Does anyone else get tremors? Where your body feels like it's shaking, either your legs or sometimes your organs, heart?

I think this side effect stems from a prescription drug I take, called Vraylar.

Does anyone here have any info on what they did to stop the tremors?

I've been taking propranolol for it, but it only goes away for maybe a few hours and comes back.

I may have to make ANOTHER appointment with my nurse practitioner.

Involuntary tremors are a common side effect of anti-psychotics (your doctor should have informed you of this).

For some medications they will dissipate if you stop the medication, for others they are permanent.

For the record, I am not suggesting that you stop taking your medication since the withdrawal symptoms from stopping anti-psychotic medications cold turkey can be catastrophic .

Thanks for letting me know @Oncefallen

I'm really hoping it's reversible.

I guess this just turned into a prayer thread lol

I'll make an appointment with my nurse practitioner ASAP

i found;
Vraylar side effects

Common Vraylar side effects may include sleepiness, nausea, vomiting, indigestion, constipation, feeling tired, trouble sleeping, increased appetite, dizziness, involuntary muscle movements, feeling restless, upset stomach, difficulty moving, or slow movements.

please talk to your doctor or pharmacist, perhaps dosages could be adjusted.

Thank you @vassal , my appointment is in 4 hours.
I’ll be sure to bring this up.

Update: my new nurse practitioner is taking me off of 4 mental health prescriptions. She diagnosed me as someone with ptsd, which makes more sense than the other diagnoses I’ve had in the past.

So pretty soon I’ll be taking one mental health med and two as needed mental health meds….along with a blood pressure and cholesterol med

Most definitely. I saw two therapists today actually. One is my regular therapist and one, I was recommended I see but she wasn’t a good fit because she wasn’t a trauma therapist but we did talk and she thinks that I more so suffer from anxiety rather than PTSD because I don’t have any PTSD symptoms, such as flashbacks.

The truth will be revealed eventually.

God bless you in your journey Sean and keep God in your heart and mind during your walk while others do their jobs and while He gives you more wisdom.

Thanks for the kind reply @Eli1
I've learned quite a bit in this almost 16-year journey. Just seems like one super long healing process, but I can't wait for what God has in store for me and anyone who may benefit from this ongoing testimonial.
God is real, God is good, and surprisingly, I find myself crying way more often because of how good He is.
I have no idea sometimes how I am able to continue doing what I'm doing, but He allows me to.
God bless you @Eli1

Well, my new nurse practitioner said I can stop propranolol immediately today. I have three more days of Benztropine, and two more weeks and three days left of Vraylar till I’m off those meds.

She also said I can wean off of Divalproex starting yesterday.

And she prescribed me Gabapentin as needed.

So, instead of a bunch of prescriptions, I only will be on 60mg’s of Lurasidone per day with gabapentin as needed for anxiety.

I might even wean off of Lurasidone and not even take Gapapentin.

I don’t see the point in being on any prescriptions when I feel healthier than ever.

I think the only reason I was on these meds is cause of my dark past using drugs and alcohol.

I think Jesus healed me over time and there is no need for this stuff anymore.

The only other prescriptions I take are atorvastatin for cholesterol management and metoprolol for my aFib/blood pressure management.

Well, I forgot to give my pharmacy info to my new nurse practitioner, so I'm completely not able to get gabapentin at the moment until I can reach out to the office on Monday. What a day....

Do you ever get muscle cramps or Charlie horses?
I used to, quite a lot. Growing up in my pre and early teens I was morbidly obese, still have the loose skin and stretch marks to this day. Around that time I was getting alot of charlie horses that would wake me up at night. I would learn that the way to defeat them was to quickly stand up before they can strongly come on. My body got a graceful forewarning before they happened.
I was also getting a lot of migrane headaches too, dreadful ones.
Soon enough I just got very ashamed of the condition my body was in and just committed myself to getting fit. I don't know how long it was untl after I made that descision that I also manged to get hooked on pre-workout formula. For a long time, I was taking doses around 350mg caffeine a day.
Now, the headaches have all but disappeared, and I can't remeber the last time I got a charlie horse, or a headache that wasn't caused by congestion.
I've had seasons of working out, but y'know, some things happen that take a mental toll on me, and it burdens the body as much as the mind. I'm just comming out of a lower place now, and doing a lot better than I was not too long ago.
Don't feel sorry for me, but pray with faith that we all make it, and that as many people find Christ as they can. That's all that matters.

I wish we and your parents knew each other back then.
I likely could have helped IMHO.

I will gladly pray for you.
Let's pray for each other. I like your attitude and may be able to help once I get paid membership privileges for DMs. I don't give out personal information on the forum because I had satanic enemies that threatened my life elsewhere .

I do commend you for overcoming obesity.
That's a MAJOR life accomplishment!
We had that in common in our youth. Perhaps we can work on healthy goals in the future.

Amen.
Though I'm still not out of the water with weight problems yet.
I used to be, but for about a year and a half I've relapsed. It's not terrible, though. The Lord is hepling fight for my health back by guiding me into a diet and exercise plan. I used to ride a bike for miles alot (which I haven't ridden for a while because of a flat tire), and I have also been blessed with a set of home gym equipment.

Captains log, star date:

Two days ago, propranolol 5mg is no longer a prescription of mine.

Tomorrow, Benztropine 0.25mg will no longer be a prescription either.

Will keep updated.

Please keep in mind the Dr Peter Breggin link I gave you a while back. That retired Psychiatrist is the foremost authority I was able to find on reduction of psychiatric meds with lower risk. He's a very valuable resource.
God's blessings for achieving your goal.
