, for this is how it appears to a person with a merely natural mind, besides,
The natural mind of man cannot understand Paul's message. Believe you have no righteousness of not committing sin and sin shall no longer be your master
BTW
If Paul the christian is being spoken of in Rom7:14-24 he is writing to people living far holier lives than he is

God shall smite thee, thou whited wall: for sittest thou to judge me after the law, and commandest me to be smitten contrary to the law?"

The other commandments, which relate strictly to the ceremonial laws,
Not so, Not laying with animals, not committing incest, not touching dead things, taking care of our waste, teaching the word of God to our children and keeping it in our thoughts throughout the day, Love God with all our might and love our neighbors are but a few commandments that are not even remotely covered in the Decalogue yet are still laws if not obeyed are sinful and harmful to us and others. As a matter of fact if they were not mentioned in the Book of the Law they would not be covered whatsoever except through God's Spirit. The issue is when we sin we harden ourselves to His Spirit and hear less and less.

What covenant? No it's not one of the Promise! I think u referring to Mose....I'm Not
They lived in A place of many evils & idolatry that generation of Moses /Aaron had to die off

The kingdom of God is inside me The covenant to me

If Not knowing that ,then start over ,& uneducate yourself. I gave you another secret Jesus rarely quoted many scripture at one time he stuck with one scripture and you feel it's meaning to our understanding. The more scriptures you people post the less you actually tell me you know and I would be the first to tell you I know nothing . Another secret right in the open the baptism is the fulfilling of the Covenant of Abraham. Until you know that you don't know Covenant because we are of the new of of the Quickened Spirit of The living The God !

If the law points out sin and reveals our sins, then they have not disappeared because we are still sinners today.

Paul explains it in Romans 7.

Rom 7:7-14
What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. ...9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. ...11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me. 12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. 13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. 14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

The law reveals Sin.

1Jn 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

The fact that Jesus died on the cross means that the law was not removed or changed. He died to free us from the penalty of sin. He paid the price of sin which is death.
If Jesus changed or removed the law we would not need salvation from sin.. The cause of sin would have been removed.
If the law could be changed then Jesus would not need to die. God is unchanging and His morals and principles are unchangeable.
  • Severe warning: Paul goes so far as to tell the Galatians that if they try to be justified by the law, they have "fallen from grace" and Christ is of "no value" to them (Galatians 5:4
  • Fruit of the Spirit vs. Fruit of the Law
  • External compliance: The law can force external compliance (e.g., physically resting on Saturday or not stealing), but it cannot change a a man heart. It often produces a spirit of rigidity, judgment, and fear.
  • Internal transformation: The Holy Spirit produces internal fruit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
  • Beyond the law: Paul adds a vital note at the end of that list:
  • "Against such things there is No law." If you are led by the Spirit, you are living at a level far Higher than the Ten Commandments could ever demand.
Ultimately, trying to live under the law while claiming the New Covenant is like trying to Breathe under water; it uses the wrong environment for survival. The Holy Spirit is the Breath of the New Covenant, and He only thrives where Jesus' grace is the sole foundation.

so Jesus when he said to the rich young man to enter into life to follow the commandments and them enumerated them was all wrong?

Jesus was wrong?? Did he change his mind? did not God ask us to listen to him? are not his words eternal life? was paul wrong also the he said the commandments were just and Good?

ypu and @rogerg speak of the law of the spirit of life, or other statutes what are they exactly can I have the details? when Jesus spoke of the Commandments , he Spoke of the Ten commandments and made it clear, what you say provide no clarity, i need the details or all of it remains perfectly vague.
Spiritual truth is understood spiritually. The Law of the Spirit of Life is not a set of rules to follow. Birds do not understand the laws of physics or gravity. They fly anyway. When they quit flying, gravity enables them to land. No one understands gravity. We are all subject to it anyway.

Do you not realise that there is a new covenant in the Blood of Christ? If the Old Covenant was enough, there would have been no need to replace it. The problem with the Law is not the law itself. The problem is that man refuses to obey it.

God's remedy is to change the nature of man. This He does via the cross. When we accept Christ, God includes us in His death. Since Adam died spiritually, so we also must die spiritually. God removes the old, sinful nature from us and gives us a new, live spirit where He is able to dwell.

The believer should be following the leading of the Holy Spirit that indwells him. The Holy Spirit works through intuition and conscience. Intuition leads us to to and say what God is doing and saying. Conscience warns us when we are wrong or considering wrongdoing.

Doing what is right in our own eyes is not necessarily right in God's eyes. We may be following the letter of the law but still be in the wrong. Lord Jesus said that even looking at a woman with lust is adultery. Outwardly, all is well. Inwardly, God tells us that we are wrong.

For example, I very much wanted to go to Bible College when I was first saved. I tried a number of ways but every time I was blocked. I realised that God was not in it. The 10 commandments are useless in that instance. If I'd been more mature, I would have known that it was not God's will. But I was only a learner. And I am still learning 54 years later.

Life in the Spirit was God's will from the beginning. God did not give Adam ten commandments. He offered him life. As we all know, Adam blew it big time. God's restoration of fallen man again offers man life. The law's purpose is to lead us to Christ. Then we have the opportunity to life according to the new life that Christ becomes within us. Or we can live according to the knowledge of good and evil. And that is why so many Christians suffer so much failure.

BTW
Paul did expressly write concerning the ten commandments. He said the law engraved in stone is the letter that kills, the ministry of death and condemnation(2Cor3:6-9)
The problem with that interpretation is that it takes 2 Corinthians 3:6–9 out of its full context and then uses Paul to overturn the clear words of Jesus. let me explain and please read the full text, I spent some time to write it for you.

Jesus Himself, One with GOD said:

“If you would enter into life, keep the commandments.” Matthew 19:17

“If ye love me, ye will keep my commandments.” John 14:15

Now look carefully at what Paul actually wrote:

“Who also made us sufficient as ministers of a new covenant; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. But if the ministration of death, written, and engraven on stones, came with glory…” 2 Corinthians 3:6–7

Paul does not say that the Ten Commandments are evil, false, or abolished. He says that the covenant administration written on stone was a ministry of death because it revealed sin and condemned the sinner.

The commandments themselves are not the problem. Sin is the problem.

The Bible explains this very clearly:

“Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.” 1 John 3:4

Because all people have sinned, the law brings condemnation. That is why it is called a ministry of death: it exposes guilt.

Think of it like a mirror. A mirror shows the dirt on your face. The mirror did not make you dirty. It simply revealed the dirt that was already there. In the same way, the Ten Commandments reveal sin, but they do not create sin.

Jesus never taught that the commandments were abolished. Instead He said:

“Think not that I came to destroy the law or the prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfil.” Matthew 5:17

“Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished.” Matthew 5:18

“Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:19

The promise of the New Covenant is not that God removes His law, but that He places it within His people.

I will put my law in their inward parts, and in their heart will I write it.” Jeremiah 31:33

The law moves from stone tablets to the heart of the believer.

That is the real contrast Paul is making in 2 Corinthians 3. The old administration was written on stone, revealed sin, and condemned the guilty. The new administration writes God's law on the heart, gives the Holy Spirit, forgives the repentant, and gives the power to obey. The contrast is not bad commandments versus no commandments. It is external law that condemns versus internal law empowered by the Spirit.

Even Paul himself says:

Do we then make the law of none effect through faith? God forbid: nay, we establish the law.” Romans 3:31

So when Paul says that the law engraved on stone was a ministry of death, he is describing its role in condemning sinners. He is not saying that the Ten Commandments no longer exist or that Christians are free to ignore them. In fact, if that were his meaning, he would be directly contradicting Jesus, who said to keep the commandments, who said that loving Him means keeping His commandments, and who warned against teaching others to break even the least of God's commandments.

The law reveals sin; the Spirit gives power to obey God from the heart. Therefore, using 2 Corinthians 3 to abolish the Ten Commandments is taking Paul's words out of context and placing them in direct opposition to the plain teaching of Christ.

Sorry im a slow writer and cannot answer everyone, I go with the most urgent matters. but i do read your al of your posts.

Gideon yes spiritual matters are understood spiritually how could it be different. This leads to a question: why some people know the commandments Jesus taught are valid and need to be kept and will not pass away as he said and others say they are no longer required?

As for bible college, depending on where you go the bias will change, to me its not necessary we can through the Holy Spirit understand scripture, but one must do so with an open heart.

You speak of Adam what was his fault? he disobeyed, that was his fault he knew he should not have eaten the fruit of that tree but he did not believe God, he was deceived by satan who deceived Eve by mixed truths and lies together and added to what God said. on our part is is important to not be deceived but listen to God and do His will. our will is not important but doing God's will is. Jesus gave this example, he did not want to die on the cross and prayed God to take that away for him, at the end he did God's will because its all that matters, by doing so he saved us all, let us not deny his sacrifice but instead we should listen to him. All he endureth was for us, he did it for us. If we love Him we should do as he asks and keep his commandments.

If you walk up to an orthodox Jew and say to Him, "Keep Christ's commandments," what would he think?

I do not know, I am not an orthodox and don't know any. Please ask a direct question instead, it would be simpler.

You advise that Christians should observe the commandments of an orthodox Jew but can't relate to him?

OK, I read it, but as I dislike long posts I will address the above and one other point.
The reason the ten commandments are the letter that kills and is the ministry of death and condemnation is, because you will always stand guilty before the letter of: Thou shalt NOT. Anyone who does not know that, does not understand what obeying those commands entails.
Absolutely, what was written in the moral law is now in the hearts and minds of believers, that's the covenant, as is:
Their sins and lawless deeds I will remember no more.
So, in my mind I instinctively know God does not want me to steal, commit adultery, murder, take His name in vain, lie, covet. A born again christian should not have to read of law written in ink to instinctively know those things. For you must know in your mind what has been placed in your mind. Which makes the words ''ten commandments'' redundant under the new covenant. That phrase is for an external written down law
And, because what was written in the law is now in believers hearts, it means in their hearts they want to see it reflected in their lives.
What was written in the moral law remains, it is in the believers most inward parts, the penalty for transgression got removed. Perfect

What about the "judge not..." commandments. What if they are missing in your heart?

You err Mem, I never said to obey the 613 or whatever the orthodox Jews follow, never said such a thing on the contrary.

Jesus said to keep his commandments, he enumerated the ten commandments to the rich young man ans spoke of them often ena explained hoe to properly keep them, from the heart. I just wanted to point this out what you do with the information is of your choosing to Obey the Lord or not.

I do understand what you say, it is why Jesus made it so simple when he said;

Matthew 22:36-40;
36 Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 And he said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the great and first commandment.
39 And a second like unto it is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
40 On these two commandments the whole law hangeth, and the prophets.
(ASV)

But First one must believe to receive the Holy spirit and from there as you say you know them , and follow them from the heart but they serve as a guideline to help us to remember what not to do.

This is how to grow in holiness.

The believer is called to look away from themselves and to Christ. While you are doing this, you cannot be seeking to wilfully follow after the flesh, it is one or the other. Whilst you are looking to Christ, and trusting him to bring you to live an evermore holy life, via the sanctification of the Spirit, you will transgress the letter of the law for that letter kills(2Cor3:6) But, as long as we are looking to Christ, we will grow in holiness.

The more we look to Christ, and rely on the Spirit, the more the fruits of the Spirit grow in our lives(Gal5:22) Against that fruit there is no law(verse23) For that fruit is the embodiment of how God wants you to live your life.

For it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve God by his Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh Phil3:3

Putting your confidence in self, rather than God, will not lead to holy living.
