Do you think that the word of God magically goes into the mind or do we need to spend time reading and studying it.

By reading the 10 commandments you can clearly see what God defines as sin.

Don't presume that the right understanding of God's word will be written on your heart, when you neglect to study the truth set before you.
(Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.) Rom2:14&15

Old covenant: External written down law
New covenant, internal law. God Himself places in your heart and mind applicable law.
The covenant does NOT state you put the law in your heart and mind by firstly reading of law written in ink:

This is the covenant I will make with them
after that time, says the Lord.
I will(I will) put my laws in their hearts,
and I will(I will) write them on their minds.”

“Their sins and lawless acts
I will remember no more.

You are in denial. You, alongside everyone else would accept someone as a christian if they were not sinless/they committed sin
But I'm sure you would not accept someone as a christian if they lived a wanton lifestyle of sin.
So some who commit sin, because they are not perfect in their flesh you accept as christians, others who sin you would not accept as christians
I see it very differently.

We are all sinners
We are all wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked.
We are all worthy of eternal death.

But we have a saviour. Jesus came to save us from sin. Praise God.

If I walk in the Spirit and surrender all to Jesus continously then praise God. But if I sin by stealing from my neighbor. It is no different from someone that is a thef habitually.

If a Christian sins it is no different to a non Christian sinning.
If a church going nice person sinned it would be no different to an evil person sinning.

Sin is sin.
The result is the same for all.

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death;

Same wages for all.

We all need the same salvation.

It is not my job to judge who is saved or lost. I can not read the hearts of people.

God's judgment of Sin is according to God's judgment.

So you would only accept someone as a christian if they were sinless in their flesh, they perfetly without slip obeyed the letter of all applicable law?
Really?

Do you claim to at all times without slip follow after the Holy Spirit, you never once deviate to follow after the flesh?

Magically Or do you mean Miraculously?

Semantics?

The Decalogue does not account for a lot of sins mentioned in the Book of the Law and Prophets. Like not reading our Bibles, Not loving our neighbor or enemy, not laying with animals, homosexuality, men not dressing like women and so forth.

Not one of those sins would be known if it were not for God's Spirit through what the Law and Prophet revealed and in our conscience.

But the Standard is the Law and Prophets not just the Commandments on Stone. And definitely not just our conscience through what we perceive to be His Spirit.

It is no longer an external written down law, but one written in the mind and placed on the heart of a believer. You must know in your mind what is in your mind. So, every believer should instinctively know God does not want them to steal, commit adultery, murder, take His name in vain, covet, lie about others. Therefore, the words ''ten commandments'' should be redundant under the new covenant.
And as what was written in applicable law is now in the hearts of believers, it means in their hearts they desire to live as God wants them to live
The words ten commandments were for the old covenant, people under an external law, not for those with an internal law. ... The New covenant does NOT state you put the law in your heart and mind by firstly reading of law written in ink:
No it does not.
But even in Paul's time the mystery of iniquity had already begun and as in the Garden sin has raised it's ugly head within God's people.

So what is the standard? 2000 more years of stumbling and making our own way and saying it is of Him even when it is contrary to the standard in which God had put forth?

Ultimately According to your theology we Throw the Bible out, Old and New Testament. For the New is yet another Letter. And we are not to be be a people ministering through the Letter but through the Spirit.

Now What is our standard. Sinful man's opinion?

Or that which God had placed as our standard to which you say is of no consequence?

If the Law, His Word through His Spirit is in our hearts and the the Book of the Law and prophets say we are people the reads the Law and prophets and teaches it to our children and we don't is that not a start in the process of greiving God;s Spirit away?

What will the end be?

The ideal is that we be a people led by God through His Spirit through Christ, for He has put His Law, His Word in our hearts and mouths that we do and say as He is.

We are or are to be a new creature begotten of God. All the old man has passed away that body of sin be destroyed. All things have passed away and have become new and of God through His Spirit written and engraved in our hearts. Not that our suffiency is in and of ourselves, but that of God. He in us, us in Him that the world might believe. For it is He that works in us both to wil and do His good pleasure. But a little leaven has leavened the whole and we are still in the Book; a people of and ministering through the Letter and tables of stone and not of the heart through His Spirit.

The fact is we have all sinned..
But praise God for the promise of salvation.

Salvation from sin.

There isn't 2 types of sin but there are 2 ways of being saved from sin.

Both are a gift from Jesus.
Both are acquired by faith

First is Justification
Second is sanctification.

The sins of the past are forgiven and forgotten when we confess and repent.

But repentance leads to sanctification and not doing those sins any more.
What was once a bad habit can be overcome. Praise God.

We can aim higher and higher by looking at Jesus the perfect example. And Jesus delights in giving us the victory.
yes friend, Sanctification is the part i am working on, quitting this world and making the words of God and Jesus my new Home but as Jesus said it is not an easy road, but we have to keep following it.

Please quote. Which verse,?

2Co 3:6-7
6 .....for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. 7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, ....

it is a misunderstanding of the law.

Paul explains it in detail in Roms 7.

Rom 7:9-11
9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. 10 And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death. 11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.

was it the commandments or sin that causes death?

Rom 7:12-14
12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. 13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. 14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

it is not the law that kills but it is the law that causes sin to be revealed and sin kills.

can you see the link.

So are you saying that the solution to the problem is to remove the law. ???

Rom 7:7-8
7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. 8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.

Are you saying that removing the law that identities the sin is God's solution to free us from death?
so many misunderstand what Paul meant, me meant the LAW of Moses and not the ten. its all clear to me. they don't understand why God gave the commandments and why they free us from sin and set us free.

they don't understand forget or don't want to know that Jesus told us to keep them to have eternal life. they fight so hard about the commandments yet God / Jesus told us to keep them all the right way and not like the pharisee did

Jesus explained the wrong way to keep them and gave us a full example in Matthew 23. people think we need to follow the commandments like the pharisee did, its so much simpler

Paul is speaking of the law of Moses that the jews many do not apply to us such ad the levitical laws, feasts....sahhath(s) there were about 12 extra sabbaths............

Paul is Not central to the gospel Jesus is!! he did it all and said what we must to enter heaven : to keep the his commandments.

You need to stop presuming things.
Making claims that are not true.

Your fully convinced in your thinking but that does not make it correct.

People that delight in obedience, and believe in obeying the 10 commandments are not living under the old covenant unless they are trying to save themselves by their own human efforts.

Keeping the 10 commandments does not automaticly quality as legalism. Or old covenant living.

Legalism by definition is not obedience. But obedience done in order to save yourself. It is motivated by gaining security in your own works.

Faith leads to obedience, grace motivates us to obey.
I obey (not to earn salvation) but because of the salvation that has been gifted to me.
"For through the law I died to the law so that I might live to God." Galatians 2:19. What laws apply to dead people?

But now, having died to what bound us, we have been released from the law, so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code." Romans 7:6.

"All who rely on works of the law are under a curse. For it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” Now it is clear that no one is justified before God by the law, because, “The righteous will live by faith.” The law, however, is not based on faith; on the contrary, “The man who does these things will live by them.” Galatians 3: 1-12

When you follow the law, you are not living by faith. That means that you are not pleasing God.

"Before this faith came, we were held in custody under the law, locked up until faith should be revealed. So the law became our guardian to lead us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. Now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian." Galatians 3:23-25

The law does not save us and neither does it make us righteous. "Whoever keeps the whole law, but stumbles at just one point, is guilty of breaking all of it." James 2:10

"But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law." Galatians 5:18

"For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God." Romans 8:14

That's not what he said and you know it... When you change someone's argument to make it look worse, you show that you no longer believe in what you're saying and/or you've realised they're may be right in what they're saying
This is what I believe:

"For through the law I died to the law so that I might live to God." Galatians 2:19. What laws apply to dead people?

No you don't throw the bible out, you do not throw the new covenant out. In it, God states HE WILL; write the law in believers minds and HE WILL place it in their hearts

Paul's epistles were written to specific churches and believers, the context is important, ignoring it will cause misinterpretation as we see here. if you do not understand paul's words that he used for specific churches you will err, then its best not to use his verses instead of messing up their meaning like so many do today.

Jesus is the key, all of Paul's epistle have for origin the words of Christ and cannot deviate from what Jesus said I hope this truth becomes clear.

Paul is speaking of the law of Moses that the jews many do not apply to us such ad the levitical laws, feasts....sahhath(s) there were about 12 extra sabbaths............
Paul is speaking of gentiles, not Jews! What do you think, the legalistic levitical laws are written in gentiles hearts but the moral law is left out?

The people who are most conscious of sin are those who have an internal law. An external law will never convict of sin to the same degree.
No you don't throw the bible out, you do not throw the new covenant out. In it, God states HE WILL; write the law in believers minds and HE WILL place it in their hearts
The New Covenant is not the NT. And you so missed the point of the post to you.

The people who are most conscious of sin are those who have an internal law. An external law will never convict of sin to the same degree.
No you don't throw the bible out, you do not throw the new covenant out. In it, God states HE WILL; write the law in believers minds and HE WILL place it in their hearts
More than that, the people following Christ's examples and teachings, abiding in him cannot even sin if they would try, sin is no longer part of their lives nor do they even think of it, but we are still exposed to it. Around us daily, sin abounds and is exploding exponentially in this end times I see this clearly. We are now absolutely irrevocably in what the Bible calls Jacob's trouble. I am certain of it.

Repent, the Kingdom of Haven is at hand!

Yes Jesus preached it at the very beginning of His Ministry, it was his mission to tell us and to give his life for us, He showed us the way.

The New Covenant is not the NT.
This is the new covenant:
The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says:

16 “This is the covenant I will make with them
after that time, says the Lord.
I will put my laws in their hearts,
and I will write them on their minds.”

17 Then he adds:

“Their sins and lawless acts
I will remember no more.”
And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary. Heb10:15-18

fill your lamps with oil, the door is about to be Shut and many wont be able to go through it.

More than that, the people following Christ's examples and teachings, abiding in him cannot even sin if they would try, sin is no longer part of their lives nor do they even think of it,
If we claim to be without sin we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us 1John1:8

You are testifying to perfectly obeying the letter of all applicable law, faultlessly
No one would do that, who understood what that entailed
