good, so now you have stopped interpreting 70th week to only refer to Jews.
Yes, that's right. There is no ambiguity in the text. It says, "70 weeks have been determined for YOUR people." Gabriel is talking to Daniel about Daniel's people.

Are you saying I am not Daniel's people? How about Moses, and Elijah? When Jesus was on the mount of transfiguration and He was talking to Moses and Elijah, those are not my people? Who are the gospels written to if they are not written to His people?

What about Jesus' mother and brothers, are they Daniel's people? Because Jesus said whoever does the will of God, they are His mother and brothers.

Are you Jewish? If you aren't Jewish then no, you aren't Daniel's people.

You and I are God's people according to the Spirit (as Paul puts it.) Moses Elijah and Jesus are also God's people according to the Spirit, but they are Daniel's people according to the flesh. So Gabriel's word to Daniel was a prophecy about Daniel's people according to the flesh.

In Romans one Paul asserts that Jesus was the Messiah because he was a son of David, according to the flesh. Jesus' ancestry qualified Jesus to be a king of Israel and the Messiah.
What about Jesus' mother and brothers, are they Daniel's people? Because Jesus said whoever does the will of God, they are His mother and brothers.
You have put your finger on the perfect passage that illustrates the concept of "brothers according to the Spirit." Jesus was comparing his actual mother and brothers to those who by virtue of their being doers of the will of God, they are Jesus' spiritual brothers. You and I are Jesus' spiritual brothers, his spiritual people, if you will.

But Gabriel was talking to Daniel about his natural kinsmen to say that the clock was ticking for them.

So if I am reading you correctly the word of God in Daniel where he refers to the 70th week is referring to God's people according to the flesh and not according to the Spirit.

This is fascinating, how much of the Bible is written to God's people according to the flesh? Here I was thinking that when Jesus said "my words are spirit and life the flesh profits nothing" that this meant the Bible was written to God's people according to the Spirit and Life, not according to the flesh.

"It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life."

This still doesn't explain why those who do the will of God are not God's people referred to in Daniel.

Mark 3:33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? 34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

Daniel 9 was a test to see whether Israel would do the will of God. They God as far as "make atonement for iniquity", which Jesus performed by voluntarily going to the cross. He made atonement for iniquity.

But Israel failed to accomplish the rest of their task. They did not bring in everlasting righteousness, seal up vision and prophecy, or anoint the Most Holy Place. These tasks remained unfinished before the Roman wars and Israel was taken back into Exile.

Presumably, Jesus will accomplish these things upon his second coming.

That's right.

Daniel 9 was a test to see whether Israel would do the will of God.
Wow, I thought that "those who are in the flesh cannot please God" (Romans 8:8)

I would have thought God would have known that by the time He was speaking through Daniel.

So I guess that is another verse we need to ignore for your theory to stand along with

Mark 3:33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? 34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

and

"It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life."

Thank you for letting me know about these non Biblical theories floating around Christianity.

God knew it already. But Israel didn't know it. Thus the test.
Just before Jesus returns, Israel will finally understand. At that time, her people will be both people of the flesh and people of the Spirit.

They are Biblical.

You still have not explained why Jesus was wrong when He said that His mother and brothers were those that did the will of God. Are you saying that He wasn't talking to Christians? Nor have you explained why Abel, and Noah and Abraham, and Jacob and Joseph and all these brothers throughout the Bible knew that they were justified by faith and in their flesh could not please God but even as late as Daniel Israel still didn't know this. You also haven't explained how every word of God can be good for our instruction and how the things that happened to Israel were for our example, except for this verse in Daniel.

I think the real problem is you haven't explained where this doctrine that God's people according to the flesh are the ones that Daniel was talking to. I thought God is spirit and those that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth?

So no, this doctrine that Daniel is only speaking to Jews in the flesh and not to those who have been grafted into the vine is not Biblical, it is some absurd twisting of scripture.

I didn't say he was wrong.

This is true without explanation. Why would Gabriel be talking about anyone else?

Let's keep this straight. Daniel isn't speaking to anyone. Gabriel is the one who is speaking, and he is addressing Daniel concerning his people. I recommend reading the entire chapter of Daniel 9, to get oriented to the context.

Daniel 9 repeatedly and explicitly identifies “Daniel’s people” as ethnic Israel, and Gabriel’s prophecy is directed to them—not to the nations, not to the church, not to a symbolic group. The chapter itself gives multiple textual anchors proving this.

Daniel 9 is unmistakably about Israel. Daniel’s prayer is a national confession for “all Israel,” Jerusalem, and the sanctuary. In direct response, Gabriel declares that the seventy weeks are “for your people and your holy city,” meaning ethnic Israel and Jerusalem. Every element of the prophecy—the rebuilding of Jerusalem, the coming of Messiah to Israel, the destruction of the city and sanctuary, and the final covenant crisis—belongs to Israel’s covenant story. The chapter’s structure reinforces this: Daniel intercedes for Israel, and Gabriel answers about Israel. The text itself leaves no room for any other audience.

Would you like to specify what passages I tossed out or allegorized?
No. It would not matter.

The point is to get Bible doctrine. It takes many hours to come to a conclusion. One cannot post a sentence and have a doctrine explained.

You can explain your indoctrination in a sentence. But doctrine takes months/years to explain.

What good is it to claim that I have bad doctrine if you can't say why?
