I have tried to work it in but not in the draino sense of things, I would consider that which is shown as deadly which is the tongue in James (and various references to drinking in realtion to it) as it the poisons of the same.
For example,
Job is shown as a man drinketh scorn (that proceeds from the mouth of others)
Job 34:7 What man is like Job,
who drinketh up scorning like water?
James says the tongue is full of deadly poison
James 3:8 But the tongue can no man tame;
it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
You can speak life and death thats probably why is called a deadly poison
Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue:
and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Drink deadly poison through your own lips or even through the lips of another (in bitterness and cursing) Psalm 109:18 what goes out enters back into oneself ( inherit the blessing rather 2 Peter 1:9-10, & James 3:10)
Thats just on if we take Mark into an account in that sense, Acts 28:3 is just shaking off a literal/ physical snake and so that was poison directly into Pauls blood stream not drinking it (in at the mouth)
Mark 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
The tongue can be sharpened like a serpent
Psalm 140:3 They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.
Using deceit, or the poison of asps.
Romans 3:13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit;
the poison of asps is under their lips:
Romans 3:14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:
Dwelling among scorpions,
But it says be not afraid of their words, (twice, so .... we have "speaking" scorpions)
Ezekiel 2:6 And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them,
neither be afraid of their words,
though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions:
be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.
Scorpions of the earth have power (and to hurt)
Jesus gives power over theirs
Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions,
and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

The tongue is full of deadly poison
O generation of vipers,how can ye being evil, speak good things?

Which always reminded me of this before I knew
They shall take up serpents and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them
Now with Moses with any literal sense of taking up serpents is shown
But even with Moses even, it never really started out in Moses as snake handling but rather a rod first
So God was teaching Moses a little about snake handling but not by fetching snakes
but rather by using the rod in his hand to do so
And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.
And he said, Cast (( it )) on the ground.
And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent;
and Moses fled from before it.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail.
And he put forth his hand, and caught ((( it )))
and it became (( a rod )) in his hand:..... ((behold)) ... I ((( give you))) power
After that rehearsal, Aaron was told to
Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh,
and it shall become a serpent.
So did Pharaohs wise men so the same
For they cast down every man his rod,
and they became serpents
but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods.
Whereas here
In Numbers 21:6 it says,
And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Then here,
Psalm 78:49 He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble,
by sending evil angels among them.
So they seem to represent another thing as Luke 10:19 serpents = spirits in Luke 10:20 as God sent Saul as evil spirit to trouble him too
Numbers 21:7 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said,
We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD,
and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us.
And Moses prayed for the people.
Numbers 21:8 And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.
Numbers 21:8 9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole,and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.
Which is a figure for Christ (as we know it)
