Worry mostly originates from fear I would think.

We pray for a situation and it calms us for a moment but later we see things looking the same and begin to worry the outcome won’t come to pass for our good and blessing as we prayed for

It’s definately not a form of “unbelief “ in Jesus dyong and being raised but I would say it’s probably not conducive to walking in faith either ever considered Peter walking on water by faith but then he looked at the winds and waves and realized what was happening and then suddenly he began to fear and sink and drown before he called out and Jesus saved him ?

i think on my age group sometimes we worry about things approaching death maybe “ I’m worried my sins aren’t forgiven or that my works will come up short when I face the lord “

but my worrying is mostly behind me about life’s needs and daily things younger people deal with . Jesus spoke about this in the gospel how we worry our lives away about the next meal or the rent or house payment will come from but ….at the same time we have the creator and provider of the universe with us who’s promised to be there with us always and “meet our needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus “ yet worry sort of runs our minds and hearts …..we strive and struggle and worry and want but only one thing is needed

Seek the kingdom and his righteousness and all those things we humans worry and want for and need and struggle to get and strive after will be provided by the lord as we move along in faith
Yes you are absolutely right about this this was very nice and edifying to read.
I wonder if Jesus who ask the father to have the cup taken away from him would be accused of unbelief because he feared what he knew was going to transpire?
Worrying of what was about to happen and fearing it yet he said let your will be done, if unbelief was the same as worry then Jesus would be accused of unbelief and if this was a sin then he would not have been able to die on the cross for us

“Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; and being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭5:7-9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Amen The humanity of Jesus is important as well as his divinity we have true fellowship with the son in tbat he faced what we face it he overcame and was victorious

“Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Matt 6:25“For this reason I say to you, [q]do not be worried about your [r]life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26Look at the birds of the sky, that they do not sow, nor reap, nor gather crops into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more important than they? 27And which of you by worrying can add a single day to his [t]life’s span? 28And why are you worried about clothing? Notice how the lilies of the field grow; they do not labor nor do they spin thread for cloth, 29yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. 30But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! 31Do not worry then, saying, ‘What are we to eat?’ or ‘What are we to drink?’ or ‘What are we to wear for clothing?’ 32For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33But seek first [v]His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be [w]provided to you.
34“So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will [x]worry about itself. [y]Each day has enough trouble of its own.
What I get from this scripture is: 1. DON"T WORRY! ABOUT ANYTHING! Jesus is telling us not to, so that's a command.
2. Those that do worry a lot have little faith.
3. V33 This is what you replace worry with.
So, here's what we quit doing, & here's what we start doing.

Do you struggle with sin? Do you fear condemnation? Do you try and try but you just keep falling short? Do you often find yourself worrying about your impurity? Your slip ups, remembering every sin you ever did with guilt in your heart?

Stop and listen, free yourself from the chains you have burdened yourself with for there is only One who can bare them, and He died on the cross with them.

You have the truth. You know in your head this to be true. But you struggle in your heart to fully accept it; to truly live free in Christ

Stop and listen. You are no longer a slave to sin. It has no power over you any longer. You are now and forever clean and spotless in Christ, no matter how much you mess up. For every mistake, every sin, there is a drop of Christ's blood to cover you.

Do you not know the authority you have been given over sin and the devil? Are you not aware the position He has placed you in? They cannot touch you, they have no choice but to submit to you because of Christ who lives in you. The very notion that sin or the enemy can even come near you is laughable, ridiculous, bonkers, insane even.

Do the scriptures not say you have been made a rightful heir to His kingdom? Are you not royalty? Do you even understand what that means? Being royalty means you have the power. You have the authority. You have the say in the matter, not your sins or the devil

Cast down your chains, rebuke every notion that you are in any way inferior. Take captive every thought that makes you doubt this truth even a little. Never give it any room, never let it even reside in your mind. Rebuke it, cast it back to hell where only the filthy lies can go. Stand up chosen ones. Take your rods and show the devil who is the real boss around here. Use that fire that burns in your eyes. Let the flames in your soul stir and burn away every lie. You are not just chosen, you are not just strong, you are not just mighty in Jesus name. You are His child. You are forbidden to be touched, to be harmed, or to have your joy taken away. This can only happen if you willingly give it and let it.

And when you cannot stand any longer, the King will carry you and uphold you. He will renew your strength and make that fire burn alive in you again.

Truth is truth, it is finished being under Law that holds people captive. Christ fulfilled the Law and the Prophets Matthew 5:17, it is finished for us all to either believe God or not. It is done for us to be new in God's spirit and Truth, John 4:23-24 and love as God Loves us all y'all.
Now I bet, there are those that read Matthew 5:18 and use that to say it is not finished, since sin is still here in this world and this gets used, to accuse, abuse and excuse people, at their choice to do that and say God told them so to get away with sin and accuse others (Romans 2:1-4) Do as they say, they tell truth, yet do not do it. I know I did in past do that too.
A lie from the pit, The Law yes, is still in place, for who??????????????????????????????
The Law breakers, those in "Unbelief to God" and believers growing to see what new from Gos is for them too, these break the Laws of God! Those in belief learn new and see how to not to sin anymore, one step at a time, revealed to them personally by God personally not any other person. And these do not claim perfection of themselves once see the truth and abide in truth. These learn to let go of sin, humbly, at least me, I trust God to lead daily. Thanks to God in Son taking away sin first. (1 John 4:19) (John 1:29, John 19:30). In the one time willing death done once for us all first. Wow Isaiah 6:1-7
No more creating, thinking, comprising. Now responding in thanksgiving and praise over it all being taken out of the way by Father through Son for us all to respond and stop trying to create anymore, since we are not God. We are the creation, not a creator, a responder, at least me thanks Blain for the truth you stated in truth in the post

Yes preciely you hit the nail on the head with this one my friend. I have discussed this topic with people on different sides of the fence some who believe in sinless perfection some who say sin is still in us and thus everything I said was not true one person even said to prove it with scripture on this other forum I go to and I did but he never responded back after that

We are washed by the blood of Jesus and thus our sins are wiped away past present and future the reality of this is astonishing when one understands it and is all the more reason to praise God
You know I had a dream once and this was when I was very worried about my sins where a demon was holding me down wanting to rip me to shreds but I stopped it and said only if there is sin in my life and there was no sin to be found so the demon could not hurt me

Not that I do not sin but because of what Jesus did for us there was no sin to be found. even the devil will try to make us think sin has power simply because we do still sin but the power of sin is dead and the blood of Christ reigns

To see and be new, only comes from God for us all, at least me, this I now see after a daily walk off a short pier under Law first (About 30 years under Law). Now upholding Law as good, God's Holy Sprit now flowing through me, over Law that was trying to make me God, independent of God, as that was at the start of the first Adam, to begin with, deceived by that Age old Serpent
Yet, I had to go through the under Law first to see deeply I can't to do it as Galatians explains to me, from Paul who wrote Galatians, as Daddy led him to do. The end of my own self flesh energy saying to God "I" Can't Lord, "I" can't.
Then I heard in Father's Spirit and Truth, this is why I sent Son to go in your place and also for everyone else as well. That Floored me, I gave up being under Law to Upholding Law. (Romans 3:31) as good and God is the one and only one good, who, by Son gives us God righteousness to share and not lead as religion does that, as if are better than God, even though these will not admit that, I know I am not God and neither is any other flesh But Son's is
I see this:
Was put on the Judgment seat, to judge my two children and was told I can only pick one to live and the other had to die.
I replied What!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No, I cannot do that. Yelling take me instead!
Then I heard wisdom say, now you know PaPa's reason for Son for us to save us in his risen Life, yet frist had to take away all sin out of the way first to give new life to us the people that choose to believe God in risen Son for them too. Since no other flesh can do it
Believe, receive and be new in truth growing new daily into God's maturity
Thank you Blain for seeing. and listening to God, not me, self tor others either, as if others got it, where only God does got it, thanks to Son as risen for us to be new in the risen One who Won for us all, Thanks God

Where does baptism in Jesus name for remission of sins fit in ?

Isnt this part

“for this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭26:28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:3‬ ‭

what gives this part power not because anyone added anything. It because of what he said ?

“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:38-39‬ ‭KJV‬‬

in other words does Jesus dying for our sins make baptism irrelevant ? Or is that what makes baptisms a relevant and effective ? His death for our sins I mean
Does baotism have anything to do with bieng made new by the lord ?

“God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:2-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

does God get to determine his doctrine with things like remission of sins ? Or do we get to reject it because we say I believe ?

I think water baptism is not something that we can use to remove sins that alone is the blood of Christ the power of water baptism is a declaration of us dying and Christ living in us. it is not that water baptism is to be removed or anything but it is symbolic at best yet Jesus said we must be born of water and spirit the two baptisms so it clearly has importance doesn't it?

do you see a conflict with this

“I think water baptism is not something that we can use to remove sins that alone is the blood of Christ”

And this ?

“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,

and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:38-39‬ ‭KJV‬‬

or do you suppose if i believe this part about why Jesus shed his blood

“for this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭26:28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

if I believe that does it then tell my to reject what he said baptism is for ? Or that baptism is something done in water ?

“Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭8:35-38‬ ‭KJV‬‬

you see if I didn’t believe this part

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:3‬ ‭

Then baptism in Jesus name for remission of sins would be completely meaningless to me . But if I do believe that Jesus died for my sins then getting baptized in his name for remission of sins is what I would do knowing it’s what God said to do for remission of sins ……

At what point does me believing Jesus died for my sins , change everything he taught us who believe to do ? It’s actually meant to press us into action not keep us from it

baptism in jesus name for remission of sins is only of value to someone who hears and believes the gospel .

Another clear example is communion if I don’t believe Jesus gave his body and blood as an atonement for my soul communion doesn’t mean anything and so it’s an irrelevant ritual “ancient christians used to do “for no reason but really look what it actually does mean to a believer

“For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭11:23-30‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Is this like baptism also ? Should we take communion to actually not mean what it says and have not the impact it says it has ? Or should we hear and believe what Jesus and his apostles were teaching about these things in scriptire so we have faith and begin to act upon Gods word ?

notice that I one on the Bible ever says “ water baptism isn’t baptism “ they all were baptizing in water lol that’s why I keep showing those verses . Were Jesus apostles wrong to baptize people for remission of sins in water ? Or are we maybe wrong when we insist that’s not the correct baptism and not what it’s for ?

When I say “ doctrine “ thisbis what I’m talking about

this is a message we’re taught to believe

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

and that he was buried,

and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:3-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

So the belief is Jesus died for my sins , he was buried and rose up again on the third day after”

but then if I believe that , God has told me an action to take in faith believing the promise he attatched to it .

so that part of the message of jesus dying for my sins being buried and rising up again to new and lasting life

thats why we get baptized in jesus name for remission of our sins. It’s why we are placed beneath the water in his name who died for us and raised up again in his name who lives for us. And the promise is remission of sins not just “ forgivness “ but remission of brother “

its more than forgivness it’s also freedom from sins control over us. Its power to overcome sin ehos sting is death …..but baptism in his name places us in death with jesus

“Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: ( that’s god speaking through Paul about baptism )

that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.”( remission of sins power to corrupt and control us )
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:3-7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Paul just explained that baptism is into his death now he’s saying believe that you died with him n baptism and we’re raised up with him as a son of god to a new life free from sins dominion over you because you have now died with Christ for your sins and death is the price for sin they’re paid for now remitted you aren’t guilty anymore your now in the body of Christ baptized in his name whomis without sin but died for ours …..

there’s no reason fornus to change the doctrine it’s all centered on Jesus death and resurrection

believing isn’t the reason we don’t need to do what god said to actually do ….it’s the reason we do those things no different from Moses here

“And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt. And

Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days:”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭10:21-22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus said repent and believe the gospel be baptized in his name and have remission of sins . What would we then do if we believed him ? Act like Moses did and receive the promise ?

Or say I believe part of what he said so the rest is irrelevant and doesn’t mean what he said ?

Scripture says that his vblood is what removes sin as well as baptism but if water baptism was what removes sin alone then we wouldn't need Jesus to die for our sin. think of it this way John the batpist did water baptisms but did he ever say it removes sins or did he point to Jesus? again if it was as easy to remove sin as water baptism we would not need Jesus

I’m not saying baptism does anything without believing he died for our sins though is the thing they are part of a single doctrine we believe this part which is regarding his bloodshed that is what pays for the whole worlds sin

“for this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭26:28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

what im saying is that’s what propitiated for the worlds sin his blood she’s willingly on the cross

But the same God told us who do believe Jesus died for our sins or “ shed his blood for remission of our sins “ told us to do something in Jesus name and there’s a promise with it . Just like this

“Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: ( he’s telling Abram what to do)

and I will ( now he’s telling Abram what he will do ) make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: and I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; ( abraham believes what he told him so he acts upon it in belief ) and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭12:1-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Or like this

“And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt.

And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days:”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭10:21-22‬ ‭

God is always the same he tells us something to believe and then what to do and what the result will be if we do it . That’s faith

moses lift your hand and this will happen bit you have to act on my word promising this thing . Moses believed and acted and the word came to pass connected to what he said to do “ lift your hand and this will happen “

Or noah “ I’m going to flood the world noah build an ark like I tell you and you and your family will be saved and I’ll make a new covenant with you and your children “ Noah believed the world was going to flood so he acted upon that belief and was saved believing gods word

baptism is the same exact form God gave us a doctrine for remission of sins in Jesus name who died for our sins he told us what to do and what he’ll do for us if we believe him and act in faith .

If someone didint get baptized but believed im not saying thier lost . I’m just asking what about the doctrine were taught to act in ?

Like baptism for remission of sins in Jesus name ? Because we believe he died for our sins ?

Or communion ? Because we believe he gave his body and blood for us ?

see a non believer isn’t going to ever want to get baptized in the name of Jesus for remission of thier sins only a believer will do that one who acknowledges thier own sins beforehand knowing they need remission of sins

Worrying is not a sin in God's eyes my friend he doesn't want us to worry yes but nowhere is it ever stated to be a sin in scripture

Actually, Blain, as Edify posted in #23, Jesus commands us not to worry
in Matt. 6:25-34,which makes it pretty much a sin to disobey that "want".
(Hope this info doesn't make you worry about worrying :^)

Yeah it’s like if you have a group of non believers ….why would they take communion ? Why would they get baptized ? Those things and all the doctrine really …are all based on belief and taught to believers.

im Not sure that even makes sense but it seems like if I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose again for my justification and then his apostles are told to go preach the gospel to folks and baptize them who believe in his name . And they go about preaching the gospel and baptizing believers Like this

And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭8:35-39‬ ‭

imagine tbat testimony Philip comes along as you are reading isaiah 53 wondering who the scripture is talking about ? Who’s gonna die for the peoples sin ? Who is the prophet talking about that is going to take tbier iniquities upon himself bear tbier stripes and punishment and be a sacrifice for sin that appeases the lord ? Who’s this suffering servant Philip ?

philip now filled with the Holy Ghost preaches about how Jesus is that one it’s talking about and tells him all
About what’s happened and who Jesus is and you believe it’s true so you asked to get baptized ……but then suddenly as Philip has baptized you as you come out of the water ….he disappears and you don’t see him anymore …..how convinced this man was riding away I would venture to guess

a unforgettable and supernatural experience at his baptism and he carried that message back to Ethiopia where interestingly early exact copies of many important biblical texts especially Christian texts have been located.
