My sis says the Commonwealth Games have moved to ....Glasgow! So I should be able to catch a few True Scotsmen there.

If only you knew she was from Glasgow and originally named Marie MacDonald McLaughlin Lawrie
She married a Bee Gee, and a Celebrity Hairdresser but they were not True Scotsmen. I think she ought to have married one and been happier being true to him and to herself..maybe...
She wrote 'Girls like me didn't get to do things like this. I understood that. All a parent where I cam from aspired to was for their sons to move up in the world by becoming a boxer or a footballer, while girls were expected to grow up, work in a factory or as a hairdresser, get married and look after children. Just as our mothers and grandmothers before us had done.'
Instead at age 14 she became pop star, moved to London had number one records and had fame and fortune. This was back in the 60s, she's most famous for the song 'Shout' and 'To Sir with Love'
Glasgow actually does not look too bad now if it can host the Commonwealth Games, but apparently back in the day it was a dreary, dismal industrial town full of slum housing...and everyone drank like a fish to forget their sorrows.
