For the most part, I agree with you. We are all new creations because of the salvation Jesus' death and resurrection offer. But that salvation doesn't mean we just sit on our keisters and do nothing, all the while saying "I love God, I love my neighbor." You actually do things to show it. That's where obedience to God's commands comes into play. And the obedience to God's commands doesn't negate salvation by grace unless you intend it to do so.
I don't understand how you can be saved by the Lord Jesus Christ, be born again of the Spirit, and go back to working at the law by your flesh and think that is obedience.
Unless you don't read or understand the NT at all. Even then you should still have some sort of understanding of being dead to the law and alive to Christ.
Romans 7:4-6
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
Isn't that christianity 101?
Are we blessed by the Lord Jesus Christ and then double blessed by our own obedience to the ministry of condemnation written on stones? Seems extremely contradictory to me.
