I need instant prayer. I sent out my rent check on December 2nd, along with my electric bill. As of yesterday, the landlord has not received my rent check. However, my electric bill HAS cleared as cashed. I cannot afford to pay nearly $400 in double rent next month. PLEASE pray the rent check will get to the landlord and cashed before Christmas. Thank you.

Oh how worrisome Blue. Yes, in Jesus Name, we come to You, Heavenly Father, asking for help with these financial logistics, help that chk find its way to the landlord. Help the Landlord to be patient and Lord just help this to be resolved quickly. We thank you Lord for all that You do and for who You are. Amen.

we've ordered some things on-line and they are over-due but not worrying
about them, as every one is so busy now,,,

I suppose I could, but then I'd have to pay double rent next month..
 
Praying the Holy Spirit guides you as you look for your check. It probably got lost in the landlord’s papers :(

Well it USUALLY always gets to it's destination on time. I sent out the electric bill along with it, and that cleared as cashed..

Two weeks is a long time for a piece of local mail to go missing.

I would contact the landlord, explain what happened, and see what he has to say.
You probably need to cancel the original check, write a new check, and deliver it in person.

You shouldn't incur anything beyond a small late fee, and if you talk to the landlord, and show him your checkbook, you should be able to avoid the late fee.


* I would not sit around hoping the missing mail turns up, I'd contact the landlord, and take care of this before it gets worse.

Well, I'm trusting God to get it to where it belongs. :) I won't incur a late fee, only double rent next month. Even if I DID write them a new check, it still wouldn't get there and cashed before Christmas OR January. So either way, I'd still have to pay double rent.
 
But Blue, I'm not getting your logic.

If your check is not cashed this month, then you have $200 extra in your account. Add to it January's rent and it totals $400, which is not double rent, but rather Dec rent plus Jan rent. This is the same amount of money you would be spending if your check had arrived safely this month.

You are not doubling your rent.

Please contact your landlord to see what he wants to do. You should put stop Payment on the check, in case some one finds it and cashed it. Then you really will be out the rent.

Can you use electronic direct deposit? Then it goes directly from your bank into his.

Praying you find an easy way to resolve this.
