This is why I have always grappled with this issue ~ God has used so many women in such strong, powerful, beautiful ways...the verses I provided almost seem contradictory, but I don't want to discount Scripture at all. I want to take it for what it says.
You can go to the Scriptures for all of your answers, and still have questions about what the meaning of something is. I don't know where this preconceived notion is on here (sometimes) that if you ask a question about an interpretation of something than it means you don't understand the word of God or you don't use it as the main source of your Truth. I do...nobody knows every single tiny meaning that resides behind passages; it is okay to ask questions. I am not attacking you personally at all and this probably came off as harsh, but I am just putting it out there for people to read that it is okay to use the Bible as your source of infallibility and still have questions and seek the Holy Spirit and fellow believers for answers. well remember Paul was preaching to newly converted Gentiles it wasnt like he was preaching to the Prophets. the speaking out of turn thing was quite common and you know how us women in general love to talk. If we did not keep silent the men would not have been able to get a word in. It was to keep order in the church. Most women are respectful of that and do let men go first.
But that also means us women get the LAST word which is actually the most important as thats the one people remember...

Maryjo- yes, you are ok in your walk. Sadly it seems there is an uptick in trolls who "claim" Christ but goad those they supposedly claim fellowship with. The early church fellowship together and were in one accord. Today this is an imperfect way to communicate yet it does allow His truth to go forth. Jesus was clear how in this time many would have an outward form and deny the power, the rough time you had with your thread may be a part of what He meant.
He gave us each other, the "eklesia" to grow together, not tear apart.
