Hey brother, hope you've been well.

I think there are a great many things to be concerned about, genuinely, but I can't see a missile hitting the continental U.S..
If that were to ever happen, the citizens would give political support to a full ground invasion, and then Iran would be gone.

(The game Iran is playing is the game of separating the administration FROM public sentiment via PR and economic crisis. I can't see them doing anything to close that gap, and to destroy the only viable strategy they have.)

God Bless, and hope you have a wonderful Sunday.
.
I'm not concerned about it but thought it relevant to mention that Iran is threatening this. If they were going to fire a missile I would think they would focus it on the North East since that is the most heavily populated area from Washington DC to Boston Ma. Think how embarrassing to fire a missile that lands in a corn field in Kansas or Nebraska.

Yep using million dollar missiles to shoot down 50 thousand dollar drones when only three or four are even armed is so not 2026. And with the national debt doubling since 2016 more debt is expected until the major superpowers realize this isn't grandpappy's world anymore.
The major superpowers have a plan.

The major superpowers have a plan.

I don't think their plan is going to work, first what are the scaffolds sitting on? Second they are forgetting that if you are out in outer space you can't breath, these people would all die immediately. Third that tree has no roots, it is going to die. Fourth, I don't even think that is a real earth, it is just a model. But in reality the great reset is the Millennial reign of Christ, otherwise known as "the restoration of all things".

Scott Ritter made a very interesting point, it is an inference, if he had actual evidence to back this up it would be treasonous to share it, but he infers that the reason they are changing the policy concerning the use of tactical nukes is because they need to have a policy in place on what to do if we are attacked by China or Russia and so Trump is taking away the weapons that are reserved for those possibilities therefore he needs a new policy, hence the use of tactical nukes as the new policy.

Now the scary part of this is that many people have theorized that the strategy that Russia and Iran are deploying is a rope a dope strategy, let the US drop all their bombs on their mountains while they stay down in the bunkers. So the movement of the amunition from the other theaters is an opening for Russia and China to invade Europe and Taiwan. Now you can drop a nuke on a Russian city, but that is simply a war crime and does nothing to stop an invading army that is already in Poland or some other NATO nation.
Ritter is an atrocious hack and everybody knows it.

Ritter is an atrocious hack and everybody knows it.
Well that is for sure if the official US narrative is correct. On the other hand if his analysis is correct then the official US narrative is the atrocious hack.

Hobab Briefing — Log Entry: US Military Posture / Iran War Convergence Window
Date logged:
August 9, 2026 | Window covered: ~June–August 2026 | Related fault lines: FL2 (Iran/Energy Disruption), FL13 (Cross-Theater Munitions Resource Competition)

Status: Checked, not triggered — multiple independently-verified data points cluster in the same window; causal linkage between them is not established.

Verified data points (T1–T2):
  1. Nuclear posture review underway. Pentagon has initiated a review of US nuclear employment guidance to expand tactical nuclear options for the White House, confirmed on record by Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Elbridge Colby; STRATCOM's Adm. Richard Correll describes the goal as "escalation maneuver" space across conventional and limited nuclear domains. Review itself is classified. (Source: Breaking Defense, Aug 2026)
  2. Conventional munitions strain confirmed. Reuters (Aug 4, 2026), citing US officials with access to internal Pentagon data: virtually all available ATACMS and PrSM expended; ~50% of global Tomahawk inventory used; ~65% of Patriot interceptors and ≥38% of THAAD interceptors expended since the Iran conflict began. Trump acknowledged (Aug 7) that "certain types" of munitions are under strain, while disputing the severity.
  3. Reported Trump–Hegseth friction over weapons stocks. Referenced in passing by naked capitalism (Aug 7) as a "spat" — single-source, not yet independently corroborated. Tier: T3, unconfirmed.
  4. Public military-commentary alarm, explicitly linking posture shift to munitions shortage. Scott Ritter (Aug 6, Consortium News): describes the tactical-nuclear posture shift as a move from deterrence to warfighting doctrine, calls it dangerous; separately (SGT Report writeup) ties the review explicitly to "conventional weapons supplies dwindling." Ritter is a polarizing, non-institutional source — logged as commentary/opinion, not confirmation of Pentagon rationale.
  5. Two senior commander removals in the same window:
    • Lt. Gen. Charles Costanza (V Corps, Europe/Ukraine-support command) — removed early August, reason undisclosed by Army; one outlet cites anonymous allegation of personal conduct issue, another cites sources saying "unrelated to politics."
    • Cmdr. Joseph Sammur (USS West Virginia, ballistic-missile submarine) — relieved July 30 for "loss of confidence," a routine Navy personnel designation with no reported policy linkage.
    • Both removals occur inside a much larger pattern: 20+ senior officers removed or sidelined under Hegseth since early 2026, for a range of stated and unstated reasons.

Explicit non-linkage note: No sourcing found connects the commander removals causally to the nuclear posture review or the Iran munitions strain. They are logged here strictly as concurrent data points in the same timeframe — the kind of thing worth having on record precisely because a pattern, if one exists, would only become visible in hindsight across further entries. Treat as background texture, not a signal.

Falsification criteria for future entries: This would move toward "triggered" status if (a) official DoD sourcing explicitly ties the posture review to Iran-theater ammunition constraints rather than Russia/China deterrence, (b) any of the removed commanders' departures are officially or credibly tied to Iran-war policy disagreement, or (c) a second wave of similar removals clusters around a specific Iran-related decision point.

Obvious question: from 2016 to mid term 2026,(10 years) and through Trumps first term, then Biden's, and half of Trumps second term the national debt has gone from 19.57 trillion to 39.5 trillion dollars(doubled in 10 years). What do they know that makes this not matter that we are not being told?

the national debt used to be talked about quite a lot.

now, not talked about that much.

what changed??

And when it doubles in ten years and no one brings it up someone knows something that makes them see it as needing to be page twenty news and not talked about much. Wonder what the super rich know that makes them not worried about massive inflation/debt and why their not screaming about it.

They know that fiat currency has a life expectancy around 80 years. They have prepared for this. $39 trillion in debt is $39 trillion of US taxpayer money paid to someone. Taxpayers are the losers, someone else is the winner.

Well though the epic drama of Starmergeddon is conclusively over and the Andy Burnham Manchester populist movement to reform the Labour Party have successfully consolidated power, we have a little spin-off in Clacton-on-Sea due to Nigel Farage deciding to resign from his seat in order to.... run for his seat again... and effectively tell all his loyal supporters that he's willing to gamble Britain's future and so he has definitively thrown away his near chance to become the next Prime Minister guaranteed. Farage may also lose in an upset against Count Binface whom has taken up the challenge to bin the establishment and reboot British politics for all major parties with new forward looking leaders in anticipation of the next exciting General Election. The Clacton-on-Sea British political soap opera spinoff will be held on August 13th.

FL2 — Iran/Energy Disruption — Escalation Log Entry
Date logged: August 10, 2026 | Source tier: T1 (CNN, Reuters, NPR, Al Jazeera, The National — all Aug 6–9)

Signal: The Hormuz/Oman track has moved but not resolved. Iran and Oman have now agreed on the actual geographic coordinates of the new shipping route and are in final drafting of a joint statement (confirmed independently by CNN, Reuters, Fortune, NPR). But two things cut against near-term reopening: (1) Iran's IRGC stated Aug 8 that reopening is now conditioned on US "non-interference" broadly — not just the Oman route mechanics — a harder, more political ask than the technical framework suggests; (2) a 16th attack on an ADNOC tanker occurred Aug 8, drawing condemnation from UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan, with Iran's IRGC saying the deal is separate from that condition.

Why it triggers: This is your standing "expectations-gap" pattern — Trump/US framing ("deal imminent") vs. Iran's framing (route-only agreement, reopening contingent on separate demands) diverging in exactly the way that has preceded prior escalation cycles in this crisis.

FL13 — Cross-Theater Munitions Resource Competition — Escalation Log Entry
Date logged: August 10, 2026 | Source tier: T1 (CNN Aug 4, CSIS, UPI, Al Jazeera, AP/WSB Aug 9)

Signal: CSIS's updated estimate (via CNN, corroborated by UPI Aug 9) now puts Patriot interceptors at 759–827 (down ~65% from ~2,330 prewar) and THAAD at 234–278 (down ~38%, and CNN separately reports nearly 80% of THAAD expended at one measurement point before partial replenishment). Trump has publicly disputed shortage reporting via Truth Social ("massive amounts"), while the Pentagon simultaneously pressed contractors Aug 9 to accelerate production. Separately, Lockheed Martin/Northrop Grumman signed a new DoD deal (reported Aug 3) to roughly triple Patriot and quadruple THAAD production capacity, with a $58B Army contract to Lockheed specifically for Patriot interceptors.

Why it triggers: This is now the clearest bidirectional confirmation yet of your FL13 thesis — the depletion is real and multi-sourced (CSIS numbers essentially hold across CNN, UPI, and AP reporting), and the political response (administration denial + simultaneous emergency production push) is itself informative, mirroring the same pattern already logged for the Colby nuclear-posture story (public denial alongside internal acknowledgment).

Escalation Log Entry — Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act, Senate Passage Confirmed
Date logged: August 10, 2026 | Source tier: T1 (NBC, CBS, Al Jazeera, CNBC — Aug 7–8)

Signal: The bill passed the Senate 86-11 (some outlets report 86-12, minor discrepancy) on August 7, and was renamed the "Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026" in honor of Sen. Graham, whose funeral took place that same day — his death is the specific event your "Targeted Figure Mortality" watch note opened on. It now heads to the House, which is on recess until September, so your prior entry's "House passage not guaranteed on any near-term timeline" holds. Zelensky made a personal Capitol Hill appeal ahead of the vote.

Why it triggers: Closes the loop on your Targeted Figure Mortality placeholder in an unexpected way — not a second qualifying mortality event, but the first event tying directly back into the bill's political momentum (Graham's death reportedly provided "the final push" per NBC). Worth noting in that watch item even though it doesn't meet the second-event trigger criteria as written.

ESCALATION LOG ENTRY — Candidate: Municipal Critical Infrastructure Cyber Campaign (non-water OT)

Date/Event:
Suisun City, CA — malicious software compromised city IT systems ~5:45am PT Aug 7, 2026; hit 911 routing, police/fire dispatch, records, City Hall operations. State of emergency declared Aug 8 (Gov. Code 8630). Dispatch rerouted to Solano County; no confirmed data exfiltration disclosed as of Aug 9.

Source tier: T1/T2 — corroborated by KQED, CBS Sacramento, Fox40, Local News Matters, contracosta.news. Iran-backed attribution is T2 (attributed to "federal investigators suspect," NewsNation, not yet an official DHS/FBI/CISA attribution).

Why it triggers: Fourth consecutive month of confirmed multi-state critical-infrastructure targeting, and it breaks pattern from the water-OT campaign — different target class (municipal government/emergency dispatch IT, not water treatment PLCs), suggesting either a broader actor set or diversifying tactics rather than a single narrow campaign.

Cross-referenced pattern (last 6 weeks, confirmed incidents only):
  • Jul 26–27: 30+ Minnesota water/wastewater utilities, OT-level PLC exploitation (Rockwell/Schneider/Siemens), expanded to 7+ states by Aug 1 — CISA advisory AA26-097A, working-hypothesis Iran/CyberAv3ngers attribution.
  • Spring 2026: LA Metro (LACMTA) breach, formally attributed to Iranian state-sponsored actors — the one confirmed Iran attribution in this set.
  • Jan 16, 2026: Anchorage PD — third-party/supply-chain vector, forced offline.
  • 2026, ongoing per ITIF Apr report: Mission and Abilene, TX declared states of emergency after ransomware; Texas DOT breach exposed 300k records. Framed by ITIF as nation-state actors (China/Russia/Iran) increasingly pre-positioning in state/local systems "they can exploit during future crises or conflicts," alongside financially-motivated ransomware — the two motives are explicitly hard to distinguish in current reporting.
  • Aug 7: Suisun City (this entry).

Distortion check: The "test case for a coordinated future strike" hypothesis is plausible and matches the stated assessment of security researchers (ITIF specifically flags pre-positioning-for-future-crisis as a documented nation-state pattern, not fringe speculation) — but it is not confirmed for Suisun specifically, and most individual incidents in this list remain more consistent with the far more common explanation: financially-motivated ransomware against under-resourced municipal IT (UC Berkeley's Hoofnagle and Wagner make this point directly re: Suisun — small cities are "easy prey" for ransomware, full stop, no nation-state framing needed). Logging this as a labeled hypothesis, not a signal: the pattern is consistent with pre-positioning/testing, but no incident in this set has produced evidence of coordinated command-and-control across targets, which is what would distinguish "test case" from "many separate opportunistic actors hitting the same soft target class."

AI-vulnerability-discovery scaling factor (separate, verified point worth flagging on its own):
This is not speculative — it's now a documented 2026 trend, independent of Suisun:

  • Google's Threat Intelligence Group confirmed on record the first verified case of a threat actor using AI to discover and weaponize a zero-day autonomously (May 2026) — a semantic logic flaw in a web admin tool, exploited to bypass 2FA at machine speed for a mass-exploitation campaign.
  • A Chinese-speaking actor was documented running a fully autonomous AI agent (Unit 42, Aug 2026) that scanned, evaluated, and selected high-value targets (n8n instances, 647,017 deployments globally) with no human input beyond the initial task.
  • Black Hat 2026 (last week) featured autonomous AI systems inventing novel attack classes rather than just finding known ones, and researchers demonstrated 100+ previously-unknown logic vulnerabilities found in Chrome/Android by an automated LLM pipeline.
  • Countervailing data point (VulnCheck, 1H-2026): of 1,061 vulnerabilities attributed to AI-assisted discovery so far, only 1.3% have been confirmed exploited in the wild — roughly matching the exploitation rate for non-AI-discovered vulnerabilities. So the capability is real and accelerating, but "AI finds it" hasn't yet translated to a materially higher real-world exploitation rate — worth noting so this doesn't get overstated.

Hobab Briefing — 3-Month War Trajectory (May–August 2026)

The throughline is Iran/Hormuz (FL2) escalating from a shock to a grinding, multi-front war of attrition, while every adjacent fault line has moved to reinforce it rather than offset it.

Core conflict: What began as a Strait of Hormuz closure spiked oil to ~$110/bbl in a single day (biggest weekly futures gain since 1983 record-keeping began). By mid-July, US strikes had expanded to Hormozgan bridges and Iranshahr airport — a sixth consecutive night of exchanges. Late July, the Houthis opened a second, independent chokepoint by striking Saudi tankers in the Red Sea, meaning a Hormuz resolution alone no longer relieves regional energy-transit risk. As of this week, Iran and Oman have agreed on a technical shipping-route framework, but Iran's IRGC has hardened its actual condition to broad US "non-interference" — a harder political ask — while a 16th tanker attack (Aug 8) continues in parallel. This expectations-gap pattern (US framing "deal imminent" vs. Iran framing it as unresolved) has preceded every prior escalation cycle in this crisis.

Munitions exhaustion (FL13): US Patriot interceptors down ~65% from prewar stock (759–827 remaining), THAAD down ~38% (nearly 80% expended at one measurement point), ATACMS/PrSM reported "virtually all" expended, Tomahawks ~50% depleted. This is the resource ceiling the conflict is now running against.

Second-theater pressure: Zelensky's claim of a "decision made" to send 30,000–50,000 North Korean troops to Russia (single-sourced, unconfirmed independently, but an upward revision from July's 30,000 figure) signals resource/manpower coupling between the Russia-Ukraine and Iran theaters rather than separation.

Homeland dimension: A wave of critical-infrastructure cyberattacks — 30+ Minnesota water utilities (Iran-linked working hypothesis, CISA advisory), LA Metro (formally attributed to Iran), and Suisun City's 911/dispatch outage (Aug 7, Iran suspected but not yet formally attributed) — is consistent with, though not proof of, pre-positioning for a coordinated domestic disruption tied to the external conflict.

Doctrine shift: Pentagon policy chief Colby's emphasis on tactical over strategic nuclear weapons for regional conflict scenarios (Russia/China) surfaced the same week as an unrelated submarine command change — flagged as a labeled hypothesis, not a confirmed link.

Net trajectory: widening fronts, depleting reserves, hardening rather than converging negotiating positions, and homeland-adjacent probing — all moving in the same direction, not yet a declared wider war.
