Please do not take this as any disrespect towards any of our troops, because I understand that's what they are told and many of them genuinely believe as well. I would never say anything to intentionally dishonor them at all, but they fight for the rich mans wallet now, not "our" freedoms. When the rich man decides it's time, they will also be the ones that round up us trouble makers. The US soldiers at one time did fight for our freedom, and for that I am very grateful, but make no mistake now they work for the bankers. I know this isn't what this thread is about, and I happen to agree with your points, I just felt compelled to point that out.

Being a U.S. Marine in the 80's I agree with this.....it seems we hover over the Middle East for the oil which drives the economic way of life and for the sake of National Interest. I do agree that if we are attacked that we should defend ourselves and the home land, however....for the sake of National Interest/Oil and the riches that we have in this country we have killed a lot of innocent non-combatants, children and women that have been lumped under collateral damage. I also believe that the only other nation we should help defend is Israel.
Just my view as well......

Agree with this, the US and it's allies cannot be expected to police the world and when we try to do so we only seem to accumulate more enemies. It's a fine line we tread though as ignoring an invasion such as the Russian one at present brings to mind the events leading up to WWII. Sometimes ignorance isn't bliss.
How about CALM down CALMinian as it does to some extent go to your post......as in DEFENDING ourselves/YOU and ALL Americans with WEAPONS if attacked...as well as using WEAPONS to defend ISRAEL if attacked....HAHAHHA funny
AND most posts occasionally CHASE the proverbial RABBIT to some extent.

It's off topic. I'm asking respectfully for you to respect the topic and keep in on pacifism, not opinions about US intervention. That's a rabbit trail that will hijack the thread.

LOL ok I understand. Guess that wasn't the best example concerning today's problems. But it used to be, right? Sorry I guess I just take this serious because too many people think that because we are Christian we have to be pasifist and not defend ourselves, family or others.
How about a couple other examples. My cousin is a state trooper in Texas he had to shoot someone once. His sister is a correctional officer in a Texas jail her husband is a game commissioner dealing with the Texas borders. All three Christians, all three armed, all three willing to kill to defend the public. Now yes they are public servants but...Also Christian.
Actually there are a few cases when talking them down has worked, rare yes but it has happened, and I will fight if need be to protect others I have no issue with the whole fighting to save others. What I have an issue with is calling it a sin not to fight, there are many reasons why a person wont or in some cases cant fight. For instance the enemy could be big and stong and the hero in the situation has never fought in his life and is weak, or the person is terrified or the person freezes up under pressure or the person is to soft and cannot hurt another human being.
To choose to willfully not do anything when you know you can is wrong and is a choice but nowhere does it say in the bible its a sin. It may fit into the category of being wrong but i think its only a sin if you have the power and ability to fight and protect but just let it happen.
Now me, I have never been in a fight in my life and I have literally no muscle but I will still give it everything I've got to protect others but not everyone is able to do that.

Yeah no doubt...wouldn't want you to loose your pacifism! So....you are saying that we should be allowed to defend ourselves in certain circumstances and it would be OK...right? If yes then I agree.......for sure!
This was written for the believer who was under the Law of Moses. It's meaning and application for the New Testament saint is different.
