It has great value as all scripture does because it witnesses and foretells of Jesus Christ and his kingdom like the prophets do.

“And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭28:23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:39‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭24:44‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The law of Moses has a prophetic element pertaining to Jesus christ like a witness

“But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested,

being witnessed by the law and the prophets;”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭3:21‬ ‭

But his righteousness , is found in the gospel

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭1:16-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

However the law is not of faith and cannot justify , redeem , save a soul or make sinners righteous

“But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:11-12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I really would find it much easier to follow your posts if you would quit playing with font sizes, bold letters and underlining. These things do have a use, but you are far too eager to use them to my mind. I doubt that I have used any of them more than once since I joined this group, yet you use each of them multiple times in a single post.

Yeah I suppose people use the tools here differently I’m sort of alright with how anyone else wishes to use them even if they choose only to muse them once

Bit what I was saying was that the righteousness is found in the gospel

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭1:16-17‬ ‭

Whereas the law

“For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:10-12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

So the law had its own form of self righteousness that doesn’t compare to his

“concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. ( Paul claims he was blameless according to the righteousness of the law ) But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. and be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law,

but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3:6-7, 9‬ ‭

the righteousness of the law was only until Christ came forth with his righteousness in the gospel

“For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God wrote the law and gave it to Moses . Therefore it’s as righteous as God .
The problem is man’s weakness in keeping the righteous law . The old system of priest and sacrifice of animals could not do a complete work in restoration of the peoples sins that’s why it was done repeatedly. Jesus sacrifice was once for all and complete. He restores people like the law could not because of the weakness of the flesh and animal sacrifices. It’s by faith in the work of Christ not the works of the law that no man kept perfectly, except Jesus . Therefore law is Gods standard of righteousness. Jesus did the law perfectly at least . That’s one reason why God said my beloved Son in whom I’m well pleased. Thank God for Jesus doing what we can not do perfectly , on our behalf . A few thoughts. So much more could be said . But never call the law unrighteous God wrote it .

Did someone call the law unrighteous? I doubt it. Soyeong may have said or implied that someone did so, but without evidence. Wait for the evidence.

Christ is the one who fulfilled the law on behalf of those that broke the law . Christ does not abolish the law , but puts away the sins against the righteous law of God . Jesus said heaven and earth will pass away before one jot of the law . But Jesus put away sins of the whole world . Praise God for that !

things like this written in Deuteronomy 18

For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭3:20-24, 26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

That’s something Jesus fulfilled Jesus never killed anyone …… this doesn’t fulfill anything however prophecy gets fulfilled .

Its hard to really argue though one can look at what Moses taught then what Jesus taught and it’s contrary to anyone willing to acknowledge it

That’s why Jesus spent a lot of time telling them what Moses said and then telling them “ but I tell you this other thing that’s not the same “

If you guys were willing to discuss what the scriptures are saying maybe we could fine some agreement
for instance what do you make of what Paul’s explaining here ?

“For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: ( what do you make of this statement ?) but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

…Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one. ( what do you make of this statement by the apostle ?)

Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. ( the gospel )

But before faith came, we were kept under the law, ( some of you want to go back ) shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:10-12, 19-25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Lol yeah hopefully I understand, but more importantly hopefully we can learn from the things Jesus and the apostles taught believers in the Bible about subjects like this .

for instance

“For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:10-12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law,

but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭2:16-19, 21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Can we talk about what the apostle is teaching in the Bible ? Or this?

Let me try another more modern version see if that rings a bell

“Why, then, was the law given at all? It was added because of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise referred had come.

The law was given through angels and entrusted to a mediator. A mediator, ( Moses )
however, implies more than one party; but God is one.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:19-20‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Again pauls pointing to this factor

“Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him. But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭23:20-22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

when your reading the law that’s what seperates it from the gospel it’s not Jesus disposition it’s that unforgiving angel shaping the law so again

“And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day. And the LORD said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp. And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the LORD commanded Moses.”
‭‭Numbers‬ ‭15:32, 35-36‬ ‭KJV‬‬

most any Christian realizes this is contrary to the spirit in the gospel of allowing repentance and remitting the persons sin . Forgiving and Restoring them. Rather than judging and executing them.

The reason it’s contrary is because the le came through the angel who’s disposition is clearly that “he would not pardon thier transgressions “

but the promise of Christ and the gospel is again contrary in that his disposition is the opposite he will pardon

“I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭43:25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s impossible to hold every transgression against the sinner and execute them by command ….and also forgive the sinner and never judge or condemn or certainly execute another sinner like Moses commanded the isralite tribes as they entered thier land of inheritance no one received the holt spirit judt a bunch of stuff necked rebellious sinners being led by an unforgiving angel mediating everything to Moses from God ….these folks

“knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, ( do not kill ) for whoremongers, ( do not commit fornicwtion and adultery ) for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, ( thou shall not lie ) for perjured persons, ( thou shall not bear false witness ) and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭1:9-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This is for an unspiritual carnal person trying to act righteous in a camp before God where people are slaughtered by his angel multiple times for things like complaining and arguing with Moses not honoring or respecting what he did ect ect the whole law has the same disposition look at what Moses commanded Israel here in the law

She was newly married and it’s found that she had pre marital sex ….

“But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel: then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭22:20-

Can you imagine a Christianity where this is commanded to the believers or the “ righteous “?

Me folks explain how well
It’s just some parts of Moses law we still obey … but in the law it says of anyone removes from or adds any words to Moses law then they will suffer all the curses in it . And the New Testament says if you trust in the law then you have to obey everything Moses wrote to n the book of Israel’s law

“And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭34:27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Christian’s are those who come to god by Jesus and the gospel not Moses and the law that was the old covenant

“But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭3:21-22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster
to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:23-25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Do you notice these are things in scripture being said and it’s not just my own explainations ?

And so you’re saying somehow this was about Jesus and he came and fulfilled it ? And Israel didn’t fulfill it throughout the ot ?

“And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; ( Moses died and fulfilled this ) and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.”( the ot is this story being fulfilled repetetivly )
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭31:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

everything isn’t about Jesus and he wasn’t who fulfilled everything Moses wrote , he came to fulfill everything the law and prophets and psalms said about him .

There’s a lot about Jesus in the law but it’s fulfilled in the gospel

No matter how you slice it, righteousness can't be attained through the law. You're fighting a losing battle.
Our righteousness- doing what is right is by faith, but that does not mean we can be disobedient to the law of God. That is doing what is unrighteousness. The faith part is how we are righteousness the obedience part proves our faith is genuine.

The Sabbath is a law of God and according to God Himself, keeping it is what is doing justice and righteousness

Isa 56:1 Thus says the Lord:
“Keep justice, and do righteousness,
For My salvation is about to come,
And My righteousness to be revealed.
2 Blessed is the man who does this,
And the son of man who lays hold on it;
Who keeps from defiling the Sabbath,
And keeps his hand from doing any evil.”

1. Calling “man” not just Jews
2. To do justice
3. To do righteousness
4. Keeps the Sabbath
5. Avoids evil (profaning the Sabbath Neh13:17)

So this is faith working in action, true faith will always lead to doing what God deems (not us) as righteousness (right doing) the faith part is what saves, the action proves if our faith is genuine.

God’s righteousness is everlasting Psa 119:142 meaning its forever and all of God’s commandments are righteous Psa119:172 How could they not be- God Himself wrote the Ten Commandments. It’s the Testimony of God Exo31:18 the works of God Exo32:16

Why justice and righteousness is the foundation of His throne Psa89:14

Do not let anyone deceive us:

1 John 3:7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.

"For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain." Galatians 2:19-21

"Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ," Galatians 3:24
What law is Paul quoting in Gal 2. You missed that part of the context.
Does the Mosaic Law describe the way that the righteous live as it describes the life of Christ?
I think there is some confusion with the Law of God and law of Moses. God wrote the Ten Commandments Exo31:18 they are inside the ark of God Exo25:16 Moses wrote all the other laws that were besides the ark Deut31:24-26

So with that in mind we can see the same thing God said is doing justice and righteousness - keeping the Sabbath, in the life of Jesus Himself Luke4:16 and He not only came to die for our sins, but lived to be our example to follow. 1John2:6 Heb4:15 1 Peter 2:21-22
No, it doesn't. The law only tells half the story. The law says murder is sin; Christ said hate is the same as murder. The law says adultery is sin; Christ said lust is the same as adultery. Righteousness is not in the law; the righteousness of Christ goes above and beyond the law. Therefore, we are no longer under law, but under Christ.
Amen! Yes, Jesus came to magnify the Ten Commandments Isa 42:21 working from the inside and if the heart is changed the actions will reflect this and commandment for not murder our neighbor or committing adultery would be kept why He taught not to break or teach others to break the least of these commandments. Mat5:19-30
"For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 5:20
Yes, the Pharisees kept their man-made traditions over obedience to the commandments of God - Jesus quoting directly from the Ten Commandments. He said in doing that makes the word of God of no effect, it makes ones heart far from Him and our worship to Him is in vain and it leads those who teach and follow this teaching into a ditch. Mary-:3-14 Mark7:7-13 No wonder why He said Mat5:19 before Mat5:20 because it shows in doing so (breaking the least of these commandments) means our heart is not changed and if we do not repent, we may not be in God’s Kingdom.

When did Christ fulfill His Second Coming and we will be with Him forevermore and no more sin and no more tears, no more death. Not all prophecies have been fulfilled but I believe Jesus is coming soon.

The prophecy of his first coming was the context . But yes his second coming will happen just as is prophecied. I do believe all will be fulfilled in their appointed time . People seem so out of touch on this website , if you don’t write down every verse they get bent out of shape , that’s not being led by the Holy Spirit . I see people quote manly verses contradicting them selves , not interested in being a correction officer. They need to dump AI ? Any way yes Jesus has not come yet Every eye will see him! Come on people! Think a bit !

May I ask the verse you are referring to, most people use Mat5:17 but that wasn’t about the Cross- Jesus relates it to heaven and earth passing and its still here. :). If you meant another verse, if you wouldn’t mind posting it. Thanks.

It’s up to you, I always like to present what I am saying with Scriptures. Much like the Bereans so we can search the Scriptures to see if it is so. Acts 17:11

Yes I read the scripture for my self a long time now . With the Lords blessing. I’m not commissioned to do it for everyone especially those with unlearned questions and comments. They only gender strife.

Suit yourself. If asking one question to post Scripture to support your own statement and you consider this an “unlearned question” thats fine, but the Bible also says to give reason for your answers 1Peter 3:15 so I believe we should always back up what we are teaching when it comes to the word of God with Scripture. At any rate, be well.

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:10-12, 19-25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

when you come to Jesus and believe the gospel the law becomes what He taught in the gospel he sent to all humanity

This claim works as long as one believes that the tradition that has been passed down to us is correct. With study of 2nd Temple Judaism though some problems arise. At the time that Jesus lived there were multiple recognized prophesies from the Old Testament regarding the coming Messiah. Several of these, but by no means all, re preserved in the New Testament. But even those preserved in the NT are not consistent with each other, and at least two get amended or ignored by tradition.

Remember, the stated purpose of the gospels, "so that you may believe". Only Luke claims to present the truth, and he was relying on hearsay by his own admission, and the biblical standard for truth tells us that hearsay is not a valid source. It is thus possible that the prophesies that Jesus is recorded as having fulfilled are merely those prophesies that could be justified as having been fulfilled and the others recorded in scripture are clearly not prophesies by human definition. Remember, even Paul admits that he was not the ultimate author of his letters, and many other claimed authors are merely assigned by tradition, so we do not really know who they were or what their connection to God was. We accept much by faith, not fact.
