Have you ever thought about what you're thinking about?
This was a question asked to me the other day. I hadn't thought about it, but yes, actually, I do. How about you? When a thought comes to mind that goes against the Word of God, do you rebuke it right away, or do you entertain it?
James 4:7 tells us that if we resist the devil, he will flee. So, when you have those thoughts, rebuke it, submit your thoughts to the Word of God and the enemy will eventually stop whispering those thoughts into your ear.
Now, the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives in us. (Rom 8:11) This same Spirit reveals things to us, so we have the mind of Christ. (1 Cor 2:10 & 16) Therefore, ask God to show you, through His Spirit, when you have a thought that needs to come under submission, so you will continue to move on in Christ.
Phil 4:8 is a good verse to pray over yourself: Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—I will think about such things, in the name of Jesus! Amen
