I would highly disagree. Turmp's performance on this issue has been astounding, the likewise surprise of just the opportunity of the diplomacy to happen up to this point is a miracle itself. Also both JD Vance and Marco Rubio have both shined exceedingly on this issue. Genuine talent for the successor plotline, not yes men, but already for their respective offices they're set to be legendary figures.
Zelensky is not an elected leader, his term expired and he suspended elections under the pretense of martial law. Ukraine as a country has had a curse on its last heads of state. Yanukovych fled the country into exile to Russia, thus the regions he was from and that favored him broke away from Ukraine so begun the pre-war war. Poroshenko then led the war to try to reclaim these regions, but his own people turned on him for corruption and put him in prison. Enter Zelensky whom when he was elected tried at first to be friendly with Russia, but for his continued fighting in Crimea and Donetsk and Luhansk the Russians decided to directly intervene. Under this pretense then Zelensky suspends elections and makes other pretty dodgy moves like shunting his political opponents and even high profile members of the military to the side or worse. For Russia a regime change would be a way to satisfy their war goals and make them more inclined to sign unto a longer lasting peace treaty therefore do the opponents of Russia not want to give them the satisfaction, but yet this would be a chip in Ukraine's favor. This can be done also in a way where one doesn't have to be for or against Russia to support this since we have people like Zaluzhnyi that could easily take Zelensky's place. Zaluzhnyi has been sidelined and shunted to the side by Zelensky so it would be poetic to overturn him with Zaluzhnyi, but even besides just rich storyline, really just practically you're in a war against a bigger country, I think having your leader be the guy that is the only general score Ws and take major cities from Putin rather than the comedian whom has been spoiled rotten and is now at the rotting part. In the best scenario this then would be good positioning for Ukraine after the ceasefire, if peace is pursued and achieved then Zaluzhnyi represents the people that fought the war for Ukraine and can be an Eisenhower type great leader potential for peace and rebuilding. If war resumes, well, you have to your benefit as your leader the current ranking best general to fight Putin and a fresh shot to get America on your side.
Really if Russia accepts the 30 day ceasefire, and that's an extremely big IF after all the weakness that Zelensky showed and how he jeopardized the peace talks to begin with, the best course of action is to try to negotiate an extension of the ceasefire that Ukraine might hold elections. We shall see though if the parties involved see this potential, or if they don't, it's all up in the air now. Praise Jesus though the narrow path to peace is still on the table and that we have come this far this fast is a miracle.
