Yes, you have a point there secularhermit. I understand what you're saying. I was being facetious. :o

But you have to remember that this site is open to the entire world of people out there, some mature Christians, some babes in Christ, and some not Christians at all. The administrators here have enough work to do keeping this site running efficiently and cannot police all of the contentious quarrels and off-base scriptural interpretations.

We can do our part and report the worst cases to the administrators so the trouble makers and crazies can get banned.
We can perhaps rally together and vote who to ignore, too. Any other ideas would be appreciated. :)
Hi, Violet/everyone.

In case you haven't noticed, the very first thing that one sees when logging in to the "Bible Discussion Forum" is a "Sticky" FROM THE SITE ADMINISTRATOR which is entitled...

"Catholic Heresy (for the record)

...so apparently addressing 'heresy" is fair game here in the Administrator's sight.

I'm just sayin'...

Anyhow, the Bible speaks of both "heresy" and "heretics", so I personally see no justifiable reason whatsoever why some here consider such words to be taboo on a BIBLE Discussion Forum. The Bible also warns that those who teach heresies shall not inherit the kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21), so this is no light matter.

In just the last couple of weeks or so, I've been told thrice that I've committed the unpardonable sin of the blasphemy of the Holy Ghost for pointing out that what certain members posted was in direct contrast to the recorded words of scripture, I've been banished to hell multiple times (I've lost count), I've been told that I'm not born again, I've been told that I'm a "weed" (that one actually made me LAUGH OUT LOUD...literally), I've read where somebody prayed the blood of Jesus over this forum to protect the members here from my evil influence, I've been called a Pharisee with just about every adjective known to man attached to the same, I've been unfriended, I've been accused of all sorts of off the wall things in PM's and emails, etc., etc., etc.

Who cares?

Unless God confirms any of the same, then I just move on and pray for my accusers.

Quite frankly, I believe that the OP needs to take his own advice and to "grow up" himself. Throughout Christian history, people have been flogged, tortured, burned at the stake and even crucified for espousing their beliefs (anybody here ever heard of Jesus?) and if somebody can't either endure some quarreling or simply ignore either a thread or the posters of their choice, then I doubt that they're fit for the kingdom. Jesus said that following Him could literally cost us our lives and some people get all up in arms when a dispute breaks out. Seriously, if you don't like the arguments, then just avoid them. I'm embroiled in a few arguments myself (I trust that nobody fainted when they read that...lol), but I didn't start any of them. IOW, if anybody starts preaching/teaching that which I believe to be false according to the Word of God, then I'm going to challenge it/them...and I trust that others would/do, too.

Well, have a good night, everybody (except the heretics...lol).

The original protestants were from kingdoms in western Europe who 'protested the oppressive rule and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. By the 15th century the kingdoms that made up Germany, France and England and others had become powerful and felt more and more oppressed by the heavy taxes and demands of the Roman Church. These kingdoms had christian leaders who gave theological reasons for separating from the Roman Church forming their own churches each kingdom primarily having their own form of church. This separation became known as the 'Western Schism', and led to many years of war between the separated kingdoms and the kingdoms that remained in union with the bishop of rome. The major protestant denomination of today came into existence during this time period.

a very brief history

Christ be with you always.

Everyone on this forum shows why a lot of people do not like Protestants. So much disunity on this forum it's digusting. Everyone thinking their doctrines are the only truth and that everyone who disagrees is in danger of going to Hell. Do you really believe God is that shallow to send one to Hell for misinterperting a certain verse?grow up!
You tell me/us:

II Peter chapter 3

[13] Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
[14] Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
[15] And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
[16] As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
[17] Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

Do you think that those who "wrest the scriptures unto their own destruction" and those who are "led away with the error of the wicked and fall from their own stedfastness" are serious concerns?

God does...and so do I.

Well you are the inspiration of this thread!congrats.

I'm surprised you got off
Your day job of making sure those who believe in eternal security get your hellfire and brimstone message.

Oh and for the record quoting random scriptures doesn't prove your point at all. Do you even go to a Church?oh no let me guess the Holy Spirit reveals things to you no one else does!everyone else missed the mark!

Dude, you do make some good points, but your attitude stinks to high heaven. Please work on it.

Here's an idea...no rudeness unless it is faced with ignorance.

There are some that grind on a point that is without merit until everyone else is ready to do bodily harm to them. And then they just keep going.

Peaceful discussion requires merits that can be reasonably discussed and verified or proven in error.

The havoc that false teaching can produce is paramount. Today is the day of salvation and tomorrow will be today. Take up your cross daily. Eternal security is true by faith, but what ET teaches is that no matter what you do (rob, steal, kill, cheat, lie, beat your children in a drunken rage, defraud people, do drugs, and so on) your saved and own your way to heaven becuase the preacher baptized you when you were 3 years old. This is a lie.

I don't know ANYONE who believes in eternal security and believes we can be saved because of baptism as a infant. That is called Baptismal Regenration, which is taught but
Roman Catholics and Lutherans. Also why would a born again Christian do these things?even if he did he could
Still repent!

John 6:37 ESV

All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.

John 10:28 ESV

I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.

God bless.

I apologize but certain people really irk me.

Ha! Ha!

I never was 18.

How strong will you be witnessing the world as it is, my friend?

a) I will not change the world.

b) I´m not interested in changing it

c) neither will I permit they change what took me years (decades) to be.

Well you are the inspiration of this thread!congrats.
Do you honestly think that I didn't know that already?

Next time, be a man and simply address me by name.

The scriptures don't teach "eternal security" in the manner in which several people here do. If you're man enough to debate the topic yourself, then fine. If not, then just continue on with your hypocritical ad hominem attacks...which is what you're allegedly against.

Besides, people who are involved in that thread have told me that I'm going to hell in just the last few days, but not necessarily on that thread. Why aren't you calling them out? Why the respect of persons? Rhetorical questions.

Anyhow, whether you like it or not, here is what THE BIBLE teaches:

I Corinthians chapter 11

[18] For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.
[19] For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.

Whenever professing believers come together, whether in church or on forums such as these, there are inevitably going to be "divisions" and/or "heresies" AND THEY ACTUALLY SERVE A PURPOSE. Yes, they're designed to make manifest who is actually approved of God and who isn't.

Again, if you cannot handle the same, then this probably isn't the type of environment for you, but, ironically, the ones who are embroiled in such debates aren't the ones complaining.

Btw, for the non-crybabies amongst us, I did make a suggestion in the "Suggestions" section of this forum the other day about a possible sub-section for one on one debates. IOW, since the same arguments keep coming up again and again and again, it might be beneficial if two members simply debated against each other, with each defending their side of the argument, and others could comment on the debate on a separate thread. I've seen this done on other forums and such a debate could, if nothing else, serve as a future point of reference. IOW, when the topic comes up again, then somebody could just point the person who has brought the issue up again to the previous debate and such might actually help to curtail the same old arguments flaring up again and again and again.

Wow!

What´s deeply wrong with US?

Over the years I've found that sometimes I learned more from those who irk me, than those closest to me. Just some food for thought.
Amen.

The first thing which we should learn from those who irk US is that we're supposed to be dead to OURSELVES and alive in Christ, so what are WE doing being irked in the first place?

It's one thing to take a stand for the gospel's sake, but it's something totally different to respond to those who irk YOU.

Its hard when you type, because you can't see the expression of the face, or hear the inflections in the voice. and not all of us are great in communicating in written format.

I have learned not to assume what you read is meant to be rude often it is not. Many come across as if they are trying to be nasty but that is not the case often. Don't take it to heart often our perceptions are wrong. I don't tend to take offence anymore.

I read posts by people on here that seem harsh and judgmental but in talking to them I realize that is just a perception that is often not the case.

IOW, those who aren't actually harsh and judgmental are being falsely accused of the same by those who actually are.

It's ironic, isn't it?

Anyhow, "the inspiration for this thread" is going to bed.

Good night.
