Psalm 42:11 -
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me?
hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him,
who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

May I know who is speaking to who, here?
That's poetic language about himself, not a separate being dwelt within him. It's understood like this: "why am I cast down, O poor old me? Why do I feel so disquieted?" I don't think king David was born again in the Holy Spirit, even though he had a heart after God's own heart.

King David was anointed, and anointing happens in the spirit. So, when he goes through troubled times he is calling his soul to praise God. In other words, he is trying to encourage himself by means of praising God.

You don't know that. Holy Spirit usually descended upon the individual at baptism. Whether he was born again or not, he was not talking to a separate being taken possession of him.

Aren't you inquisitive of getting this confusion clarified? In Gen. 2:7 when the Bible says that Adam "became a living soul", it means that he was being guided by his soul unlike us who can be guided by the Holy Spirit.

Well, Gen 2:7 is clear enough for me, and Rom. 2:14-15 indicates the human spirit includes conscience, whereas the animal spirit operates by instinct.

I think all TSers in all places at all times were guided by the HS without them realizing it, because that truth was not fully revealed until the NT/John 14-16 (cf. Rom. 8:9).

The Scripture doesn't contradict itself. Anyone can cherrypick certain scriptures to espouse any view, therefore I choose to ignore your tactics. You wanna talk about scripture, let's talk about the summary of Lk. 1, the summary of Heb. 4, what the whole chapter of Lk. 1 is about, what the whole chapter of Heb. 4 is about. I can absolutely assure you that neither is arguing for the distinctness of soul. Unless you can prove they are, you deserve to be ignored.

GW does not contradict itself, but Scripture prooftexts can make it seem otherwise,
which is why we TSers should pray for the gift of harmonization using divine logic.

1 Thes. 5:23 - And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

As per the scripture above, man is a tripartite being and needs to be saved in his spirit, soul, and body. How is this accomplished?
By trusting in the Person, atoning death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

There aren’t three avenues to salvation, one for each part. There is one.

In the OT, there were only 3 categories of people who were anointed i.e. the kings, priests, and the prophets. Besides them, everyone were being led by their soul since the spirit within them had already died due to Adam's sin.

If you don't believe in these three avenues of getting saved, then you'll remain confused by the three ways in which we receive salvation.
1. According to Rom. 10:9, we are told to confess Jesus as Lord and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead. This is how we are saved.
2. According to Rom. 3:25, we are called to place our faith in the blood of Jesus to be saved. This is confirmed in Rom. 5:9
3. According to Rom. 6:3-7, we are called to be water baptized through which our old man is crucified and we will have a resurrected body.

Each of the above methods are for the salvation of our spirit, soul, and body in order.

Spirit cannot be "dead", there's no such thing as "spiritual death". WHat's often taught as "spiritual death" is Adam and Eve's broken relationship with God, the exile from Eden disconnected them from God. In Rev. 20, it is the disobedient spirits that are condemned to suffer in the lake of fire for eternity.

By that reply you imply no one was saved per Rom. 8:9?

Do those three operate independently? No. Does Scripture specify that any of those three relates to "saving" a specific component of the human being? No.

Have a nice day.

You are right when you say that the death of the spirit is disconnection from God. So, since their spirit cannot lead them anymore, who is the alternative? It's the soul.

No. They were saved by their faith just as Abraham was. So, the for the OT saints, it really does not matter much about knowing the tripartite nature of man. However, it is very much for us as NT believers to know this distinction because Satan attacks in our soul i.e. our mind, emotions, and will. For this reason, we need discerning through our spirit.

The first two happens together as we pray the prayer of repentance and salvation. The third one happens as we take water baptism. I am relating this to what is said in 1 Thes. 5:23 that we should keep our spirit, soul, and body blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

That verse tells us clearly that we are tripartite beings. It does not say anything about distinct "methods" for salvation for each part. It also puts the onus on us to "keep... blameless", which is not "save".

No. They were saved by grace through faith.

If I have a leaky faucet, I might use a wrench to fix it. No one would say that the wrench fixed the faucet. They would say that I fixed the faucet using a wrench.

In like manner, God saves by grace using faith.

Once a person is born again, the onus definitely is on us because we have a free will. God's grace only assists us as we pursue God.

Grace and faith is definitely from God. Exercising the free will to accept that grace is our part.

Grace is the exercise of God's power in/on/through an individual. The exercise of God's power is independent from and incidental to any response of an individual.

What exactly does God do when He exercises grace to save an individual? How is His power manifested?

Eph. 2:8-9 says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.". God gives us the gift of faith. Using this faith, we believe the gospel, call upon the name of the Lord and will be saved. When it says, "not of yourselves", it means our salvation was not based on our merit but purely because of the grace of God.

Rom. 10:13 says, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.". Without us calling on the name of the Lord, we cannot be saved.
