Was hoping to say hello to likeminded believers here and ended up reading yet another pissing contest.
Is the room really so small that everyone has to jam pack at this little corner?

Hey brother GregoryC the sabbath is not a Jewish tradition. God established it before there were any Jews (Genesis 2:2-3). As you know Israel was established with Abraham and God chose Abraham because he kept God's commandments, statutes, and laws (Genesis 26:5). It is a God's special day that He made for us, to strengthen our relationship with Him...like a date. And we keep it in Heaven (Isaiah 66:22-23). God bless.

Last night before sundown, we got our house nice and clean. My wife made an awesome meal for us. We got to eat by candlelight. We shared some bread and wine (juice for the kids), and had some special desert. After dinner I read from John and the kids got to ask and answer some questions. Then we blessed our kids, prayed for them, sang a blessing over them and tucked them in. And here in a couple of hours, we'll head to church for the day and get home around sundown,

Most people probably don't care about the particulars of my Sabbath, but I suppose it's an attempt to get the focus of this thread back on blessing and encouraging one another, instead of turning into yet another argument and debate. And that includes some "Sabbath Keepers" who like to make it a point debate.

Regardless, this what Sabbath looks like for me today.

Sorry I was in the middle of my last post, got side tracked, then come back, finished what I wanted to write and hit reply not realizing you have already said I wanted to say.
Weather has been bad and lots of folks got ill including the wife. She had a good 14 hours of sleep and hopefully we'll get to enjoy the rest of the day at home.

Yes it's good to know and the first reason I turn on the computer on the Sabbath. Now I must turn it off so I may finish my little bible reading... Take care.
 
So what about Genesis 2:2-3? And the Sabbath was kept before mount Sinai (Exodus 16). The commandments were given after the manna. It was even kept in Egypt by the Israelites right before they were came out of bondage (Exodus 5:5).

I have never stop asking Him to open my eyes and thus from a born RC I turned into a Protestant and then into where I'm at now not going to any denominational church but have some likeminded fellows gathering together on the Sabbath. Now I must go and finish what I have to read before they come over. Thanks for the comforting words.

Show me where we are commanded before sinai. Not some vague interpretation. Please...

Every day, even today, I ask God to open my eyes to the things I don't yet understand.

All of us have holes in our theology and our understanding of God. All of us are doing things "wrong" in one way or another because we have a finite understanding of an infinite God. It doesn't make us any better or worse in His sight, because it's only by His Spirit that we're able to see and understand even the simplest thing about God. But every day, we're being made more and more into His likeness. Am I more in that likeness today than I was yesterday? I sure hope so. But that also means that I'll be more in His likeness tomorrow than I am today. And the same applies for my views of every other Believer in Messiah. That's why I don't spend time judging or condemning others. We all have just as many flaws in our theology as everyone else. So for me to spend time saying I'm more right than someone else is pointless. Assuming we're all running hard after God (which I think many in here are), we're exactly where God wants us to be.

I am going to head out to do some ministry. I guess I will be breaking the sabbath, because it is labor and work (although not getting paid for it. Doing What God has blessed me to do),

Guess if it is a sin, God will not bless me. put punish me.. Oh well. My daughter needs served and shown God loves and not everyone does things for something in return.

Should I repent now or ask forgiveness later?

You're right to some extent Greg, God didn't specifically command His people to observe the Sabbath until the wilderness. But in that same vein, once He did tell us to observe it, He's never told us to stop.
 
You are assuming He was speaking to you and me. Unless you are a Jew under the old Mosaic covenant.
 
It is plain as day right there in the story about the manna...before mt. Sinai.
