The Law written on tablets of stone and the Law written on the heart is the same Law.

Good question.
Condemn as in judgement day? or in the moment/conscience?

For when Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, are a law to themselves, 15in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them,16on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus.
I know what is on our hearts can convict us (moment/conscience),
but can it condemn us (Judgement Day)? -specifically, the Law upon our hearts.

From what I am reading in the Word, God does not change, but something DID change when Christ laid down His life for us.

The result of His work effected ALL things.
Think of how the Prophets and leaders, from Joshua to Sampson to David, all fought against flesh and blood,
and yet we are told our fight is no longer against flesh and blood... then Christ told the disciples to sell their cloak to buy a sword, and then the Apostles tells us that the Word is the sword.

I don't understand the fullness of what changed, but something did,
and it is because of Christ and what He did for us.

Tearing the veil, Holy Spirit, crushing the serpents head, becoming the curse.... umm

Well you either obey it or you don't.
If you do obey, then I don't see why it would condemn us.
However, if we continue in sin after coming to a knowledge of the truth...

For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. 28 Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. 29 How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.” 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Then it would be better for us to be under the law of moses

Basicly, what I see on this thread are 4 views:
1. dispensational- OC abolished, no longer authoritative as commands to believers. Only commands reaffirmed in NT have authority.
2. roots- The OC is still in effect and applies to Christians. Only difference is that we have the Spirit to help us fulfill it.
3. freedom- We have no obligations in Christ, as all are fulfilled. Even our sins are considered righteous now that we claim Christ.
4. reformed?- The OC is not literal (Letter), but is types and symbols understood through the mind of Christ (Spirit).

"Dispensational" seems to make God change.
"Roots" is countered by Paul's teaching on circumcision.
"Freedom" is countered by every passage that demands righteous action on the part of Believers.

I think the Law on our hearts truly is the same as the Law on stone,
but that it is translated upon our hearts, no longer subject to literal interpretations of man,
but revealed as the Spiritual Law that it was originally written to be.

In this way, we can still be accused by that Law when we are disobedient, and yet not be called "under the Law".

The word of God paints pictures to help us understand truths greater than we can fully grasp.

The law on the heart is a picture, the new heart is a picture that tells us that God will do something in us to change us.

Our old Hearts did not have the law on them, they were not new and they were sinful. But God through these pictures in words is telling us that He will change our thoughts.

Rom 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
Rom 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Our carnal hearts were against God and not subject to the law of God. Thus we were dead in sins.

But God renews our mind through the Holy Spirit:

Rom 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Rom 8:12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
Rom 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Thus we no longer do the works of the flesh but by the Spirit our old nature/heart is dead and we are given a new nature in the Spirit that leads to life.

And thus the law is fulfilled in those who walk according to the Spirit:

Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Re: The Law written on tablets of stone and the Law written on the heart is the same

I wish people would turn from their sin

Re: The Law written on tablets of stone and the Law written on the heart is the same

excellent!

Can the Law written on our hearts condemn us? Or is that a contradiction?
I am asking sincerely, not a rhetorical question.

Even the 'unsaved' Gentiles, who do not have the 'law of letter' like the Jews, but have 'law written in their hearts' and even 'by nature' do what the 'law of GOD requires', according to Romans 2;14. And verse 15, says their 'conflicting thoughts' 'accuses' them.

Therefore 'a believer' probably, as 'babes in CHRIST', who remain 'partially' in carnal/flesh 'passions' and 'desires' and 'partially' in the gift of the HOLY SPIRIT and 'partially' in service unto the LORD and who only understand 'partially' taught Scripture of spiritual knowledge faith, are still in bondage of the carnal/flesh once again.

As Christians 'All Scripture', especially the New Covenant must be in our hearts, because according to the Gospel of John, the HOLY SPIRIT, 'will lead us into the full truth' (in All Scripture) and 'HE will remind us of 'All' that CHRIST have spoken' (all Scripture of the New Covenant, especially the Gospels) and etc.

Please have 'these' words/teachings of CHRIST of the New Covenant be in your hearts and your 'conflicting thoughts' according to them, either they 'accuses' you as, 'workers of lawlessness' or 'excuses' you as, 'job well done my faithful servant'.

And verse 16 says, 'on that day', all will be 'judged' according to the Gospel of CHRIST.

On the day of the anti-CHRIST, "GOD will send 'a strong delusion' on those who have 'not welcomed the Gospel' (everything written in them).

How can a Gentile be 'set free' from the 'law written in their hearts', while as a Gentile, they have come to CHRIST, upon Salvation through GOD's 'gift'?

Therefore they must 'continue their spiritual journey' hearing and practicing JESUS's words/teachings, written according to the Gospels, in Matthew 7; 24-27, 'about everyone then who hears these words/teachings of Mine/JESUS and does/practices them ........ And the ones who does not them?

And John 8; 31-33, about the ones who 'believe in JESUS', are therefore 'subjected to', 'Unless/If' they 'abide/keep/continue/etc.' in HIS word/teaching, they are HIS disciples and they will know the truth and the truth will 'set them free'.

How can 'one who say they believe in JESUS' be 'set free' from the carnal/flesh heart's 'law',even by 'nature' in the Gentiles or by 'a letter' in the Jews?

These were not only given to the Jews but also to the Gentiles, because under the 'great commission' of CHRIST, given to HIS Jewish disciples, according to Matthew 28; 19, 20 were;

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the FATHER and of the SON and of the HOLY SPIRIT, 'teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you'. ........................................"

As it is written in the Old and for reference that;

"Your heart is above all else deceitful."

Be blessed in the name of LORD JESUS CHRIST.
