Sometimes yes and sometimes no. Certainly there are times he brings people into our lives for a reason, but I don’t think every person we see is meant to have an important influence in our lives.

True and I respect your opinion/your answer but I don't know I guess what I'm trying to say is even if they don't have a have impact on your life they can teach you a valuable lesson or something I don't know lol.....but thank you for your opinion/answer......

I agree, absolutely. :]

At the beginning of this past school year, I was feeling overwhelmed by all of the people I didn't know, not knowing who I should befriend and not having it in me. So, I asked God to show me who would be my friends.

While we were sitting in a hall meeting, I looked over and saw this one girl and God just gave me a very tangible feeling. HER. So, I talked to her and everything meshed so well. We became great friends but then she got super clingy and depended on me for absolutely everything., I couldn't handle the pressure and couldn't breath because she was always around.

I was questioning, "God, why did you want us to be friends? This relationship isn't healthy for either of us?" Finally, I confronted her and told her that I needed some space. I felt terrible, though, like I was the worst person in the world.

Eventually, our relationship got much better and by the end of the year, we were in a great, healthy relationship. I still didn't understand, though, why God so distinctly wanted us to be friends.

Last night, she messaged me on facebook (we don't see each other over the summer much) and told me that she's depressed and suicidal. I was able to remind her of a story she told me where God stopped her from killing herself once before. Because she had trusted me enough to tell me before and confide in me last night, God used our relationship and her trust in me to help her.

If I hadn't become her friend, who knows...

God does awesome things and we can't even tell until we look back and piece everything together.

i agree too.

great testimony, lyndies

because i don't believe that anything is by chance, and that God ordains every detail of our lives, every person has a purpose in my life - whether they're meant there for a moment or a decade

God cares so much about details that He made the world's elements so perfect. every atom has the exact protons, neutrons, and electrons it needs to be what it is. the slightest change of balance in these atoms would cause them to explode.

and God is so particular that He chose a specific you. He has billions of people to choose from, but He needed your two parents to make you.. or He wouldn't have you. He would have someone else. and He needed their parents to make them in order to make you.. and it goes back to Genesis. He knew us before we were born. Before creation, He had us in mind. And He knew what needed to happen in order for you to come.

Nothing is by chance. Nothing is by mistake. If it were by chance, our God would not be Omnipotent, or Omniscient.

I love how OCD our God is. :D

Wow that is something......just wow i'm a little lost at words lol but see right there that's one lesson taught and a purpose meant to happen just by being her friend I'm glad God brought her in your life...sure it may have been a little rough at first but you both pulled through it enough where she can trust you so much to tell you something personal that she needed your help with...... :)

I am always learning from other people, it seems.

Of course! When we are acquainted with other people, no matter how long for, we are affected in lots of ways.
If it is a friend we are supported and are made to have a more positive outlook on our lives.
If they are an enemy we are strengthened and learn to defend ourselves against those that curse against us...
and even if it's a person that comes into our lives for a short time and then goes away for whatever reason, we still learn from them because their presence has influenced us. :)

Too much? lol
