a proverbial trademark, or signature, which distinguishes the beast whose 'number,' ie what it amounts to, is 'man' or secular humanism, which is all the rage now days... or anything like it that exalts man over God; there are many religions that do this in one form or another.
Yes, it is the number of any man that is marked with 66 + 6. This is man adding to the word of God.
According to the Strongs and the Thayer's Greek English Lexicon #G5482, the word "mark' in Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. The word "mark" is talking about a scratch, or an etching, something that is stamped or graven for the purpose of representing servitude and in this case it would be servitude as in completely subject to the beast.
So anyone who suggests or teaches that the "mark" of the beast is not a literal mark is talking non scriptural garbage and they haven't done the research needed to be properly informed as to what the Word of God is telling and warning us about.
I just saw an advertisement today about how it would be so much better to turn our complete financial system over to cryptocurrency and just the other day the US government seized some accounts with millions worth of cryptocurrency from terrorist groups like Islamic State and al-Qaeda.
Wake up and smell the coffee folks. The mark of the beast will be a tattoo and the currency of the future will be electronic money. No more cash and that is how the beast can control whether or not we can buy or sell. A cashless Society.
A lot of folks do not do proper research when it comes to understanding scripture but if you strictly stick with good research tools and the Word of God but stay away from commentaries and the chosen doctrinal beliefs of all denominations you will never be confused.

The mark of the beast was given to be able to identify the beast and the Great Whore. The number was first seen with the Babylonian empire. It started there. That is why the king was told he was the first to be reprinted in the image. If look down through history it was worshipping the sun, moon and stars. Babylon made a medallion to protect themselves from their false Gods. The medallion had a square with the numbers 1-36. When added together equals 666. The numbers represented the 36 constellations. The circle represented the solar system. Now what is the false doctrine do they push? Whorship that involves the sun, moon and stars. The one mostly seen doing this is the Arab nations.

600 + 3 X 20 + 6 = 666
The biblical significance of 6 is that it is allotted to man (or makind). But when it is expressed as 666 it represents the epitome of evil in a man, with the stigma of Satan attached. In fact the last six in 666 is the Greek letter stigma (instead of sigma). Thus the Antichrist is called the Man of Sin, the Son of Perdition.
Although this is not mentioned in the Bible, it should be obvious that since every person on earth will be required to take this number, it must be unique to each individual and at the same time have 666 as a part of that string of numbers (or numbers and letters). So the actual number could look like this:
666-743-890-021-565-3000. And it could be an electronic chip implant according to current technology.
Everyone should be aware that the minute someone takes this mark, he or she is ETERNALLY DAMNED. And the penalty for refusing to take that mark is beheading. This should be a warning to all who read Revelation that they must be converted now. The entire book of Revelation is a warning to the lost that they must obey the Gospel and be born again.

Scripture tells us that this mark will go in/on the hand or the forehead and that without it no one will be able to buy or sell.
To put that into perspective for today, that would be digital crediting and debiting. When people make their purchases say, at the grocery store, the products are scanned and identified by their Universal Product Code. When all are scanned, then the person scans their debit/credit card or their cell phone bank app. where their bank account is debited in real-time.
Now the next phase has been evolving which is the insertion of an RFID chip under the skin of the hand between the index finger and thumb. Sweden is way ahead of us in this technology in that, they and their sister countries are pretty much cashless, using only bank cards to make their purchases. Now the people of Sweden have been in the process of having this RFID chip inserted in replacement of the card swiping. This has even come to businesses in the US. This is the continuing evolution of the mark which will be ready to go in preparation for the revealing of the coming antichrist. I believe that this RFID chip technology will evolve into something more applicable. Whatever this technology evolves into, what will remain consistent is that this mark/device will go in/on the hand or the forehead. This coming mark is unprecedented and therefore did not previously exist, nor does it have anything to do with the sun, moon or stars. As we move forward into the future, cash and checks will continue to be phased out in preparation for a cashless world with the mark eventually being the only way to perform crediting and debiting to ones bank account, ergo, without the mark no one would be able to buy or sell.
PS Those in Christ will not have to worry about the mark, because the Lord will have gathered His church prior to that time. And that because the mark will become mandatory during the time of God's wrath, which believers are not appointed to suffer.

The mark of the beast has to do with technology for the beast's agenda is there is no personal God to help mankind, and benefit them, but mankind's technology and devices can help to achieve peace on earth.
Which will be a microchip just under the skin linked to satellite with all information about the person on the chip including finances, and if a crime happen they will know who was in the location and how close they were to the crime scene, and can locate people.
Going along with the beast's agenda and worshipping the beast precedes taking the mark of the beast, and when they take the mark then repentance and salvation are no longer available to the world, and God can end sin on earth.
They will use the excuse of the coronavirus to give all people a vaccine that is RNA genetic coding, nanotechnology, nanochips, so they can start tracking people, which because of United Nations Agenda 21 all people will be taken out of the rural areas and placed in the cities where they will be tracked, and no development can happen outside city limits.
This will condition them for a biometric system of a microchip just under the skin for they are used to being tracked anyway, which President Trump introduced this biometric system, and said if America had that in place 911 could of been avoided.
The New Age Christ, beast, will be of the occult, and the occult believes in the power of numbers for they are about the power of nature, and the adding, timing, and grouping of numbers which they believe will give them more power through nature.
The number 6 is the number of a man, or the soul of a man, so the New Age Christ assigned himself the number 666, a triple 6, for he believes it will give him more power through nature to evolve to be greater and spiritual, and to establish his kingdom.

The punishment's he could not bear Christ bore in his body. We do we receive a sabbath rest because of His labor of love or called work of faith.

The buying and selling has to do with the gospel . Not the needs of corrupted human flesh. There will be a three day a famine for hearing the gospel. The two witnesses the "law and prophets" will be killed/silenced. But again the gospel is not concerned with the temporal things of this world. But is with the food of doing the will of the father who works in us with us. Jesus called it meat .The kind of food (gospel) the disciples at first knew not of.

Regarding the word 'Charagma,' you also have to take into consideration that John is seeing technology of the future, of which he has zero to compare to from his time period. So he used the closest word that he could use to describe what he was seeing. He can't use the words syringe, computer chip, virtual buying and selling, etc., etc. He has absolutely nothing to compare to in order to describe what he is seeing.
That said, the fact that we are seeing people having RFID chips inserted under the skin of the hand which is being used to buy and sell, then it doesn't take much to put two and two together. No other generation was able to make the claims that we can today because of the virtual technology that exists.
The mark of the beast technology has been evolving for many years and now an actual device is being inserted under the skin of the hand and is being used to make purchases. This technology will continue to evolve in preparation for the revealing of that antichrist, so that everything will be set up and ready to go when his mark becomes the only valid way of crediting and debiting ones bank account. And this right under the noses of the the inhabitants.
I'm sure that the RFID chip will evolve into something more applicable as we move forward. What will remain constant will be that whatever the mark ends up being, it will go in/on the hand or the forehead.

Now if this mark,name,number image is something that is "spiritually seen" then only those who can spiritually see will be able to see it. So then the beast can see it or he wont know who to kill.

The literal meaning behind the symbolism of the seven heads and ten horns of the beast are revealed by the angel right in Revelation 17:
Seven heads = The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits. There are also seven kings.
Ten horns = The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but who for one hour will receive authority as kings along with the beast. The ten horns are ten future kings who will rule concurrently with the beast.
Therefore, they are not proverbs nor does it have anything to do with breaking the ten commandments.
The angel also tells John that "the woman you saw is that great city that rules over the kings of the earth." At the time that John was receiving this information from the angel, Rome was that city that ruled over the kings of the earth. Since the woman is a city, then this city is located on seven mountains/hills. Rome was literally build on and is famous for her seven hills.
The seven heads also represent seven kings. At the time that John was receiving this information Five of those kings had fallen, i.e. ruled and are now gone. One is, i.e. king number six was ruling at the time when John was receiving this information. The other (king number seven) had not yet come, but when he does he will continue only for a short time. Therefore, these seven heads represent a succession of kings.
It is very much a literal mark and nothing in scripture states otherwise. The mark will be in the right hand or forehead.

It will not be an implanted micro chip. It will be a visible mark that everyone can see.
