The UK's conservatism is similar to America's liberalism. lol Or so I've heard it explained by someone from the UK. Not to say a conservative can't look at or participate in child pornography, but it's not a value upheld by the conservative mindset. I do see it as being something permissible by liberals in the future, though.

They don't like those restrictive traditions and out-moded mindsets.

The liberal mainstream media is already promoting polyamory. In the future, they will push for a "redefinition" of pedophilia and bestiality and offer organizations built on these gross immoral behaviors a forum so they can agitate for "civil rights" protection. After all, they too are "born that way."

Homosexuality is, as was asserted by many conservatives, just the first installation by which civil rights afforded on the basis of immoral behavior is extended.

This is a primary mechanism by which the world will be corrupted by the devil to facilitate a great falling away with sweeping apostasy in preparation for the appearance of the "son of perdition" (see John 17:12 and 2 Thessalonians 2:3).

Yeah, you are wrong.

Conservatives are similar around the world. Whether it's a conservative communist in China, or conservative Empire builder in America.

Both hate freedom and want big government to control every aspects of people's personal lives, but leave big business free to run quasi criminal cabals.

As long as the average person, the poor person is crushed... and the 1% elevated, the conservative is happy.

If voting in favor of what conservatives think is right means 1% being elevated and them controlling the average person, then something's wrong with that particular nation's voting system. But if 60% of a nation is conservative and they vote that adultery and fornication should be punishable under criminal law, then that just means that a majority of the population is conservative and decides to shape the society in which they live a certain way. I've heard this explained by a liberal as "tyranny of the majority." Apparently when after a vote in a democratic form of government the 1% of liberals don't get their way they cry tyranny. Oh, well... I guess conservatives don't deserve to have their voices heard in a democratic system..

Probably best to not to post during happy hour. I couldn't understand a word of what you just said.

I base my beliefs on my observations. I am pretty much a liberal because of the illegal wars your mate Bush committed the USA and allies too, so that his friends can get all that oil. I saw all the conservatives cheering it on.

THAT IS NOT CHRISTIANITY. The Republican party is not Christian. Never was and never will be.

I consider myself a conservative for the most part, but I'm not that interested in the Republican party. And I know a conservative who voted for Bush and, I would say, very much dislikes him now. It's unfortunate and wrong to start wars to win resources unless your people need them to survive. And it's all that more wrong when America has so much oil of its own but refuses to drill it.

I do dislike the liberal frame of mind, but I have some problems with conservatives, too. More and more of them are buying into this idea that we shouldn't voice our opinion on how we want the society we live in to be shaped. Liberals have convinced many of us that we should just live and let live. But, for example, I don't believe America should be a society that endorses homosexual behavior or child pornography or is okay with divorce and adultery. "Don't stick your nose in someone else's business!" Hey, I've seen homosexuals during festivals that had their genitals exposed or kissing each other. I've seen the media endorsing more and more smut. I just saw an article on MSN that listed the taboo against premarital sex as one of the old traditions we "laugh at" now. Ya, because we laugh at it so much when STDs are spread or when a guy gets a woman pregnant and leaves her because he's not committed. Or when a woman has an abortion to kill her own child so she doesn't have to live with the consequences of premarital sex. And, yes, I know there is a liberal refutation for every example I listed. But what works in theory doesn't always work in practice. People who want premarital sex aren't the most careful, planning and calculating in the world.

I'd prefer not raising up children to go off and search for a spouse in a society where 90% of the people their age have already had sex with one or more partners or are divorced, have had abortions, regularly commit homosexual acts or are players with STDs. If I had my own way I'd make these things illegal. That's where my vote would be. And no one is going to convince me that theirs is the only voice that should be heard and mine should not. And I think conservative youth need to wake up and realize that they're being talked out of a godly society by silver-tongued liberals.

The same around the world? The same around the world?!

I wish conservatives could agree on something at the local level let alone the global level.

Addressing the original post, I'm glad this gentleman was caught and hope he is prosecuted the fullest extent the British legal system allows.

David, why are you okay with this? You specifically said a few weeks ago that it was not the government's job to stop people from sinning. Shouldn't they release him immediately?

Oh wow....

So that's your position.

Wow...

You started a thread about how it's not the government's job to stop people from sinning. I agreed, with reservations. I was wondering about the legalization of suicide, among others. I guess you missed it, because I never got an answer. But it appears you aren't actually in favor of a small government that doesn't stop anyone from sinning?

You said:
It seems... people are happy for the government to police your personal/private sins.

So it sounds like you are too, correct? Patrick Rock didn't abuse children, according to the affidavit, he just looked at some images of it being done. Now, I find that a repugnant sin, but aren't you a small-government Liberal who doesn't want policing of sins? I think you need to state your position on policing sin more clearly.

Well of course it's not a Christian party - neither is the Democratic party or the Libertarian party or any other party.

They all resort to pandering, back room deals, insider trading, and morally reprehensible behavior. The best one can hope to do is pick the one that does the least damage.

Nudity on television has just begun as was prophesied in 1973 would occur by David Wilkerson in his book 'The Vision.' The narrative their using to introduce nudity on television is a reality survival narrative. That's the anchor. Once they get that stake firmly in the ground, they'll start driving in more stakes. Eventually they'll bring the tent up.

It's a Christian nation with a state church. Whereas America and Australia are secular nations.

The U.S. is a nation built on Jeffersonianism that has been secularized to a large degree beginning in the mid 20th century.

What's your state religion then? Southern Baptist church? Or is your state religion Catholicism?

I'd like to know which church is the official state religion. Since you are inferring I am wrong.
