I am sure the older son could have come, He was just mad because he stayed back and did all these great works, and did not even get offered the fatted calf.

Thats the problem with legalism.

The prodigal did not think he was worthy, The son thought he was owed.

The prodigal son is not a story about the two kids, it is the story about the father, and his unfathonable love for his children..

Can you describe the "falling away" that is revealed in scripture? That has to be true because it's God's words not man's. What would cause that to happen? Now to clarify, if anyone is truly saved, and truly abides in Christ, then I don't believe they will fall away from Christ, but abiding in Christ is every day, not just a thing of the past.

The word 'ABIDE' means to 'hold to' or to 'acknowledge', so saying abiding in Christ every day is indicating, IMO, you appear to think similar to some on here who believe salvation has a revolving door

Reading your posts, I think you do side more with the op...I think you are being very selective with your words and rather guarded with your answers

I remember posting in an op you started some weeks back, and you were definately all for the observance of the OT...saying ALL the words of God are still in effect

I'm wondering what's going on exactly...I don't think you are mixed up or unsure...certainly not from what I remember of the op I mentionned

There is a Major flaw in your argument, When we place yourself. Myself. and this person who is an adulterer and bigomist up against the Law, We see that we all three fall short of the glory of God and non of us are worthy.

So if your going to look at yourself as compared to this person to see who is saved or who is not saved, or who is more worthy to be saved, or whatever, Your not looking at the correct standard. (I know. legalists do not like to hear this, the phairsee did not either, thats why they crucified Christ, You want to crucify me? Feel fre. I will be in heaven sooner)

Now. what would I do with them? I would do what the bible tells me to do with them, And trust God that God can change them, in whatever it would take to change them. Knowing I cant change anyone, I can just suggest. It is not my place to judge,

So can we get back to the issue of the gospel. and not these wild goose chase ad hominem arguments which does nothing to help us focus on the real issue.

There is sin to confront.

If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over.

You have to take a moral stand, set a list of principles. It sounds to me like just because of this particular argument you are saying you would leave them alone. I do not think so. So how are you going to enforce discipline in the body?

We are called to separate ourselves from those who choose to sin and refuse to resolve the issue. Where is your conversation?

Trying to use experience to establish true doctrine will always lead us to false doctrine.

But with this hypothetical, 99% of the time the right answer would be, " mind your own business you gossiping fool,you nor I know all the particulars."

Now if someone came up to me and asked for my opinion, and I heard it out of the horses mouth. I would try to guide them in truth.

But If I saw this.............I would mind my own business apart from SEEING/WITNESSING them breaking the law or them pushing their agenda on me personally( I would flee from them).

God is more than capable of disciplining His Children.
