So true with 2 Cor 12 but in my case sin is looking at every possible way to creep in - only through watching and praying without ceasing could I fight against it.
I found out that when "I" fight against it "I" am in essence sowing to the flesh:
Galatians 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
It took a while to see through to this cause of me continuously sinning, the reason for it. Even though I did not want to sin, the harder "I" tried the worse it became and the more "I" repented over and over again asking God to forgive me over and over again, in prayer after prayer and then right back out there doing that same behavior I hated and did not want to do, back and forth like yo-yo up and down like a teeter totter. Not seeing by thought alone, my emotions predictably respond to whatever I am thinking about, knowing no tight or wrong and thus emotion takes a hold and I react accordingly to sin even though "I" do not want to.
Is that familiar?
So what did "I" have to do and each day do?
Get rid of the "I" and trust the inner man of me new heart, The Holy Spirit that leads one to all truth, truth that sets one free to love as God does love. No more focus on whether one sins or not, conscience purged by Christ at the cross and sees the new life in Spirit and is too busy thanking and worshiping God for this amazing grace, sin has vanished, for sin only has control by one's thoughts about whether they will sin or not
Praying god shows you this not for boastfulness but for humility in him
So we do as justly as possible. love Mercy and walk humbly
Hebrews 10:2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
So by Christ then should we still have conscience of sin? or be purged to walk as Christ walked in love from Farther to all
Not to be argumentative here Homeward, but it mattered to Christ. He used this one particular event to identify Himself as the true Messiah...

Christ said that He would be in the tomb for three days and three nights. This puts His resurrection just before sunset on Saturday afternoon. The world has adopted a pagan holiday that clouds the meaning of the Passover and Days of Unleavened Bread with colored eggs, chocolate bunnies and a practice of worshiping the queen of heaven (good ole Semiramis herself,) along with Nimrod and Tammuz.
The idea of a son dying and being resurrected predates Christ by over 2000 years and God forbids weeping for Tammuz...

Jphn are you not the one that said it was not three days? and he compared this three days to Jonah. Christ is the messiah, the way, the truth and the life no one gets to the Father except through him truth or error?

Please be honest in stating what we believe and teach, and celebrate. Now you can certainly disagree, but please don't twist our words................thanks.......

No, I am the one who said that it is three days and three nights exactly like Christ said it would be. I have always said three days and three nights.
Well my friend, you may believe that "resurrection Sunday" is about the women finding an empty tomb, but that is not what is taught by just about everyone else. They teach that Christ was resurrected early Sunday morning.
The resurrection of Jesus is the Christian belief that Jesus Christ miraculously returned to life on the Sunday following the Friday on which he was executed by crucifixion. It is the central tenet of Christian faith and theology and part of the Nicene Creed: "On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures".[1][2] - Wikipedia

4/13/2012 - JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, N.J. -- Service members and community members came to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst to celebrate Easter Sunday April 8.
Air Force and Army chaplains worked together to create a joint Protestant Easter Sunrise Worship Service at Doughboy Field here. The event was led by Army Support Activity, Religious Support Office, Deputy Command Chaplain Lt. Col. Andrew R. Harewood.
Harewood, who hails from Springfield, Pa., gave the event's Easter message titled "Who Shall Roll the Stone Away."
"The sunrise service really signifies of the risen lord," Harewood said. "The passion weekend begins with Good Friday when the lord is crucified and ends on Sunday morning when he is resurrected. I think the significance for Christians is the poignant focus Easter puts on the idea that this is why he came and this is why he died."
Music for the event was provided by The Anointed Sons. The band, which is based out of the shore area of New Jersey, is made up of Jesse Moorer, organist, Stacy Lawrence, back-up vocals, and Antonio Lawrence, lead singer.
The music and vocals from the band were meant to put participants in a celebratory mood because the event celebrates the resurrection of Christ, said Harewood.
The event also included prayers, a scripture reading and communion, among others activities, and was followed by an Easter breakfast at Dix Chapel.
The division over Jesus' resurrection is whether it was on Saturday, the Sabbath, or Sunday, the first day of the week.

I have celebrated my birthday every day of the week close to 8 times each day of the week. I believe Jesus rose from the dead on the first day of the week, and was buried after the sun set three days previous. It took some time for Joseph to converse with Pilate and bury Jesus. That process clearly started well after 3 PM. It was the spring time and the sun set earlier than in the summer. After sundown, when the lamb was slaughtered is when God passed over.
Exodus 12:12-13 (KJV)
[SUP]12 [/SUP]For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.

The Passover is God's actions concerning the Lamb of God. Passover is not a noun, it's a verb.
We should be celebrating God's actions because of the Lamb of God! There is no change from what was first established in the law. Read it for yourself. Passover is the 15th, and the resurrection is the 18th. Neither day is named after the Gregorian calendar days.
See Exodus 15:22-26 that describes the 18th day, and the tree related to the cross, and the water relating to the woman at the well.

To put together the words "EASTER" and "RESURRECTION SUNDAY" is already mixing what is pagan with holy. When the disciples found out is besides the point isn't it?

Are you studying Jeremiah now?
You know what, it all happened to me on one Saturday. The wife was away with her mom on a vacation. I was bored and decided to "try" a Sabbath by doing nothing but reading Jeremiah in one seating, which normally would take a full year of Sunday school to cover. It's only then I found out how ignorant I was.

Focusing on prophecy right now, and that takes me all over the Bible.
Thanks for sharing your "aha" moment, that's great. I guess it's kinda like a big world event, in that you'll always remember where you were and what you were doing when it happened.
My Sabbath guarding began shortly after finding CC. I was craving "real" Bible discussion which is sorely lacking in my life although I live amongst believers. The first nudge from God was a burning question, "What is His Name?" I studied and found what is my belief His Name is, In the Paleo-Hebrew
and as for pronunciation, would vary as much as the individual's dialect varies ..
In the same week, burnin the midnight oil, it was Bam! Remember the Sabbath!...Bam! Do not worship the Lord your God as pagans worship their gods... Bam! No idols!(house,car,stuff) The old Testament is alive today and forever!
It was quite a shock and wake up call, to be made aware of how well satan had deceived me. I have been luke-warm far too long. Complacency I suppose is the deceivers hedge bet.
