If we know what a word means, do we then have all the meanings of that word?

Let's look at the word "word" in some different ways.

The only Spanish word for it that I know of is "palabra," which I understand can also mean a promise or one's turn to speak.

In Greek, I know of the popularly recognized "logos" (LAH-gahs) as well as the more accurate term for the traditional word, "rhema" (RAY-muh).

English incorporates all of those meanings simultaneously, and then some:

Word can be used to mean
expression;
dialogue;
language;
idiom;
idea;
wisdom;
truth;
message;

even our glorious God Himself.

*Note:
I'm sure I missed many, so I welcome additional suggestions for broadly recognized applications of the expression "word."

Back on topic:
So does "logos" mean word? I would say about as much as transportation means Toyota.

Transportation means travel means distance means roads means cars means...

There is only one way to connect all the meanings and only one Spirit by which we may appropriately do so.

Our Lord Jesus Christ lived to perfection so that we might seek within Him how we might please the Almighty in search of His love.

The only way to find the meaning is to seek it with everything one has.

The rich man couldn't let go of his stuff.

How tragic to cherish what moth eats and rust destroys over the limitless treasures of a deeper life!

I refused to believe what men taught; that "divine mystery" was ever an acceptable answer.

The truth is as God says! There is no "but..." to follow any of His promises.

I believe what He says and He has shown me that all of His promises are true.

It's not after you die, my friends.

You can know Him now.

Keep seeking.

Yet, those that believe will, might go through trouble as well.
Seeing Job Chapter 1, where God allowed Job to go through troubles and boy did he. Now I see best to not deny God ever, for me at least, and I have gone through my own share of troubles too.
Matters not, I love the last Chapter of Job and James Chapter 1. then seeing by Faith given me, the risen Son now risen where new life is a gift to stand in, even if do not see it here presently either physically yet Spiritually do, thanks for the post

You raise an interesting question: How is the supernatural God able to communicate with humans?
If the NT is not too good to be true, then the Lord of the universe is neither dictatorial nor distant but rather relates to humanity. Although we cannot comprehend the infinite God completely, hopefully we can do so sufficiently in order to achieve the type of relationship God desires to have with humanity (John 14:9-25). God desires communion.

Reality is meaningful and communicable or able to be discussed rationally in fellowship with other truthseekers. As Isaiah 1:18a (c.735 B.C.) says, “Come now, let us reason together.” Perhaps whoever invented language should be regarded as the founder of this fact, because the discussion of reality uses language as the means, and in order to communicate sufficiently for attaining agreement or unity, it is necessary to have a common language and cultural context.

God’s superiority over His creation must be viewed as a matter of degree or quantitatively in order to preserve the continuity between God and humanity that would be requisite for communication (like the need for a common language and culture). However, the Bible teaches that God also differs from creatures in kind or qualitatively, so that attaining equality with Deity is impossible (Isa. 55:9, Eph. 3:19). We can be like God (Gen. 3:3), and we can become one with the Son of God (John 17:21-23), but we cannot become God.

Just for fun, search for the synonyms of cantankerous some time--and then the synonyms of the synonyms;
there are dozens! :LOL:
