say cut the whole 'massage' idea and bubble bath scene out lol. Now if you were married to her that would be perfection. Usually the gal would be clean anyway and even me, a recovered party animal,' would be uncomfortable taking a bath on a date😂 I saw your pic, a very handsome dude, and please take all the comments here as just meaningful advise. I'm sure there's a lady God has for you just don't overdo or presume the intimate side....until married, you'll get a lot farther.

Please get the thread off I'm ashamed. Yes I have to apologize. Thanks. I get it.

One other thought here, if you would have said this is what I'd love to do for my 'wife', after a long day's work or just for any occaison, you would have the single gals here swooning over the idea of their husband doing all this for them. My son met his wife online and when they finally met for a date, he said he asked her if he could give her a kiss. I think they agreed a kiss on the cheek, and he asked me, being an impetuous one, if I thought that was too forward, lol. I guess not they are joyfully married now.

Your right it is a wife thing. I just come on to strong I guess. It's a lonely issue that makes me move to fast and get in trouble. I'm sorry. All I do is think of things when the lonely feelings hit. I should not have broadcasted it. So you understand this? Again my bad. I don't want a swarm. Just one.

I only left one thing out. A purposel after the evening. I had this planned for the last one who crushed me. I just did not want to admit my denial of my hurt

@Mwestton

I should really read profiles of people I'm unfamiliar with before commenting.
If I had, I would have seen you stating you're recently saved, and well, that is the greatest decision you can ever make.

My apologies if my initial reply early in this thread came across too rude or harsh

I've been on vacation for a week, so I came late to this party.

Personally the most romantic thing I've ever heard of was when a guy saw something he knew a girl would like, so he bought it, wrapped it and gave it to her like a birthday present.

"Ooh, a present... What's the occasion?"

"Because it's Tuesday. Happy Tuesday. Open it, open it!"

(Caveat: My perspective may be slightly biased because I never have liked holding on to a gift just because I know I will need a gift idea for a certain day on the calendar. I see that thing NOW, I know the person I'm thinking about will like it NOW and I want the person to enjoy it NOW.)

But it seemed rather romantic to me that he would go to the trouble of wrapping it like a present.

The other most romantic thing I ever heard of was one time this lady got in a minor fender-bender in a parking lot. When she opened the glove box to get the car registration she found a note from her husband. "Honey, in case of accident, remember: It's YOU I love, not the car."

He knew she would be worried that he would be mad about the car. He did not want her to worry about his reaction all the way home. So he left a note where she would be sure to find it when she bumped another car. That indicates marvelous foresight but also that he cared a lot about how she felt.
