Cassette tapes!

The young people nowadays don't know how good they have it! Back in my day, when I wanted to listen to a song on repeat, I had to keep rewinding the doggone tape!

I have a t-shirt with Soundwave (a Decepticon from Transformers) in his cassette player mode, along with his little cassette friends, and younger people always ask me who, and sometimes WHAT he is as well.

They know Transformers (thanks, Michael Bay), but they don't know the classics!

A grandma is old regardless of age, at least that’s what my daughter keeps telling me😁. She says I have to start acting like an old, rocking chair grandma and stop doing what I do😬😂. I guess what she’s really saying is that they need a babysitter😁.

I must be the most immature grandma in the entire state of Texas😊.
look i cant guarantee but maybe just maybe we can make an exception for the youngest grandma posting on sickly over 50s thread.

This looks similar to the record player/8 track tape player I had back in the 70's. :giggle:

Heh heh.

I know you always call yourself an old lady and it kinda makes me sad.

You're younger than I am. 🤪

So just let me sit in my rocker and eat my can o' prunes. 😗
I forgot to say...how on earth can you be older than I am?😁 You look like you’re born in the 80s. Late 80s that is.

Lol, thanks.

It must be all the preservatives in the food we eat! :D That, and I like to tell people I spend all my money on Botox! :sneaky:

I took that picture sometime last month? I like the black and white because it blurs some of the wrinkles.

Seriously, I know you know I'm adopted and it's times like this that I really wish I knew what my biological parents/family. I always wonder if I look like any of them, and if they are an indication of how I'll age (and what health issues I might be susceptible to) in the future.

Well, if it can be of any comfort, my family carries a lot of resemblance to those awful Duck Dynasty people😬😁.

I feel you about blurring out wrinkles and stuff. That’s why I’m using my Bitmoji. It makes me look both younger and prettier😊.

Yup, I know, I’m so fake😁🤗

TV shows I watched in the 70's (just to name a few)

The Partridge Family and The Brady Bunch were regular TV viewing in my family home also :)

Though I moved away from home in 1973 :D And had no TV for many years after that :geek:

...Only in the swamplands🤗.
I believe my mom was 36 when I was born... the 7th of 11 children :D

I was born on a Sunday :)

I am older than your mother :geek::giggle:

The 70's people were very fashionable. The 80's not really, I don't know what happened. But music in the 80's was awesome. Maybe people in the 80's smoked weed a lot, they did not care how they look and only cared about making highly inspired music. The 90's was ok. Millennials are annoying... sometimes.
