Catholics often cite the wedding at Cana as proof that Mary has unique persuasive power with Jesus — since He told her His time had not yet come, yet still performed the miracle. But if that single incident establishes Mary as an eternal intercessor, then by the same logic we could also pray to the Syrophoenician woman, because her persistence likewise moved Jesus to act outside His original mission (Mark 7:25–29).
.

Yes — the Catholic Church does encourage praying to saints for intercession.
Saints are friends of God who are already in Heaven. Because they are united with God, their prayers are considered especially powerful.

Is it in modern business talks and negotiations would go easier if arranged by a friend of both parties?

@ NightTwister

Your right, I am comparing the Textus Receptus VS the critical text, (Westcott and Hort), the Codex Vaticanus and Codex Sinaiticus, trying to "enlighten" some of you folks, to the agenda of the Catholic Church, over these past 500+ years. The Antichrist's efforts at a "Counter Reformation, by the Jesuits, to destroy our spiritual awareness AND connection to our Lord Jesus, The Faith OF Jesus AND His Righteousness.

The corruption of these modern Bibles, the NIV in particular, where the "Faith in Jesus", VS the "Faith of Jesus" is but one ( be it VERY significant ) of 100's of corruptions, when looked at as a whole, show a pattern, which supports Catholic theology and anti-Christ objectives.

The Catholic Church does not sanction the King James Version (KJV) for use in liturgy or devotional study because it is a Protestant translation. Some Catholic sources express strong reservations about the KJV, describing it as potentially misleading or doctrinally flawed due to its omission of certain books and its Protestant orientation.

So, "critical text" modern translations, e.g NIV, are paramount in bringing the Catholic Church back into spiritual power, here on Earth, in these very last days of history, as proclaimed in Bible Prophecy.
  • Daniel 8:23‑25“And in the latter time of his kingdom shall he speak great things against the God of truth, and shall prosper, and shall destroy the saints… He shall even magnify himself above all gods.
    • ”The “little horn” that grows out of the fourth beast is seen as a symbolic portrait of a future political‑religious leader who will exalt himself, deceive many, and persecute God’s people.
  • Daniel 9:26‑27“And after threescore and two weeks … shall confirm a covenant with many … and in the midst of the sacrifice … he shall cause the abomination of desolation.
    • Often linked to the Antichrist’s treaty with Israel, followed by a break of that covenant and the erection of an “abominable” image in the holy place.
  • Matt 24:15, 1 John 2:18, 1 John 4:3 .... etc. .... etc .... etc
Same circular reasoning.

I don't "pray" to my friends when I ask them to pray for me. I just ask them.

I don't "pray" to my friends when I ask them to pray for me. I just ask them.
Catholics 'pray' to saints is just asking him to pray for me.
Otherwise, you have the email address or whatsapp account of the saint? Or his cell phone #!

Is there an example from scripture of someone asking a dead "saint" to intercede? Or any doctrine that teaches it?
Try this one:

Revelation 5:8
"The twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb... each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people."

The “elders” (saints in heaven) are presenting prayers of the faithful to God.

If saints were 'dead', then you would be refuting the primary dogma of christianity on eternal life.
People physically dead were real dead, cannot do anything! That's is wrong.

Many sincere people within the Roman Catholic Church truly love God and seek to serve Him. But as followers of Christ, we must “prove all things; hold fast that which is good” (1 Thessalonians 5:21). When we test Catholic doctrine against the King James Bible, several contradictions appear that cannot be ignored.

1. Authority
  • Catholic teaching: Church tradition and the Magisterium (Pope and bishops) hold equal or greater authority than Scripture.
  • KJV Scripture:
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine…” (2 Timothy 3:16–17)
God’s Word alone is the final authority — not councils or papal decrees.
2. Salvation
  • Catholic teaching: Salvation comes through faith plus works, sacraments, and the Church.
  • KJV Scripture:
“For by grace are ye saved through faith… not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8–9)
The Bible teaches salvation by grace alone through faith in Christ alone — not by rituals or church membership.
3. The Role of Mary
  • Catholic teaching: Mary is called “Mediatrix” and “Co-Redemptrix,” receiving prayers and intercession.
  • KJV Scripture:
“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” (1 Timothy 2:5)
Jesus Christ alone bridges the gap between God and humanity.
4. Confession to Priests
  • Catholic teaching: Sins must be confessed to a priest for absolution.
  • KJV Scripture:
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins.” (1 John 1:9)
Only God forgives sin; no human mediator is needed.
5. Purgatory and Indulgences
  • Catholic teaching: A place of purification after death, where souls are cleansed before entering heaven.
  • KJV Scripture:
“Absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 5:8)
There is no mention of purgatory — the believer’s soul goes immediately to be with Christ.
6. Idolatry
  • Catholic practice: Prayers before statues, relics, and images.
  • KJV Scripture:
“Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image… thou shalt not bow down thyself to them.” (Exodus 20:4–5)
God forbids any form of veneration through images.

The Call to Return to God’s Word
The true Church is not a denomination or institution — it is the body of believers redeemed by the blood of Christ. Jesus said:

“Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32)

Let us test every doctrine by Scripture alone — not tradition, not emotion, but the unchanging Word of God.
For the Word of God stands forever, and it alone reveals the way of salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord.

“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” — Matthew 24:35

Grace and Peace
"many people within the roman catholic church TRULY love God"..... ? hhhhhhmmmmmmm!!! i don't think so. why? it's easy! if they truly love God, they wouldn't be catholic. comparison: born again Christians truly love God because they don't add, take away or change God's word as catholics do. ( Proverbs 30:6 ). b.a. Christians study God's word as God authored it with the help of the Holy Spirit: ( 2nd Timothy 2:7, 15, John 16:13 & 14: 26 ). born again Christians don't make up practices, rituals, holidays, confess sins to a priest, pray to statues, say false prayers like the hail mary, they don't hope they are going to heaven, they KNOW they are going to heaven, the don't believe in going to heaven buy performing good works & they don't create saints like Kateri Tekawitha.

Try this one:

Revelation 5:8
"The twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb... each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people."

The “elders” (saints in heaven) are presenting prayers of the faithful to God.

The elders are holding the bowls containing the incense, but that's it. They're not interceding on behalf of God's people; the prayers are going directly to God. This passage also seems to be missing anything about God's people asking the elders to intercede. Try again.

Who did Jesus pray to?
Be like Jesus.

Matthew 6:9-13

“This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.’

Sorry ! Dude .. but either you don't know what your talking about .. OR you are a shill for the Catholic Church... ( I suspect the later )
Back months ago, when I first responded to you, and you quoted "Fred Flintstones" in a doctrinal discussion, I suspected something along these line .. but thought I'd give you another chance ... but it seems you are of the same mindset, still.

Isaiah 8:20, which states, "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" So ! 2 Tim 3:5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

I know exactly what I'm talking about. You clearly have no understanding of logical fallacies. And no, I'm not a member of the Roman Catholic Church.

You don't read.
The verse clearly says:
'... they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people."

How come getting to you turns out: 'containing the incense, that's it' ?

Was that your holy spirit guided you to take out those words you don't like?

That's right, they're holding the bowls full of incense which are the prayers of God's people. How does that qualify as intercession? They aren't petitioning God for anyone; the people's own prayers are ascending directly to God.
