I'm wondering EH if you even check anything before making claims as if they're facts. I have it backwards? South Korea's testing effort was HUGE?
I believe you regarded this worldmeters site as being reasonably accurate and trustworthy (I could be wrong, perhaps you don't).
If you check it you'll see that South Korea's level of testing is reported at 9,957 per million of population. Canada by contrast is reportedly somewhat higher, at 10,639.....
So calling S Korea's testing "huge" does not quite stand up to scrutiny unless you consider Canada's to be as well. And going back to Sweden, where about a week back they only first started to talk about possibly doing more tests on front line workers, not just those falling ill. In Sweden they're only testing 5,416 per million as per world meters.
So I don't actually have it backwards (if you trust worldmeter's reporting).....Sweden's fatlity rate is so high because of their lack of testing....as I mentioned, they're not identfying all those people with the sniffles who aren't falling sick or needing any care.

One thing though has occured to me. Its long been known that, due to genetic factors (among other things) that those of African descent are more prone to Diabetes. When it comes to Coronaivirus, I'm wondering if perhaps Asians are less prone to falling seriously ill from Covid-19. I have heard that, in Sweden, the number of Somalis dying of covid-19 is disproportionately high. Likewise in Lousiana its being reported that blacks are making up about 70% of the deaths, while only being about 30% of the state's population....there could be other factors as well, such as socio-economic reasons, but I also think its possible that the novel coronavirus may be more lethal with certain racial/genetic groups.
Time will tell.
