Have you ever thought about what you're thinking about?

This was a question asked to me this morning. I hadn't thought about it, but yes, actually, I do. How about you? When a thought comes to mind that goes against the Word of God, do you rebuke it right away, or do you entertain it?

James 4:7 tells us that if we resist the devil, he will flee. So, when you have those thoughts, rebuke it, submit your thoughts to the Word of God and the enemy will eventually stop whispering those thoughts into your ear.

Now, the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives in us. (Rom 8:11) This same Spirit reveals things to us, so we have the mind of Christ. (1 Cor 2:10 & 16) Therefore, ask God to show you, through His Spirit, when you have a thought that needs to come under submission, so you will continue to move on in Christ. :D

Phil 4:8 is a good verse to pray over yourself: Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—I will think about such things, in the name of Jesus! Amen

I hope this doesn't sound “preachy”. This was something that I was thinking about this morning and thought I would share it with you all. :)

Doesn't sound "preachy" to me. It's a very valid point. If one focuses on all the bad things, those things enlarge and engulf (mountains outta molehills) if we focus on the love of God, being thankful for His goodness and mercy, if we rememeber all the times He has intervened for our protection and knowing fullwell that He will never forsake His own, trusting He has a plan and a future, our thinking will create a positive mindset.

I strive to renew my mind with the Word and line up my thinking with His.

As a man thinks in his heart so is he. Proverbs, I think

Now wait a minute. I can't think fast enough to think what I am thinking about.

It reminds me of sitting in the barber chair as a kid with mirrors on both sides. You see yourself looking into a mirror-looking into a mirror-looking into a mirror-looking into a mirror-looking into a mirror-looking into a mirror to a vanishing point :p
