I honestly have no idea what this is. I just need to write and get this all out. I know everyone goes through a hard time, but I have never felt so down and alone right now. I feel like I need to reach out to God and maybe read a few verses more often because I rarely do. I am a college student 4 hours away from home. I love my mom and trust her, but I would never tell her about the problems and worries I am having. I dont know where to even start. This past year I have changed so much and I believe it was for the worst. I lost someone I thought I loved and then got swept off my feet by another guy who only in the end sent me off and basically used me. Since then I have been making horrible decisions such as drugs and alcohol every weekend and smoking everyday to get my worries off my mind. I've been sleeping with a few people who don't give a care in the world about me either. I don't know who I've become and I am so disappointed in myself. My good friends here have stopped talking to me for no reason and I feel so alone. I just want to be happy again and I feel like I need to reach out to God to find myself.

I admire your courage, Sydryan, to express your feelings and what you are going through that you will emerge from stronger, wiser and even more beautiful. I am praying for you and your success. Sometimes, the enemy wants us distracted. Distracted from our beauty within, distracted from our unique purpose here on earth.

I know you have a special calling. I know your story one day will help another on the road to Christ. Please stay in the word. Look at scriptures like Proverbs 4:23 that talks about guarding your heart above all else. I find when my heart is divided, so is my mind. When I am struggling with lust or temptation, my mind is clouded and I can't think straight. Proverbs 4:23 is one of my favorite scriptures. I have worked hard to guard my heart from the enemy and I have a lot of work to do. Also, look at Psalms 34:4 that talks about our right to seek God even when we have sinned.

The enemy wants to use your guilt and feelings of alienation to separate you from God's unconditional love. That's just it -- it's not conditional love for when we are being perfect, but always there in need. So, in this moment of your life feeling a bit mixed up and alone, seek warmth in prayer. Get in your prayer closet and just have a conversation with God. As you have had the courage to express yourself here, pour it all out for God.

Lastly, know that when praises go up blessings come down. There is abundance all around us. We serve a limitless God. Start thanking Him for what you have like a roof over your head, your health, food in your belly... And start speaking blessings in your life and watch a transformation take place.

I know you are a woman of courage, otherwise you wouldn't have posted. And I know and believe that you will rise again. Storms are not meant to take us out but reveal a different dimension of who he is.

With much Love!

Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

People don't stop talking to you for no reason.
You say you've started drinking, smoking, doing drugs and sleeping around. All of this affects your behavior. And it likely affects how you interact with your friends in a negative manner. Its not that they quit for no reason, but more likely you have driven them off with the changes in your life, and the way those changes are affecting you and how you act and treat your friends.
Right now there is a choice to be made. Continue this cycle of guilt/negative feelings, which makes you act out, which causes guilt/negative feelings, which causes you to act out more. And continue to see it and do nothing to change it. Or you can realize how badly you're ruining yourself, your body, your mind, your spiritual walk, your relationships, your self worth and your life, then do something to change. Because all these things you're turning to to make yourself 'feel better' or 'forget' only create a bigger need to feel better or forget. So you are only making things worse each time you continue these patterns.

Quite simply, quit. I know some things are harder to quit, and some of these behaviors may take time to quit completely, but the longer you sit here sulking and wallowing in self pity, the longer it's going to take to get your life on track.
Maybe call up your old friends and ask them why they left. And be ready that you may have to hear some things that are hard to hear, but be ready to own up to them and deal.
Or move forward in your life and find new, good friends that won't encourage your behavior.

There may have been some things that started causing you to feel bad that you couldn't control, but How you have chosen to handle those feelings is on you. Right now you're the one causing the pain in your own life. And you're the one that continues to make the choices that will keep causing you pain, or to make choices to stop. You can't blame anyone but yourself. And i say that not to put you down, but to point out that you can't blame anyone, or any circumstance for where you're at. Even if bad things happened, it still falls on your shoulders because there are better ways of handling problems without resorting to the things you have. And since you made these choices to start, now make the choice to stop.
Perhaps the real need here is that you need to stop trying to handle things on your own and find someone to talk to, that will listen and help. And who is knowledgeable, not some clueless friend who will only make things worse.
The worst attitude in the world is 'i don't need anyone else'. Especially when it comes to going through hard times. Rather than running to men who just want to use you, run to someone you can trust and tell them what's going on.
It's time to stop hiding from your problems and to grow up and little and start dealing with your problems head on. Sober. This is the only way to regain that happiness that you once had.

If you have no one to talk to, i'd be happy to help. Or you could hang around the forums and find an older woman that could talk with you. But one way or another, you need someone to give you some guidance and support in this rough time. Don't think you can do it alone.

you've been given some great advice, already, and i encourage you to really take it to heart.

instead of repeating their points, i will simply say that there are many here who've walked in your steps and are happy to encourage and help you forge a new path in the right direction, including myself.

i'm going to drop you a PM right now. : )

edited to add: i am going to underscore the point that ugly made about finding a (at least one) woman whom you're comfortable talking with, based upon what you've shared.

you also should have posting access to the ladies forum, which would be another way to seek some support as well.

I would love to be happy once again also. Act out the last line of your post and reach out to God. Allow him to create a new creation in you. Finish out the school year and then go home to the ones that truly love and understand you. You need a few quiet months to regain your composure and to understand the things that are most important in life.
